The Song of the River – Charming holiday home in Ariège, in the heart of nature



Treat yourselves to a unique getaway in an exceptional and peaceful setting! Located just 20 km from Montségur Castle, 31 km from the Monts d’Olmes, and close to Foix (18 km) as well as the medieval town of Mirepoix (23 km), The Song of the River is an authentic holiday home set in a former horn comb factory, a place full of history.



This warm and comfortable holiday home, designed for 2 people, offers the friendly atmosphere of a family house. Inside, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, and a bright veranda. Bed linen is provided, and wood is available in winter. There are no cleaning fees, but you are asked to leave the place clean and tidy.



You will enjoy a unique stay on the banks of the Douctouyre river, lulled by the sound of the water and surrounded by hiking trails accessible right from the door.



Experiences to enjoy on site: canoe available to explore the river, evenings by the fire or in the veranda, and guided tours in a vintage car to discover secret and little-known sites of Ariège, accompanied by local anecdotes (available for an extra charge).



Pets are allowed: only one well-behaved dog is permitted under certain conditions (no staying alone in the house, cleanliness respected, any damages covered).



The exceptional natural setting allows for hikes right from the holiday home, discovering the Roquefort waterfalls 2.5 km away on foot, as well as the local heritage: castles, royal fortresses of Languedoc formerly known as Cathar castles, mills, museums, and typical villages. J'étais enchanté par ce petit paradis dans le creux d'une vallée. Les propriétaires sont à l'image de ce petit coin douillet. Très accueillant et soucieux de faire plaisir. Nicole et sa 2 chevaux m 'ont fait passer un merveilleux moment dans la région. C'est un lieu de vie que je recommande fortement et en plus on y dort très bien.
