It was a cosy place.it is far away from the train station and from the city centre. There is limited transportation from the hotel to any place in newport..only one taxi service was available, no uber. The price for sat and Sunday stay was too high. The price for Monday was right for the service provided.

One Night in Newport

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but sadly I found the rooms to be very dark and poorly lit. You had one main light by the door and a smaller one by the window, then the two LED lights over the bed. It provided very poor illumination for the rest of the room. Bed was also very hard and uncomfortable providing a poor night's rest. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee from the machine was cold virtually instantly. Overall, a very mid-experience, not the worst but certainly not the best.

2 night stay

Check in was easy, kind friendly staff. I had to stay with my 13 year old son in a twin room as my Dad was unwell in hospital. I needed to book another night stay but had to pay £70 more than the previous night for the same standard twin room. I just payed it as my Dad is in hospital after having a heart attack. The first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. 2 of the lights didnt work and there was a splash of something white and foamy on the wall next to the bedside table. I hoped it was some kind of cleaning product. The second night we were moved to a new room thankfully. Other wise breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly.
