The price was great it was the cheapest in the area which why i am very surprised on the level of quailty in this hotel. The staff are outstanding i meet two staff members both went out of there way checked us early, told us about where to go in the area. Not only that on a very cold day receptionist gone into our room closed curtians, turned tv and heating on which we was very impressed. Quailty of care wasnt missed by the staff. The room was very clean, Overall the genine hospitality was outstanding 10 out of 10,i would stay in more hotels if i experience this service everytime.
Handy hotel for travelers to and from Wales. Basic in finish, worn in places, but it has everything you need, and dogs are accepted without notification, it just costs 10 quid extra. We were pleasantly surprised by a worn but comfortable sofa in the room, a hair dryer and lots of space. Although on the motorway, noise was at an acceptable level. Our only criticism was that the chamber maid had skimped on toilet paper: the bathroom has a double loo roll holder, but both rolls were too far near the end. It's nice to shape a V in the paper, it looks nice, but if that paper is quite near the end of the roll, it should really be replaced with a new roll. But this inn provides value for money.
ok lets start its nearly clean, the bathroom was nearly clean, the shower curtain was smelly, the bath around the taps was nearly clean, the flooring was cracked and broken, the tiles behind the door were broken, its nearly quiet, because the window catches didn't work and the noise from outside was louder than it should be, the bed was nearly comfortable, the pillows were like breeze blocks, ok if you like memory foam, the electric socket behind the tv was broken, nearly an electric shock, its just waiting to happen. there are some positives, its cheap well positioned and the staff are nice, i would use again just try a different room to 114
Clean, basic and comfortable. My room was large and had everything I need. A hair dryer is always appreciated so I'm glad these are included as standard. The staff were very lovely and efficient. The location is excellent for a flying visit and the device station amenities are very helpful.
Ancient bathrooms, mouldy grout, tarnished chrome taps, rusty shower rails, sagging roll to the middle mattresses, filthy urine stained duvets hidden under spotless duvet covers, mega worn smelly carpets, BEWARE
Would like to thank days inn magor staff, never meet such freindly and helpful team. it was very busy evening, unfortanlly due to weather made it worse. But can not fault the hotel booking wasnt corrected. but they made everything they could to improve our stay. Rooms was clean and had everything that was required.
The car park is the same used by visitors to the 24 hr service station. I was a bit wary of this but was told they have never experienced any issues with theft or damage to vehicles. Desk staff were all very friendly, chatty and helpful. There is no lift. Ground floor rooms are accessible by wheelchair. Rooms are spacious, better than those you find in other budget hotels like Ibis, and they have a proper bathroom in which the shower was surprisingly good. The soap foam dispensers are manky so take your own shower gel. The sink and tiles over the bath tub had human hair on them. Cleanliness was an issue. The carpet was unpleasant and had not been properly vacuumed. Various unidentifiable debris and hair were everywhere. On the plus side there was, thankfully, absolutely nothing wrong with the bed linen. Rooms have basic tea making kit, a small TV, and WiFi (which was decent). Breakfast, paid for as an extra, is taken next door in the services building - I did not choose this option. This is a very cheap place to spend the night as an alternative to sleeping in the car so I was not expecting much and can happily tolerate a very tired looking room that has been well used over time. What I cannot accept is a general lack of cleanliness. It costs little to clean up the previous occupant's DNA and properly vacuum the carpets, just care and attention.
Our room had a broken shower rail which was literally hanging off the wall and the shower hose was so badly damaged the waster gushing out of it and none at all coming out of the shower head. We reported this to reception and they said they were fully booked & just looked at us. I explained we had been travelling for over 13 hours and wanted another room. They relocated us with the explanation that the guest whos room we were now getting had not yet booked in ! so they would be given this naff room. Our second room was in need of a good clean. The bathroom was grubby and the carpets needed a hoover, There was no bin in the room and the surface tops were all sticky. We were on the ground floor and given it was now after midnight we had hours of noise and loud foot steps and banging doors as people came and went. Our initial room was fitted out as a disabled room & i dread to think what might have happened if a disabled person tried to get in the bath using the unattached rail. Clearly the cleaning staff and maintenance can see these issues yet they leave them unaddressed. Very poor all round would not use again and would not recommend
Our room was basic, but clean and tidy! We booked this as we were going to an Ocean Colour Scene gig at Caldicot Castle and everywhere else was fully booked. I was expecting a horror but it was fine!!
My party of 5 adults stayed here last night for a Coldplay concert in Cardiff. We chose the Days Inn for the price as everything else was either completely booked or stupidly overpriced. My expectations weren't massively high as these motorway hotels are never the highest standard & that expectation hasn't changed as a result of last night. When we arrived only one of the three rooms was ready which was fine because we were early. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We used the one room to get changed, left our stuff & headed off to Cardiff. On our return, there was a terrible smell of damp in the corridors & bedrooms however the other rooms were ready; I had asked for one the rooms to have two beds as I was sharing with my niece so was more than surprised to find 2 extra beds made up, one on the sofa & the other on the floor. We put the two extra beds back into one & I used it as my neice is pregnant so needed the bed. To say this 'bed' was uncomfortable is a massive understatement. It was lumpy & I could only lay in one position to get any sort of comfort & allow me to get some sleep. There is no air conditioning so the room was very hot & we had to have the window open right over my 'bed' so I was also in a draft. We paid £210 for the 3 rooms so it wasn't expensive but it wasn't dirt cheap either. If I was desperate to find somewhere to stay for a gig in Cardiff again I would consider here but it wouldn't be my first choice!
