1. Super convenient location - located 2 blocks away from the Porta Uzeda (gate / opening to the main square of the city) 2. Super unique venue - located *inside* the city walls 3. Incredible architecture + new, stunning finishes - vaulted, gothic ceilings + exposed brick 4. key code entry to front door + hotel room - no need to carry around a key / card 5. Friendly and helpful staff cons - there are 2 thermostats which are not labeled which turn out to be for normal cold (europeans) and super cold (americans). it was difficult to maneuver them even after a lesson from the staff - the shower attempts to be high-end with hammam capabilities. lots of buttons without a Legend (despite a lesson from staff on check-in) - ended up turning the entire bathroom into a steam room inadvertently Overall would recommend to a friend and would stay again if returned to Catania.

The staff here are amazing!! The rooms are very large and quiet. The hotel is located extremely close to the historic area of Cantania with a lot of restaurants, shops, etc. I highly recommend this hotel-a true gem, especially when the staff is so remarkable!

Highly recommend Bastio Private Suites Hotel!

We absolutely loved our stay! It was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel is very central in the heart of Catania, walking distance to all the major sites. The rooms are impeccable - we loved the in-room tub/jacuzzi which provided amazing relaxation after a long day at Etna. The staff are wonderful and kind. Loved our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Bastio Private Suites. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The room was fantastic for a family. Great breakfast - my kids loved the range and the granita in particular! Great location as well.

Exceptional Hospitality and a Truly Unique Stay in Catania Our stay in Catania was unforgettable, thanks to the one-of-a-kind room inspired by Mt. Etna's black lava—a stunning and creative design that made the experience feel truly special. There was even a luxurious sauna. Victoria and the entire staff went above and beyond in every way, making us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived. With limited knowledge of the local language, we relied on their help to check in for our flight and confirm tour reservations—nothing was ever too much to ask. Victoria even recommended a fantastic beach resort for our day at San Lorenzo Beach. The level of service and hospitality was simply outstanding—it truly doesn’t get better than this.

Beautiful hotel

We stayed here for just two nights while on our honeymoon, but we wish we had stayed longer. This is definitely the nicest hotel in Catania. The entrance is a little unassuming, but once we were greeted everything was perfect. The employees are very nice and accommodating. We were filled in on the incredible history of the hotel. Our room was breathtaking, featuring a jacuzzi tub and a balcony. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Catania.

Luxury and welcoming in equal measures

We had a fabulous stay! Victoria was lovely and welcoming when we arrived. The room felt very spacious and luxurious. Breakfast was just enough, with a variety of foods. Because there are only 5 rooms it is intimate and quiet.
