The Royal Hotel Cardiff

Very old fashioned. Clean but lacking any atmosphere. Tiny room and awful bathroom - the shower leaked all over the floor and dripped all night, the tiles were cracked. Lack of sockets in the bedroom. I cant even describe the breakfast - dismal. Overlooked main road which had a beer delivery at the crack of dawn so very noisy. Very expensive during graduate week of Cardiff University and certainly not worth the cost. Disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Had a sweet escape from London for few days and chose The Royal Hotel@Cardiff. The hotel itself is located in lovely busy street, all clubs, coffee shops, shopping centres just at hands reach. Park to jog is 10min away. I stayed on 4th floor, room facing street, no noise. The room had good pressure shower and bath. Plenty of towels and coffee facilities in room. Loved that the BeeKind products were left at bathroom, smelled really nice. 12 o'clock comp check out given by reception.

Coming from the station, it's literally a few minutes walk.going to the stadium is the same. For a concert, the hotel had made it a theme. Bar stayed open late for return after concert, food being served until late also. Room has good hair dryer, ironing board, iron, tray with tea coffee etc. Fixed safe for your valuables. Bed was super comfy . Place clean and tidy Staff friendly and happy I am returning soon 😊😊

Newly refurbished but quiet establishment run by youngsters who although are very good at their jobs are lacking clear leadership. The place is clean, although some of the finishes are less than desirable paint splattered all over the floor. Location noisy and full of Saturday night revellers. Clean, staff do their best, no sign of management unfortunately would not return.

A lovely stay and although overlooked a Main Street in Cardiff we couldn't hear any noise. Room clean and bed comfortable although a little small it was perfect and would definitely return in the future

We stayed two nights at the Royal Hotel. This is a historic location in the middle of Cardiff Central City. Staff was very pleasant and room attendant was very responsive and caring. The elevators do take a while to reach you as their is only one for the hotel. The hotel itself is dated but the room was comfortable and clean. All of Cardiff is outside your doorstep and the neighborhood can be loud and boisterous due to the many clubs and pubs. The room itself was quiet.

This hotel was a short walk from the station and on the main shopping/restaurant street. We found many interesting pubs and restaurants just steps from the Royal Hotel. Our room was clean with a good view.

Lovely hotel perfect for our stadium visit. Friendly helpful staff. Clean fresh rooms with shower gels, shampoos etc lovely buffet breakfast. They even let you take some good away for later on. Definitely stay again Thank you all!

Amazing hotel. Stayed with friends for the Coldplay concert. 5 mins from the stadium. Staff very helpful & friendly especially Marcus & Toni. Looking forward to receiving Chris Martin in the post!!!! Thanks so much

Overall the hotel was really nice, and the deluxe double room we upgraded to was very spacious. However it says on the website free bottle of wine each night in the deluxe double however this was not provided on the second night. There was only 2 sockets by the bed which made it very hard to charge everything especially as there was no shaver point in the bathroom so we had to charge the electric toothbrush in one of the plugs next to the bed. The floor was very sticky and the bathroom was not clean nor did the towel rail heat up. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the rose petals on the bed were a really lovely touch. Very central and surprisingly quiet for where it is positioned. Biggest negative was that I emailed asking if soya milk could be provided in the room and was told they could only provide it at breakfast so I ended up buying my own.
