Loud (could hear clear words from the room next door), cold (the ac does not work) not the cleanest room (black mould in the bathroom) we’ve stayed in and would not return. Location is good but that’s just about it

The hotel was an affordable and comfortable alternative to the international chains. Located 5 minutes from Cardiff Central train station and five minutes from the Cardiff Castle. Tons of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. And the full English breakfast was solid as well.

A comfortable hotel in an amazing location, close to dozens of pubs and restaurants and a large downtown shopping mall. Just two blocks from the train station and a 15-minute walk to the castle. Lots of local buses. Only complaint was unreliable hot water, for which we deducted one star.

The floor of the room was sticky (also was in the room of a friend) which we assumed was due to the cleaning method or detergent. The mattress was passed its best. There were just two hangers in a double room. In general the hotel facilities seemed tired.

Stayed at The Royal for just 1 night but could have happily stayed for a wk. My bestie + I recieved a lovely welcome frm Reception Staff who promptly checked us in. Our room was bright, spacious + spotlessly clean throughout as can be said for every area of the hotel. Toiletrees + towells provided as well as a kettle, tea + coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious + plentiful serving fresh fruit/juices, cerial, yohurt, a choice of breads + jams along with an ample selection of hot food choices ude expect..my only bugbear was the mushrooms being tinned not fried but no bigee. I would defo stay again 👍 Thankyou to all The Royal Hotel Staff who work to high standards.
