Driving into town, the hotel was very easy to find due to many sign posts around the streets. Room was adequate, clean and well supplied. The breakfast buffet was good but could have had fresher hot items. Cold items, juices, and the breads were very good. All the staff we spoke with were very friendly and helpful. Underground parking on site. Many restaurants, bars and cafes all within easy walking distance. Had to sit in the lobby (no big deal) to get good Wi-Fi. Recommended.
Stayed for three nights for a friend's wedding, the room was adequate and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Parking is available under the hotel (which is free) and it is not far to walk to local attractions and restaurants/cafes.
Nothing special to say about this hotel. Breakfast was dreadful, no variety, nothing fresh like fruit or juice... Location was quite handy for my purpose and the staff were professional. I will look for other options if I need to come back.
We love this hotel. Stayed in September 2016. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, the staff were so delightful and helpful, they made us feel so welcome. All area are spotless and shining clean. Our bedroom, we liked very much on the front with a balcony. Food good, loved the breakfast. Parking in the garage can be a little tight, but we managed every evening to find a space. We personally can find no fault with this delightful hotel. Going back to stay there again in a couple of weeks time , cant wait. See you very soon Hotel Rainha D. Amelia.
Was the best thing going for this hotel the poor waitress was rushed off her feet and no one seemed to want to help her half of the things that were supposed to be in the room were not there there may be good hotels in castelo branco but this was not one of them
It was my third stay in Rianha d Amelia. As usually very friendly reception staff, nice and clean room with air con, forty channels in TV and quick internet. Private parking with a lot of space. Simple but tasty breakfasts and great dinners. Hotel in the centre with easy access to any place of the city.
I´ve been here before and this hotel has the warm and welcoming charm that keeps me coming back to the same place. The staff are friendly and helpful, they have excelent sugestions to your every need. The rooms are perfectly kept, very clean and have everything you need. The restaraunt is a bit pricey in comparrason to the nearby offers but the food is worth it.
It must be said that this hotel is a little "faded", but the agreeable staff told us that upgrades were in the pipelines after having severed their links with Best Western at the start of the year. If you're considering staying here, set your expectations appropriately - this isn't 5-star luxury, but nor does it charge 5-star prices. So I go through my "checklist" of what I expect when I stay in an hotel... * Decent nights sleep - tick - the beds were comfortable - the (individually controlled) air-conditioning unit worked and got the job done (the room was warm when we arrived) quickly * Good shower - tick - decent flow of very hot water * Good location - tick - Castelo Branco is a bit of a sprawly town, but this is as well located as any, I think, and fairly near the "centre" * Parking - I'm not a fan of underground parking, but this was easy to find (GPS took us straight there), and easy to get in and out of * Breakfast - tick (just) - excellent hotel breakfasts are, in my experience, hard to come by, but this was enough to get us going and on our way - nice bread, lots of bacon, eggs (I prefer fried, and these were scrambled, but that's a personal matter), terrible coffee, as almost always, lots of juice, ham, cheese, jams etc We were here for one night for a concert, and this hotel suited our needs perfectly - when we come again, we'll look at other offerings, but wouldn't be at all unhappy to stay here again.
This is a three stars hotel which doesn’t have anything special to point out neither any very negative aspect to underline. Although the prices are not very high considering the quality the hotel provides with more hotel competition in the city the prices would probably come down in some periods/months.
We have stayed in plenty of Best Westerns in the USA, but never in Europe before and when we booked this one weren't sure what we were letting ourselves in for as it seemed very cheap. But what a lovely surprise when we arrived. It doesn't look much from the outside, but once we had parked the car in the free underground secure car park and got into our very large, very clean and luxurious room with free WiFi we knew we had booked the right the place. There is not a great deal to do in the immediate vicinity, but there is a very nice little bar just down the hill with a lovely old gentleman waiter who couldn't do enough for us (despite the language barrier). The historical town is within easy walking distance and well worth a visit. Breakfast is very good at the hotel and we had one evening meal there which was also excellent and very cheap. If you are visiting or just travelling through this is a perfect hotel and very reasonably priced - thanks for a great stay.
