Horrific, shocked & totally dissatisfied

We booked this property in early March 2023 for 5 days. We were coming from the USA for the first time to visit Italy. When we arrived we messaged the owner to find out what we had to do to check in. On the night before we were to arrive we received a response saying they overbooked and we would receive a full refund. WE WERE TOTALLY SHOCKED!!!! We had no place to go!!!! We called VRBO to inform them of our dilemma. They said they would try to help find another place. We quickly found our own place which was 100% better than this rental. The owner of this property should be banned from renting out this unit if he continues to deviate his potential renters like he did to us. HE SHOULD OF NOTIFIED US SOONER!!!!! As noted we booked & paid in full for 3 months in advance. He canceled us less than 48 hours. He NEVER even contacted us. It took us to find out we had no place to go. VRBO should band this guy. Stay away from this rental.
