Le Piaggiole, Cavriglia, Arezzo and Cortona

A beautiful isolated country house whose design is a tasteful balance of the old and the new. Surrounded by lush trees, vineyards and fields, Le Piaggiole a peaceful place, made all the more idyllic by the presence of bird-song and a trio of terraces to dine al fresco. There are great views across the hills and vineyards, but it’s still very private, tucked away from the rest of the world in its own secluded space. The gardens are arranged with elegant flowerbeds and the swimming pool is furnished with cushioned sunloungers.

The three terraces at Le Piaggiole are set beneath a pair of sheltered pergolas. The front terrace features a wooden table with six chairs. The rear terrace also features a wooden table, this one with eight chairs, as well as a separate seating area with benches and a coffee table. The sight of the carefully aligned lush plants and flowers can be enjoyed from both of these pergolas. Another terrace is beside the pool, with a wooden table and six chairs. On the first floor, there is a balcony with terracotta floors and iron barriers. The interior has the design of a cosy, but spacious country house, with antique furniture and high ceilings.



A bright and homely sanctuary in the Arezzo province, Le Piaggiole is ideal for a group of up to 8 people who want to hide away from the busy world. Elegant, with a charming sense of character, there’s ample room to sprawl on the lawn, wander in the olive grove or chill by the pool with its gazebo and sunloungers. The dining room and lounge combination is a real highlight here. With a sleek home-made dining table, and windows that span the length of the room to reveal lush green views across the fields, this is a great place to gather after a long day of sightseeing and swimming.

Notes

There is a large shed near the property used for storage. The owner does not use it while guests are staying at the villa. 

A freshwater dispenser is in the kitchen which provides still and sparkling drinking water.
