Have to say I am going back to Wales for ONE reason. I have never stayed in a place more awesome where I didn't care that the weather was awful. Jolyon wouldn't bother with the little details if it was in Marbella. You would be out in sun all day. Wales, however, has brightened up my world and this hotel is the reason!
The location is excellent. Just round the corner from lots of bars and restaurants. We took the boat trip round the bay to central Cardiff and spent the day shopping. The hotel itself is lovely. Tastefully and beautifully furnished. The staff were all very friendly and breakfast was fabulous.
My husband and I stayed here to go to a gig in the Millennium Centre. In terms of location, you can't get any closer than this hotel. It is right in the centre of the bay and only a short walk to the water taxi or Cardiff Bay train station, if you want to pop into the centre of Cardiff. There was parking and we were made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious and tastefully and individually decorated. We didn't have breakfast, as we'd been out for a big meal the night before, but it smelled delicious. I've stayed in chain hotels around the Bay before now and they are not so conveniently located. It is great to stay somewhere with a bit of personality. We would definitely use this hotel again. Thank you!
Would return in a whisper . Extremely clean ,welcoming hotel and a fabulous welsh breakfast. Jolyon made you feel very specail and took time to chat and uncover your needs .Perfect position with a small parking area behind
in brief this is a cute beautiful hotel with a lot of thought and love put into it. We are in the compact room on the ground floor and it does us fine its clean and tidy and has a pretty vibe about it. We have looked at the other rooms this morning being a bit nosey and omg wow amazing next time we stay we will be having one of these. The breakfast was amazing and fresh coffee coffee coffee the best made by the owner very nice guy very tall ;) in brief amazing thanks
We had a wonderful couple of days in Cardiff greatly helped by our choice of hotel. Jonothan met us and looked after us with a cheery smile and couldnt have been more hospitable. We were in room 5 which has great views overlooking the Millenium Centre area. The room was clean, comfortable and one of the best hotel beds Ive ever slept in (Queen size). Breakfast also superb, perfectly cooked and it was great to meet and chat with Jolyon (very interesting tales of the buildings past). There is a small parking area at the rear so no need for local car parks. Next time we are in Cardiff, we wont be looking at any other hotels.
Wonderful boutique hotel. Hospitality is unparalleled. As a regular visitor, I am greeted more as a friend than a customer. When away from home on Business it is nice to stay somewhere that is not impersonal. This is my ‘go to’ hotel for trips to Cardiff Bay. Each room is uniquely furnished, luxurious en-suite bathrooms, extremely clean and very comfortable, but also ‘homely’ too. Breakfast is individually prepared to order which is one of the benefits of a small hotel. There is no restaurant for evening meals, but as it is located in the heart of the Bay, there are many bars and restaurants within a few minutes stroll. Ideally located for the Opera House, and Doctor Who exhibition, and for a gentle stroll around the Bay.
You must check out this amazing small boutique hotel . Excellent welcome from Jonathan and amazing full breakfast . ( better than most 5 star hotels ) . Comfortable large bed and bathroom. Rooms with quirky decor and features. Some rooms with views over the millennium centre and oval basin . Superb location for theatre, and all that Cardiff bay has to offer . Can't wait to return soon.
Overall an exquisite little boutique hotel in the heart of Cardiff Bay. I found the pillows to be too hard and really uncomfortable which hindered my nights sleep. Hence the 4 stars and not 5. I would recommend staying here.
Warm and friendly welcome . We arrived early and rang ahead to check if there was a luggage room we could leave our case in but the staff said they would made sure our room was ready in advance of normal check in which we thought was excellent customer service. The hotel is situated in the heart of Cardiff Bay and is an excellent location. The team were great with good local knowledge to help you make the most of your stay. The room was clean, well decorated with a traditional French feel and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the free car park was a very welcomed bonus. Thanks you Julian and Jonathan for a great stay we would certainly come back
