Excellent hotel - we could not fault a thing during out stay, excellent location a few minutes walk from the Central train station, great welcome and check in, lovely clean and well maintained room. breakfast one of the best we have had for choice and freshness, all served in a room dedicated to Scott of the Antarctic with wood panels and some history if you want to read it whilst the toast is toasting. Staff are brilliant as well, nothing too much trouble. We did a room upgrade for £20 and that was very worth it just for the extra space and a sofa in the room. Lots of people out in town on the Friday night but noise not a problem, we slept very well in a lovely bed, Hihly recommended.
I booked 2 nights in january and returned for 4 nights in february. Cardiff is my home town and I think this hotel is the best possible location: 200 yards from both the train station and the airport shuttle and bang in the middle of town. Excellent value. Like Arnold said, "I´ll be back".
This hotel in in a really great location bang in the centre of Cardiff. It's not a luxurious hotel (although the tv in my room was MASSIVE) but it offers great value if you're not looking for frills. The staff are a real delight, especially the lovely lady from the Phillipines who helped me out when I messed up the settings on the safe in my room. A true star. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that, but for the amount I paid I was very happy with the accommodation and the general friendly vibe of the place.
Stayed here for my partners 21st in the cinema room. I especially requested for the one with the Star Wars print and it wasn’t a problem. They even left him a little happy birthday card which I thought was a wonderful touch. I also asked if it was possible to get some 21st birthday balloons and I would pay upon my arrival. It looks fabulous and would definitely stay there again!!
Great location, friendly, helpful staff. We had been to the Bay to see a show, but wanted to stay in town, spot on to be fair. Nice rooms although we were at the top - 7th floor, great view!!!! Facilities good, issue with the water pressure in the shower, but a quick call to reception and all was sorted. Would recommend the hotel to anyone really, family, couples, etc. Just a stone throw from the Brewery Quarter, Principality Stadium, excellent location, although not sure how noisy it could be on the weekends with the city night life. I will be back to try out on future stays though, so will keep you posted!!!
Recent visit for 21st birthday gathering, upon arrival very helpful with room whereabouts and found out where the location of our evening gathering was for us. Room was good standard and nicely decorated, no noise from the road outside. Would defiantly stay again and recommend a visit.
Good room, good bathroom, very good breakfast, all for a reasonable price. The experience would be better if the windows would not be so dirty that is difficult to look through and if the wifi would be better. In addition the telephone set in my room did not work (cable missing). Also a better information at the entry indicating the there is a lift on the other side of the corridor would be helpful (reception is in the second floor).
Recently renovated room as well as reception and the bar areas. Clean and tidy throughout. Excellent direct rates. Dual entrance with loading bay parking means you can off load baggage directly in to lifts. Hotel has half price city parking within walking distance. Would recommend and will stay again. - I am a holiday complex owner in Western Australia
Hotel is very central, although this means it can get noisy. Our room was OK but outer window didn't close (painted in) and staff informed but nothing done. Towel rail hanging off. Couldn't turn shower off so had to report it. All looking rather tired.
The Hotel is situated within walking distance of main railway station. Short walk from city center, especially when you get to know your way around you can take short cuts through the 2 Arcades which link the two streets. Plenty of buses just around the corner (especially to University Hospital of Wales) I used this hotel to stay at when my husband was in hospital. It meant that I could access the city quickly for food etc. Also Taxi ranks at the station or sometimes just around the Hotel. The Hotel clean and comfortable, friendly staff. The reception is a little difficult to find as you come in the front door, go down stairs for the lift to take you up to the reception. There is a back entrance from the other street which leads you via a passageway (no Steps if steps are a problem.) to the lift. Would use this Hotel again.
