Lovely stay! The Etna views from our room and the hotel in general were amazing. Really helpful staff and easy to get into Taormina. Short stroll up the hill and you’re in Castelmola which is also a beautiful little town. Would definitely recommend staying.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The views were spectacular! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The restaurant was amazing! Pool area could be updated and they should have a waiter or waitress that goes around. They should have something to get rid of the bees! We couldn’t have breakfast outside in the morning because of all the bees! Breakfast was great but more hot options would have been better.

I cannot fault the hotel. It’s situated in a beautiful spot above Taormina called CastelMola. The hotel is stunningly rustic with jaw dropping views of Mount Etna and the surrounding mountains. The hotel staff were so helpful, kind and fun. The hotel has a great breakfast and is two mins walk from CastelMola village which has great shops and a few lovely restaurants. I am so glad we stayed here rather in the heart of Taormina. It was just perfect.

Situated in the beautiful village of Castlemola, this comfortable hotel offers unrivalled views of Mount Etna. Well worth getting a room with a balcony and mountain view. Breakfast was good and varied and the staff extremely accommodating. A few of our evening meals were taken at the nearby Caverna restaurant which is also owned by the hotel (with discount available for guests). A great walk down to Taormina was well worth the effort but keep an eye on the bus times as Taxis can be expensive. All in all, an absolutely delightful stay.

Beautiful Castelmola

Great, friendly staff who know how to properly treat their guests. Beautiful views from the restaurant, pool area and our room of Mount Etna. The full breakfast buffet was incredible. In the evenings/night it was absolutely quiet outside. We took the Interbus to/from Taormina bus station, for 1.90 euros. It stops right in front of Villa Sonia Hotel ! Castelmola is an interesting community with many shops and restaurants. We took the walking trail down to Taormina

The hotel is about 20 minutes up a very steep and winding road above Taorimina so it's not convenient to go back and forth. The decor is dated, but the hotel has an old world charm and the setting is beautiful. The back of the hotel looks at Mount Etna and the wonderful pool faces it too. The breakfast was nice and had typical Sicilian pastries. They could update the decorations in the rooms and lobby.

A good spot above Taormina. Runs shuttle bus to the town. Rooms are OK. Our was a little run down with a loud grinding air conditioner, and a leaking faucet. The staff are very hard working both at the hotel and in the evening at the restaurant. Breakfasts are good, and the pool is very good. Good parking available across the street under ground. Easy access to Castelmolo by walking up some stairs.
