Superb menu on weekdays for 15€. The restaurant is in one of the ten most beautiful villages/towns in Catalonia. It highly recommend it. Castellfollit de la Roca is an amazing village located on a cliff.
This is a nice, friendly basic hotel in the centre of this village spectacularly perched on a rock outcrop. Daisy and her crew behind the bar offer great hospitality. Rooms are nothing fancy but they are quiet and clean and feature own bathroom, TV and AC. Ample parking at the rear. We ordered a nice breakfast in the bar on both days. I had problems connecting to Wi-Fi on second floor but my friend was fine on first. Recommended.
ti is tranquile, clean wifi works and most important Ramon is an incredible chef ... Daisy is caring, charming and efficient . The entire staff iis warm and sweet, Noel and Eric please forgive me if I misspell the names. I can hardly wait to go back!
Really good value for money. Rooms simples but clean, staff really welcoming and helpful. I made a mistake in the booking but they managed to find a room for us anyway. Restaurant is delicious. I definitely recommend the place!
I was impressed when visiting this pueblo de Catalunya, built for defense reasons on top of a steep volcanic rock. The scenery in the valley is utmost and the climate on top of the ountain very good in the Spring and Autumn. I was not there in the winter, but it seems to be chilly. The cuisne in all restaurantes (only two or three) is of the best catalan example although the prices are about a third as compared with Barcelona. Accomodations are simple but quite clean and confortable in such medieval townt. We came from and to Barcelona, say in two hours. Next time I will drive West to visit Sant Martí de Malda, where tradiotional fresh olive oil is milled for many a century...
There is so much to see in Catalunya. You'd be forgiven for missing Castellfollit de la Roca. Yet, it is a charming Catalan town, with Roman ruins, an attractive landscape, a well conserved old town, and generally a pleasant place. We stayed at Fonda Ca La Paula as it was the place listed on Booking.com. The hotel well pretty much a country / small town hotel. The room was neat and clean with a nice view. The staff were helpful, spoke English and were pleasant the whole time. The big surprise was the menu. They specialise in local meat dishes and have a really broad menu with many special dishes on it. I had the best artichoke starter that I've ever had - with a light mustard sauce and perfect artichokes (none of those difficult woody bits). We were impressed.
We had three nights at Ca La Paula in this extraordinary town perched on top of a steep cliff. The hotel is central with its own car park which is a huge plus. The rooms are simple and clean and ours looked out over green forest. The owner is a very kind man who made our stay so memorable with his hospitality. The staff are very helpful and the food is good. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to people looking for something honest and good. It is also a great starting point for exploring the region including the volcanic zone and ancient medieval villages.
In a town with limited accommodation this was a welcome option. Good room but the real selling oint is the very helpful and friendly proprietor and staff. Reasonably priced room and food all made for good package.
We've used this hotel twice now as a base when visiting the La Garrotxa volcanic park, and we're sure to stay again. Both times we've booked an en-suite room on half-board basis. Rooms are basic but very clean, with a small TV and a good hot shower. The hotel has a large bar area and restaurant serving very good, hearty meals and there's no skimping on the breakfast either. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, a great base for a couple of nights and good value for money.
Pasamos la noche en una habitación más que justita, limpia pero dejaba bastante que desear, la medida de las sábanas justo cubría la cama y el aire acondicionado solo se notaba si estabas justo enfrente. Por lo demás el trato del personal correcto.
