Clean and modern hotel, right in the centre of Catania. Quick check in and we got an upgrade to a bigger room. Room had 2 bedrooms, good beds, two TVs, a fridge, safe, and nice bathroom. Balcony with a view of some nearby apartments/city area. Good fresh breakfast with some highlights (bacon, eggs and local cakes were especially good); additional fee for having breakfast on the rooftop terrace applies (nice view of the Etna volcano!). One night we had the appetizer buffet on the rooftop terrace, which comes with any drink (for 15 Euro total), a nice deal. Valet parking was 20 Euro per night, and car was brought quickly in front of the hotel. Great staff all around. Only issues were the so-so wifi in the room, and some weird machine noise that went on for most of the day and night (a repeated whirring noise which sounded like tires from race cars being replaced, although I'm sure it was something else).
We stayed here for two nights in October and it was perfect for our needs. It is on the main shopping drag of Catania (Via Etna) and a stroll either way is relaxing and enjoyable. It is mostly a tourist hotel popular with higher-end, smaller tours, though it has its share of Italians as well. Almost all the staff speak reasonable English and all were friendly and polite. Our room was large and comfortable with a good bath and great tub and shower. There was Valet parking (20 Euros a night). Breakfast buffet was good, though not as varied as other we have had in Italy. We would stay there again.
Whenever we go to Catania, we always book at this hotel. But the last time we visited, we found out, to our surprise, that the Una hotels have joined with the Ata hotels. Initially, I was a bit sceptic towards this new event. It is true, I am one of those that are not very fond of surprises and innovations, as usually I get the opposite effect. Nonetheless, after all this talking, I have to admit that I never expected that something which is already outstanding can manage to keep its high standards also after having two companies that joined together. Believe me if I say that if there was any place of improvement (and already this hotel had full points in cleaning, high level of professionalism in all sectors being at the reception area or at the restaurant or anywhere else, excellent service and so on and so forth) they managed to improve it as well. As always, we thank you for making our stay in Catania exceptional.
This is a great location and a wonderful comfortable hotel for exploring the center of Catania on foot. We were warmly welcomed to very comfortable rooms with the best bath in Europe, and a lovely retreat on the rooftop where we escaped to relax after a long day of exploring sites. We had dinner up there too and it was delicious. The staff throughout were most hospitable, the amenities were top notch. Great full Breakfast on the second floor with a whole basket of special gluten free food for those who are sensitive and even hot bacon and eggs. But also an option for an additional fee of a breakfast on the roof terrace. We liked the proximity for shopping along the street, as well as the closeness to the Piazza del Duomo.
If you are looking for somewhere close to the airport this hotel fits the bill. Good comfortable rooms, excellent service at breakfast and reasonably priced valet parking. Being in central Catania it was a great base to explore, within walking distance of the main attractions and good restaurants. The view of Mount Etna from the roof terrace is amazing and a great place for a pre dinner drink.
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a Titan tour. The hotel is lovely and conveniently situated for all the attractions. The room was lovely and clean and very quiet. We were on the fourth floor at the back. Lovely white linen on the beds, which are firm, and for us, very comfortable. There were the usual toiletries but no coffee/tea making facilities. However, some people did have these. We always bring our own kettle so it wasn't a problem. The biggest disappointment was the food, as we had an evening meal on one night. Breakfasts are a bit underwhelming with the usual fare. The coffee is disgusting. However, the biggest complaint was the evening meal. The remarks I am about to make were made by anther contributor on the same trip with the same company in May. So, why hasn't Titan sorted it? It 1 1/2 hours to deliver the first course because the two staff were too busy trying to sell drinks and then people having to sign for them. The first course was a choice of pasta with seafood and minestrone soup which was preordered by the rep. the day before. The pasta was bog standard packet with a tomato sauce and a few bits of black in it, which I presume was the seafood. People who ordered this had eaten it before the soup arrived for the others. The soup was not minestrone. Boiled vegetables in water with no seasoning. Horrible. Now the main course beggared belief. Mackerel in a potato crust and glazed carrots. The mackerel was so small and once I had removed the skin and brown belly fat there was nothing left. Potato crust it was not. A splodge of instant mash potato and believe it, or believe it not, tinned carrots. Titan what is going on? If people were complaining about this in May why haven't you and the hotel done something about it? Interestingly, I believe somebody in our group complained on leaving about the food and they were told it was only ever Titan customers who complained about the food.... Interestingly, no other group had an evening meal during our stay. I suggest Titan sort this out.
Everyone was great to deal with at the hotel, and they gave us a free upgrade to our room as well, which was a great bonus. The hotel is in the perfect location, close to all of the sites. We loved our stay at this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
This was a very suitable hotel for our visit; staff very helpful, right on the main street and convenient for all attractions. Bed was very comfortable, food also good - we had breakfast and a dinner. some of our group found it noisy but we had room 619 and heard nothing untoward
We were greeted very well on checking into the hotel. The room was comfortable as was the bed. We were upgraded to a suite but it was an odd arrangement with a sofa and bathroom downstairs , and upstairs was the bedroom on an open plan floor with another bathroom and dressing room. This was an unusual arrangement which made it feel as if the bed was on a platform and the TV high up on the opposite wall, but comfortable enough. My only complaint was the street noise which was bad, hard to get a good nights sleep and the main road only seemed to go quiet in the very early hours. Best to book a room away from the front and main street, or ear plugs. Restaurant and breakfast was good, and of course you can see Etna, on a good day.
