Bring your furry friends because Dogs are Allowed at the Purple Pelican, an Oceanfront single-family home much beloved by long-time residents of Carolina Beach. You will be nestled into a one-way street close to the Carolina Beach Farmer’s Market, Carolina Lake, and Veggie Wagon. Enjoy raucous family time or quiet privacy undisturbed in your covered porch with a private sunken hot tub, and a private boardwalk to the beach. This quintessential floorplan features a great room with four corner bedrooms and two jack n' jill bathrooms. Make your vacation simple, homey, cozy, and directly focused on the beach. Feel free to bring Grandparents, or recuperate from surgery here at the ocean: our front porch has a lift elevator! Take an easy stroll down the beach to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Enjoy the front-seat view of weekly fireworks from our raised benches in the dunes. If you are staying in, cook in our fully equipped kitchen. The whole family will enjoy our games and puzzles; and children’s toys and books. You'll want to make this your forever vacation home: Purple Pelican is one of the last few remaining private beach cottages on the oceanfront at Carolina Beach, just waiting to make you part of the family!  



Ground Level: Covered parking for 4-5 vehicles under the house and on the parking pad. Washer and Dryer closet. Stairs to the beach boardwalk. Stairs to the front porch. The elevator lifts to the front porch.



Level 2: 

Kitchen: Fully equipped, Electric range with hood, Microwave, Side by side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, hanging pot rack, seating for 4 at the kitchen island.

Dining Area: Dining table with seating for 6 

Living Room: New sectional sofa, side chairs, occasional tables, games and books, Smart TV with DVD player, entrance door to porch

Two bedrooms share Jack n Jill bathrooms on each side of the living room:

Bedroom 1: Queen Bed, TV, Ceiling fan

Bathroom 1: Single Vanity, Bathtub with Shower, Toilet 

Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, TV, Ceiling Fan, Oceanfront View

Linens - Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages and laying on the end of the beds. 



Rental Policies:

In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.



Things to bring:

Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.



Arrival/Departure:

Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm

Check-out is by 10 am. 

We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities 

No smoking

You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.



Elevator Policies:

Please note, the elevator is for convenience only and does not guarantee ADA Compliance or Wheelchair accessibility. Although elevators are checked on a regular basis, Sea Coast Rentals/Owners will not be held accountable if the elevator is not operating or functioning properly during your stay. No refunds will be issued for these closures. 



Pet Policy:

Dogs allowed. The first dog is included in the price of the Rental. Subsequent dogs are subject to an additional payment and restrictions! Carolina and Kure Beaches are pet-friendly, but you must follow town guidelines. Please check the town website for beach pet restrictions.



We want to make sure you’re aware of our cancellation policy. If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund.  If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.



Things to do:

Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a quaint little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum which features live oak-covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famous Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!
