Great holiday inn, competitive prices. the staff are attentive and helpful as to your needs. Breakfast is always good . Always have a good stay haven't had dinner here yet. Also a great location for the airport as you have a great view of the runway already booked my next visit.
Stayed here for one night solo before a morning flight in December 2016. I was dropped off by a relative on a Thursday night - even though it was peak time, we had no issues finding the hotel and parking. Check-in was really quick and it was an added bonus to find out that breakfast is from 4am. I was given a room on the ground floor, just along the corridor from the bar / breakfast area. The room was a good size and there's be plenty of room for 2 people and their luggage (unless you've brought the kitchen sink). The room had a king sized bed, sofa (which looked like it could become a sofabed), desk and chair, TV and full length mirror, plus some hanging space. The bedding was all clean and had the usual Holiday Inn choice of hard and soft pillows. Even though you're near to the airport, I didn't hear any plane noise, nor anything from the road either. The bathroom was modern - it had that weird Holiday Inn door, where you can close the door on the toilet compartment and still use the shower and sink. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The only negative was the free wifi was a little slow at times but it had good signal strength. I'd asked for a wake up call which happened on time. Breakfast was continental and not a bad selection of pastries, yoghurts, fruit, juices, tea and coffee. I'd asked for the free shuttle to the airport and was a little late, but they waited - it's about a 5 minute drive right to the departure door. Overall I had a good stay here - it was good value for an overnight before a flight.
It's a nice quiet place to stay. A bit away from city Center but with good bus connectivity every 30 min (T9 and X91) one can see some flights take off and land. 10 min away from the Barry beach 🌊 . A short but good food menu. Not to mention parking included for staying guest 👍🏼
We used the 'park and fly' service at this hotel and were very pleased with the price which we thought was good value for money. Our room was functional, clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and pillows. We had a bit of a problem with the shower head which seemed to have a mind of it's own in it's holder but apart from that the room was fine. The night light in the bathroom is certainly a useful addition and all hotels should have one. Despite the close proximity to the airport we didn't experience any noise from aircraft. Transport to the airport via the free shuttle was quick, easy and efficient. We can't comment on the food as we had an early start before the breakfast began. One serious issue at the hotel is the car parking for 'park and fly' guests. It consists of a piece of rough ground covered in stones and small rocks and is definitely not the sort of place you would choose to drive a decent car over. If you park there you would have to carry your suitcases to a tarmac area as there is no way you could pull them over such terrain. It really is about time a massive international company like IHG invested in some tarmac to make this a more enjoyable experience. Would we stay here again ? Yes, we probably would - but would probably put tractor tyres on the car first !
Close to Airport, shuttle bus to airport if required or drive two minutes to Airport parking. Meals and bar in the evening with continental breakfast served from 4pm. Clean and quiet. Easy parking and friendly staff
We had a little difficulty in locating the hotel having arrived at Cardiff Airport at 00:40. However, the reception staff was helpful with an excellent sense of humour at that time in the morning. The room exceed expectations. It was quiet, there were a choice of pillows and the bathroom was well-equipped and had an excellent shower. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and cooked food was hot - which is not always the case at hotels. This hotel would certainly benefit from more car-parking spaces as there were very few available upon our arrival.
If you have a late arrival/early departure into/from Cardiff Airport then it's the obvious place to stay but otherwise not sure why you would want to(?) Basic, functional and very clean rooms with everything you would need for a single overnight stay. Very pleasant, efficient and helpful staff. I cannot comment on the food as I didn't eat there. Car-parking is an issue as they simply don't have enough spaces!
Staff are very helpful and kind. Rooms are very clean and nice. One problem is how little food there is in the Breakfast area in the morning. A good hotel for anyone on a tight budget looking for a good hotel.Location is brilliant.
We last reviewed this hotel eight months ago and gave it a four-star rating. Unfortunately, we have to downgrade it this time. We concluded last time that it might be better to find somewhere else to have dinner and to pay for the car parking separately, and possibly to find somewhere else to stay. We did follow our own advice on the first two, but decided to give the hotel a second chance for the overnight. Bad decision - this time the hotel was very noisy (internal noises) and we did not get a good night's sleep. Next time, we shall certainly find somewhere else to stay (in fact, we've already booked it!).
Booked into the hotel and had a £50 charge put against our debit card for the evening meal. Came down for the evening meal, "you can only have a pizza or side order as we haven't got a chef!!" Queried as to why this was and apparently chef has been off sick for two weeks, didn't phone in today so the hotel didn't get a cover chef! Couldn't give a satisfactory answer as to why they put a charge against my card knowing they could not supply food. Not impressed at all.
