I stayed in this hotel just for one night in Catania since I had to travel to another place. The hotel is located in the centre of Catania and one can see all the main attractions by walk including the Duomo, the Teatro Romano, Fish Market and also do some shopping in Via Etnea. Breakast was also good :)
In maybe the best location in Catania, in the historical centre, with very nice rooms with fresh style und very quite!!!, and good breakfast. The reception was very friendly and helpful. I loved more all the good things in Catania and I want to come back again...
We stayed at Il Príncipe hotel to begin our tour of Sicily. The hotel is not located on a Main Street however the location is very central for walking to the piazza deal dumo, the duomo and for shopping. It is located close to Via Entea where you can stroll along past the shops to Villa Berlini which a very pretty gardens. If thirsty stroll across the road to Bar Spinella for a cold drink, ice cream, coffee or if you are peckish a snack. There are also many restaurants very close by. We felt both safe and comfortable walking around this area. The hotel room was a bit small however it was comfortable and Gabrielle at reception was extremely helpful.
This is tucked away in a backstreet behind the main square and only really accessible by local taxi drivers or expert minicoaches. The room was good, the air conditioning worked and hotel reception staff were helpful. The buffet breakfast was adequate, but (a tip) get there soon after it starts as the food items get cold, or hot, as time goes by - do you want warm fruit juice or cold scrambled eggs? - then go later. The rest was OK.
We stayed in this hotel as part of a VJV tour, Treasures of Sicily at the end of June 2017. The hotel has an odd layout, being split over 2 sides of the street, with a corridor joining the 2 parts that runs under the steps outside. The room was functional, reasonably large and clean. The bed was nice and comfortable. However, the breakfast was terrible, was runny scrambled eggs etc. I found it difficult to find something nice to eat. The hotel is very well situated for walking to the main square and the fish market and various restaurants. Overall it was fine for our 2 night stay.
This hotel is so close to the Duomo, Fish Market and the Greco-Roman ruins! It is perfectly situated for seeing Catania. We had a rental car, drove to the hotel and they parked it which was a huge bonus in a very congested area. The front desk personnel were accommodating but not all were particularly friendly. The room was very clean and the air conditioning worked great which was perfect since it was in the high 80's when we were there. The only reason I gave it four stars were the shower issues and blow dryer issues. We were never able to get the water temperature right. We would set it and then it would be too hot or too cold. And it happened every time in the shower. The blow dryer didn't work at all. We would definitely stay there again.
A city centre hotel on a narrow street in Catania, we stayed for 2 nights as part of a group tour. The hotel is situated in a narrow street, a short walking distance from the Cathedral and many varied cafes and restaurants. This was a quirky hotel stylistically, split across both sides of the street, with a mix of room sizes and shapes. Our room was narrow with a steeply sloped ceiling, with a king sized bed but only a small shower room. No balcony, our patio doors led out onto the fire escape, although with a view across the rooftops. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, particularly our reception check in. There was a reasonable breakfast buffet provided.
This hotel is in the middle of Catania. We stayed here 2 non-consecutive nights in June. It is an old building, with high ceilings, but it has been renovated. The breakfast was included and was excellent. This is a fine place to stay in Catania.
Lovely hotel in a very central location. Breakfast was the same each morning we were there(7) and in a country like Sicily, you would expect a variety of fresh fruit to be available. The staff at reception were helpful if not always friendly. The staff in the breakfast room were very unhappy and seemed to resent being there. It's Italy so you just go with it.
A lovely hotel, nice room but the breakfast was awful we should have eaten elsewhere and not wasted our euro on the hotel breakfast, cold even tea and coffee cold teapots leaking cups cracked and dirty no toast no orange juice or fruit to have with cereal.
