Firstly we were given a terrible room that was not what we saw on the picture described in Expedia. I am a Platinum member and Expedia did not inform this to the hotel. Our room the first night was under the 20 square meters they say it had. It had tiny windows, small and clausthrophobic all noises were heard in that room from hallways and room next door. Shower was ridiculous we did not even shower this first night. We complained about this room though some staff tried to help by calling Expedia, nothing was resolved based on the high price paid for this first night. We managed to change to a better room Saturday after noon but the hassle of moving and dealing with this impaired us from enjoying the day. We spoke to the Manager and he assured would speak to Expedia and figure something out. We expected some consideration and adjustment of the price for the first night as €372 for a room that in two days was around €60 was a rip off. I am very dissapointed with Expedia as my trusted agency and being a Platinum member and the Manager of this hotel that did not do anything regarding the fair discount we asked for the first night Which was a terrible Experience between the cramped space and all that noise.

What a gorgeous place. Staying there is an experience in itself. The staff were incredible, the room was gorgeous and very clean, the spa was extremely relaxing, the wine tasting experience was so fun (Matteo was very knowledgeable) and the dinner was superb. I wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms in the village are fresh and clean. The walk to the hotel was pleasant and looking at the views are stunning. The staff are all professional and curtious. Beautiful location on top of a hill in Tuscany. Staff was very accommodating. Sadly the room we were given was much smaller than the booking websites suggested and they didn’t have any other options in the same price range. The experience itself would likely be much better for families but us as a couple it didn’t feel very authentic and very much like a generic luxury resort that just happened to be in Tuscany. The food was expensive for the quality and the village where most of the rooms are doesn’t feel genuine since most of properties seem to be part of this hotel. The restaurant options are limited and clearly tailored around the half board experience which we’re not massive fans of. Maybe if we’d done more research we would’ve known. Overall I can’t fault it as a hotel experience but as a authentic Tuscan on it falls short and we wouldn’t go again.

Property is beautiful everywhere you turn, straight out of a movie! Hotel is located at the top of a mountain and you get to over see the vineyards and cities., absolutely beautiful views. The only downside is the hotel only has 2 restaurants that offer diner and they alternate on which night they are opened, you also need reservations in advance and even then tables with a view are not guaranteed.

Beautiful hotel, with convenient to village. Restaurant in village best ravioli of our entire 12 days trip. Villa was lovely, comfortable and decorated beautifully. Would highly recommend. Though our villas was not walkable to the main hotel, it was peaceful and restful stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellet place

Excellent option. Only some issues with the room service. We were three in each of the rooms and there was no chance to make the personnel that prepared/cleaned the rooms to understand they needed to give un plates and cups for three people. Also had to ask for toillet paper. On the contrary the personnel at the breakfast area was absolutelly great. In particular Mrs Tyss, she was really kind and attentive.

Property is beautiful but rooms used to be stable and are too small, old, and without amenities and inconvenient. Oh and there's no air conditioner

We stayed in a villa a little bit down the hill. It was quaint and comfortable. We enjoyed the olive trees and the overall placement of the Villa de Medici. I would recommend this as a getaway for you alone or to take a group of friends or family. The food is excellent. The staff is wonderful and I would stay here again on my next trip to Italy.

Amazingly kept historic buildings and apartments around and within an adorable old town. Beautiful property, excellent restaurants, but best of all was the hospitality of the staff.
