Hotel Syrene is in a perfect location right in the heart of the Capri shopping district. Our room was a bit small #74. There was no dresser and we were only there for 3 nights, but with 2 suitcases on the floor (in the corners) there was very little space to get around the bed. Everything was spotlessly clean though. Nice balcony. We were the only ones at the pool most afternoons. I imagine in season the outside bar is really nice, but in May it's not open. There are not individual room controls for HVAC. When sleeping, we did not want the slider wide open. We shut the hurricane shades and opened the slider, but that really didn't offer enough cool air. By the weekend the hotel must have received more than just our request and the AC was on. But again- no in room controls. You get whatever temp they decide to keep it at. Breakfast is pretty good. The scrambled eggs in the steam table were a little gross -watery and tasted weird. They will fry an egg for you - no problem- but they we always cooked through (over hard). I don't think Italians eat fried eggs. The staff was exceptional throughout the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed one night in Capri very expensive worth it as a huge treat Hotel was fab the only downfall was there was two single beds pushed together that as I sat on came apart The blue grotto tour cost for two people €58 (€15 each at port then the hidden charge as u arrive there another €14 each ) It was amazing scary going in such a small entry having to lie in a boat but amazing singing tour guides etc amazing got the boat to positano another €42 Breakfast in hotel was amazing

Three couples, two nights in late April ... great hotel ... large rooms, large bathrooms, big balconies ... breakfast is outstanding ... Vittorio and his staff are very friendly and very helpful ... this is the place in Capri!

We spent 6 nights in Italy: 2 nights at this hotel, 2 nights Positano, 2 nights Firenze. The Syrena was by far the cheaper of the 3 hotels and also the best. If you want cutting edge design, then this is not for you. It is a simple family run hotel with a great pool, very clean rooms, good beds, nice breakfast and lovely service. The location is central near all the shops yet fairly quiet in the evening. The view from front rooms is stunning.m I really advice a stay here and would stay again.

Stayed 3 nights and liked every minute, very clean , beautiful tiles, very nice property, right on the main pedestrian shopping street, short walk to the main square. It is Best Western but only by name, you won't be disappointed.

This hotel is in a great location, a short stroll from the main square. Its also a good base to take on some of the great walks on the island. Upon arrival they gave a free upgrade to a suite, the rooms are spotlessly clean with fantastic facilities. Two highlights are the breakfast balcony over looking the bay and the pool area is very relaxing whilst getting sun all day.

The location, anyone will notice after a day in Capri, could not be better. Via Camerelle is nicer, wider and less crowded than the other main streets of the place. Two short blocks from the Piazzetta and on the way to the Faraglioni. It is also where the best restaurants, if expensive in this case, are located. On our search for a hotel of moderate - really - price we did not expect one so comfortable in this expensive island. The spacious, clear room we got overlooked the hotel´s peaceful lemon grove, where the restaurant Limonaia, of the hotel, serves nice-good priced Italian fare. Beyond the grove is the smimming pool and on a higher ground a separated large terrace/sun deck. In the very center of Capri, the Syrene owns a surprising large area. The view towards the sea, on the front rooms, which we saw from the front terrace where breakfast is served, looked to us less appealing than the garden one, that shows the grove and the city of Capri behind climbing the hills. Staff very corteous, efficient and helpful even in matters like confirmations in Sorrento for a rental car and also for hiring the round the island boat tour. For the same price that all tours are offered in the net, we got an agile speeboat, with a nice sun deck. Breakfast was just OK, of all things, the one I would rate less remarkable. Having two large pieces of luggage, we used the service available in Capri, for a cost, to carry the items from the Marina Grande and deliver them to the hotel. This service is independent of the hotel and works both ways, to and fro. Recommend in this situation, it is a tremendous hassle to carry large items in the "funiculare" that links the port to the town.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel for one night out of a four night stay in Capri. The hotel and grounds are very beautiful and right in the heart of town of Capri yet tucked away in a quiet location. There is a lovely pool with lovely landscaping including a nice grove of lemon trees. We enjoyed the meals we had there including the delicious lemon pasta on the terrace by the pool. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I forgot a personal item in my room upon check out. Upon my return to Canada it was a significant effort to coordinate a courier to pick up the package and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful if facilitating the pick up on their end. Thank you very much!

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Europe under the Best Western label none have the distinct mid range profile of a North American Best Western. We hesitated before booking the Syrene. Not because of the brand but because of the pictures. It just did not look appealing for an anniverary stay in Capri. However after reading the reviews we decided to book with the intention of relocating after our arrival if need be. Well we stayed four nights! We were assigned a very large and confortable room overlooking the sea. The adjacent garden filled with lemon trees is just an oasis of tranquility. Our concern about being located on via Carmelere, the main shopping street, disappeared quickly as the action tones down as soon as the tours leave the island in the afternoon. In fact Carmelere is most enjoyable in early morning when all the shopkeepers are cleaning up windows and displays prior to opening. All staff very helpful and attentive to your needs. Breakfast waiters are just a wonderful, smiling and well trained team. Make sure you have breakfast on the terrace and don't miss their exquisite torte caprese. The only small drawback preventing a five star score for the Syrene is the noise from nearby guests slamming their doors upon departure in the early morning.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Was worth every penny. Staff are amazing. Service was perfect. The island of Capri is stunning. Restaurants shopping everything was perfect. If your in Italy you must go to Capri and stay at the best western
