Cottage on Tuscan Agriturismo close to a village

Noce is a converted little house by a Tuscan farm, with a village within walking distance, a swimming pool at the bottom of the garden, and well placed to explore central Tuscany, Siena, Chianti, Monterriggioni and more; these are just a few of the reasons so many of our clients choose to stay in Noce. Set on a small working farm, this small, converted hay barn has its own private patio, overlooking the farm's land.

Being close to a village is a wonderful experience: you are in your own little parcel of countryside but a brief walk will take you into Casole d'Elsa, which boasts several cafes and restaurants, a couple of grocery stores, and even a couple of tiny art galleries for resident artists. Walk up for breakfast, then buy some fresh produce and wander home for a fresh lunch and spend the afternoon by the pool; it's a real Tuscan delight.

The walk into the village is just over 1km and takes between 15 and 20 minutes. It's uphill on the way in, but there is a lift to help you up the last steepest climb.

This sweet detached cottage, whose front door facing the field allows for extra privacy, has a furnished garden patio set in the shade of an olive tree. The arched doorway leads into a large kitchen/dining-room with sofa and corner fireplace, while a short corridor leading off the living area accesses both a double bedroom and a shower room. The views over the Chianti hills are stunning and the walk to the pool set amongst olive trees and grapevines is always enticing. A perfect accommodation for a couple seeking authentic Tuscany.

At the front of the farm, a path leads down to the large swimming pool, all within a gentle, evocative framework of vineyards and olive trees. With a wide, travertine-tiled surround, and plenty of sun loungers, the swimming pool is a soft ochre colour, blending comfortably with the olive groves and vineyards. Set in a delightful position down the hillside from the farm, it has extensive and beautiful views across to the Chianti hills.

Should you wish to venture further afield, San Gimignano with its famous towers is half an hour's drive away, Siena is under an hour, all through landscape that seems lifted straight out of a renaissance fresco.
The villa is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and space to spread out with a separate bedroom. The villa also includes a coffee maker.

Lovely quiet property on a vineyard near a beautiful hill town.

Perfect for a couple wanting a quiet relaxing holiday. Lovely pool and easy walk into Casole D’Elsa where there are a few bars and restaurants. Ideally positioned for visiting Sienna, Volterra, San Gimignano and other beautiful places. Cottage fulfilled our basic needs although the mattress was extremely hard!

Simple charm

Noce’s view from the dappled terrace is good for the soul: past the vineyard - harvested while we stayed- across the pool, and then to the wide beauties of Tuscany. Don’t expect sophistication here; it is simple easy rural living, with cheerful unobtrusive hosts, and wonderful quiet. However we were charmed by Casole d’Elsa, the nearby village, a maze of twisty streets full of art, and with a couple of seriously good restaurants. Live jazz on my birthday at Casolani restaurant, with Montepulciano in hand, was a treat! Lots of other delights are within easy reach: Volterra and Siena for stunning art and architecture of course, but lots of medieval hilltop villages of great interest too. If you’re in Colle Val d’Elsa, try the glass museum, but definitely do not miss Barbagianni, a stunningly good restaurant in the old town. We loved our stay at Noce and would recommend it to anyone wanting a simple happy cottage.

A week in Noce

We spent seven nights here and it was one of the best holidays ever! Communications from Katia from our arrival at Pisa and throughout our stay were excellent. Both her and her sister in law provided great customer service. The little cottage was warm and inviting, perfectly equiped for a self catering holiday. The furnishings reflected Tuscan style, dinning table and chairs, a comfy sofa and on the olive tree shaded terrace a bistro table and chairs along with two perfect sun loungers, just right for a relaxing al fresco lunch or dinner. There is one bedroom with a comfortable king size bed. Lastly there is a small batheroom with a great and powerfull shower (towels provided) A nice welcomming touch was the complimentary bottle of the farms own white wine! There is a large unheated swimming pool on the estate equipped with plentyful sunloungers, deckchairs and parasols. There is a bar within walking distance (5 mins) that serves great pizza (to be expected) and the nearby hilltop village of Casole d Elasa has some great restaurants, a museum and art galleries. We had a great relaxing time there and would highly recommend Agriturismo Agresto
