We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is close to gas, car wash, shopping, dining and super easy access to I-15. It's a quick 5 minute drive to SUU campus and the Shakespeare Festival. Breakfast every morning was well-stocked. Thank you!

Very bad customer service and run down

We booked this hotel the same day because we thought it would be fun to take our kids to a hotel to swim and have a little overnight getaway. We drove 3 hours away. When we arrived the place looked so run down. Nothing like any of the pictures shown. AFTER the lady at the front checked us in, she said “unfortunately, for safety reasons, we had to close down our pool yesterday.” We were so disappointed since that was our only reason we booked the hotel. We asked for a refund and they said that since we booked through Hotels.com, we would have to go through hotels.com to get us a refund. We quickly called hotels.com. We were told from hotels.com that they would get ahold of the hotel and ask for their approval so they could issue us a refund. We found another hotel that was 40 more minutes away (hotels in cedar city were all booked) and we drove there. We called to make sure the pool was working and they assured us that it was, so we booked it. Meanwhile, hotels.com messaged me a couple of times saying that they are still working on getting ahold of the Wingate hotel about getting us our refund. I heard back 24 hours later via email saying that they were unable to get approval from Wingate’s manager and would not be issuing us a refund. We had to pay for 2 hotels in 2 different cities and drive all around. So expensive. This was the worst display of customer service and false advertising on both Wingate by Wyndham Cedar City and Hotels.com. Very disappointed in both companies.

Some false advertising

The room was great, the only reason I gave three stars instead of four or five is because we could not get adjoining rooms. It is advertised but this hotel has NO adjoining rooms. Those rooms were one of the main reasons I booked only to find out it actually wasn’t ever an option.

First time staying at a Wyndham property. Had to open door by slamming shoulder into it. TV remote had no battery cover. Batteries kept falling out. Towels were so frayed they'd qualify as rags. Key wouldn't work on fitness center. Took desk clerk 2-3 minutes to open with master key. 🙄 Breakfast was very low quality and in too small of an area. Needs extensive renovations,such as screws missing from toilet seat. Sad.

Don't believe it when the hotel says it's pet-free

I booked this particular hotel because it said no pets. After arriving well after midnight, I checked into our room only to be bombarded with smell dog urine and dog for all over the couch. I pulled back the sheets and actually smelled them, they smell like bleach and because we were so tired we decided just to spend the night This was part of a four nights stay. I'm highly allergic to pet dander, woke up I swollen shut, throat swollen, wheezing and itchy. We immediately packed up, of course we didn't put anything on the furniture so it was easy to pack up. And went to check out. Went to the front desk, the clerk could see my condition and asked me if I was okay. I told her no, this was supposed to be a pet free hotel and told her about our experience in the room. She was very apologetic, said that she talked to her manager and they would work with hotels.com and refunding my money for the remainder of the nights. She said that some people sneak pets in. I can understand that but there should be a considerable charge for people who bring pets in there room and violate the rule. Hotel staff was wonderful and handling this situation. I really thought though that since it was a Wyndham hotel, it would be in better shape, the rooms went smell like pets and they were more aware of how their rooms appeared. Privacy curtain was broken, the lamp was broken stains on the carpet ( which I figure was from pet pee) .

An older motel style that needs immediate updates. Breakfast was typical hotel continental style. Beds were ok. Room was dated and smelly. Felt like they use a tone of air freshener to hide ancient smells. Hot tub was Luke warm. Pool and hot tub area needs repairs and upgrades to surfaces. I was expecting more. Photos don’t tell the entire story.

Worse hotel ever! Total dump! Old and worn down - room was dirty and many things were broken. Breakfast was unsanitary open and uncovered food. Office center broken, coffee pot broken, room TV works off cable box and front desk had to come to room to manually reset to make it work.
