This hotel is in a very good location in the middle of MK. Within easy walk of shops and resteraunts. Carparking is available, but have to pay. Good size room, freezing when I got in and took a while to warm up. Friendly staff, and a great breaky
From booking in to leaving 2 days later the hotel excelled. The staff went out of their way to accommodate al requests. Rooms clean and comfortable with room to move around. The facilities pool etc were great. The bar area relaxing and spacious
Stayed here for two nights on business and it was faultless. Had both breakfast and dinner in the hotel and these were lovely with plenty to choose from. Also used the swimming pool and steam room which was great. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Slept very well as room was nice and dark! Highly recommend and if I was ever in the area again I would stay here.
On arrival too the hotel after a long drive from up north, we were greeted us with friendly staff who checked us in efficiently & professionally. Our room was an executive room, great space for two people. water & snacks were supplied, Bed was huge & extremely comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate, very tasty, from full English, pastries, cereals, juices. Well Worth the money & highly recommended. Exceptional service.
I'm easily into double figures on how many times I've stayed at this hotel now, over the past ~10 years. I tend to stay there once every couple of months these days. My only gripe after the last couple of stays was not being automatically upgraded (IHG platinum status); I've always had to beg, which I've always felt like I shouldn't have to do. This time, we were upgraded to one of the best positioned rooms I've been in (top floor, corner) and the check in had been done before we'd arrived. A group of women were busy ganging up on a chap on reception when we arrived, because he wouldn't give them a bigger room (one of them was getting married and presumably thought this warranted silver service) than they'd booked. I did expect to also not have an exec room but I was happily surprised. Anyway - we didn't do anything in the hotel this time other than use the room as we had other plans, but the stay was brilliant. Not one issue and I'm happy to say that I'll definitely be back.
Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, this was my very first impression. For IHG members we were treated to a free drink, bar snacks and a Toblerone too.! We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. There was entertainment on the Friday and the hotel was shared with a wedding party on the Saturday. No problems for us. There's a swimming pool and sauna located below ground level and open until 10:00pm free to use for residents. Rarely very busy. The 3 person rooms are large and are often at the same price as a room for just 2. The *only* negative point is that you will have to pay £8 per 24hours for parking. Very disappointing to be honest. Overall a good stay, a modern, clean hotel and very good value for money provided you book on line in advance. SteveBalstone
My husband and I stayed here for the Motogp weekend. It's a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and lovely food. The only downside was the fact you had to pay £8 per day to park and I wasn't aware of this at the time of booking. Having said that we would definitely stay again.
Excellent check-in and great customer service - in-room dining really good - extremely friendly staff lots of smiles which made a pleasant end to a stressful day. Breakfast very good again extremely engaging members of staff. Sports facilities brill. WELL DONE Holiday Inn - great effort.
So simple, but if you have a very 'business standard ' type of hotel in the middle of a non-descript town, the only way you can make an impression is by being really friendly and helpful. Reception and especially the restaurant staff at breakfast were on top of their game and clearly enjoy their work. Thanks and keep it up.
Ok so I won't lie I had a few issues small things upon arrival I went to my accessible room and it wasn't quite up to snuff, now I am a bit of a clean freek you could say but I wasn't quite happy or comfortable with it as it was so popped down to reception and was greeted with a smile explained it wasn't quite as I would like and asked to move rooms now they where very busy in the hotel but made every effort to make me feel welcome and comfortable really professional service, so I sat in the bar area for the time it took to drink a coffee and they found me a new clean assessable room, presto ! Done happy and sorted, so I nip out to get a hair cut the centre of mk with all the shops really easy to get to from the hotel staff knew where everything was again all really friendly and said best way to go in wheelchair, so I go off to do that pop back and decided to have a swim went down lifts to use the pool and all of the cubicle for shower is adapted which is good however they don't have a lift in and out off the pool ( if you need one I don't ) however yet again the staff couldn't have been more helpful they even offered to help me get in and out of the pool by getting in etc again usally you find people really don't care and would rather just say sorry "not wheelchair accessible" but no really nice people just explained I can get in and out with out a lift and how they where happy. Bar and room service was spot on food in the restaurant was good standard and the service was pleasant, over all I would say while the hotel has some of the normal issues e.g a little tired here and there and say a bit of dust here and there the staff as a team really work hard and give a good feeling of welcome and understand why not being condescending. I don't generally give such nice reviews due to being blunt as a bugger and honest but that is it thank you staff of holiday inn you made my stay worthwhile and enjoyable. Bravo
