We only stayed one night, I wish we had stayed more. It has always been on my "bucket list" to stay overnight on Capri. We had a hotel on the mainland on Sorrento booked, so we jumped over to Capri to stay one night in Capri, wile maintaining our booking in the Sorrento hotel. After seeing the Best Western Syrene, I wished I had booked more nights. The view from the room was a panoramic view of the woods and the Bay of Naples. The pool had the view of the cliffs and the water temperature was just right. The breakfast was wonderful. I love the local red orange juice. The Aperol l Spritz at the pool with the crackers and olives was tasty. We had a slight problem with the room safe when we first checked in. The Manager sent someone to our room immediately fixed it. At night, we took the bus to AnnaCapri and realised we could have spend more time on the island. We will defintiely saty here if we ever got back to Capri! It was Bellisima! Going to visit on a one-day afternoon without staying overnight, you do not expereinece the real "Capri" experience. We highly reccomend the Best Western.
From the minute you walk into the lobby of Hotel Syrene you feel relaxed. It's a beautiful hotel tucked into the hill on Capri. The patio is an enchanting lemon tree "grove" that is lovely to just sit and relax, have a drink. Perfection. The pool was perfect after a day of touring. Our room was spacious and we just loved the tile floors! We did not have a view, but it didn't matter, we loved it anyhow. The staff, both at the front desk and the pool area, were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back! My favorite stop on our 10 day tour of Italy.
We stayed for three nights at this hotel located on Via Camarelle, a stone's throw from the Quisisana. The lobby is beautiful and our room which had a garden view was very quiet (even though we were right beside the elevator), well furnished and well appointed in all respects. The ceilings are high; the bathroom large, with good eco-friendly bath amenities (there is an effort to recycle at this hotel, also in the breakfast room); lots of closet space and shelves, a balcony and bathrobes. The mattresses were very comfortable and the pillows were satisfactory (feather ones were made available on request). The housekeeping staff were extremely warm and friendly and eager to please as were the wait staff in the breakfast room in which a full buffet was served indoors and on a beautiful terrace. The menu options were complete and basic eggs were made to order at no extra charge. There was no fresh juice however but this was of no great significance. Thanks to Giovanni and Guiseppe in the breakfast room. The reception staff and concierge, in particular Gianpiero, gave good information, and their responses to requests or to any problems were swift. Unfortunately, the television was not working properly during our stay because the system was overly complicated for us and there were some issues with the safe but the latter problem was satisfactorily resolved and we were so busy that the lack of media service was not a problem. Wifi was good throughout our stay. All in all front desk staff were very responsible and professional if not overly warm or enthusiastic. Only real issue with the room was the light that constantly went on every time one enters the bathroom area. If using the facilities at different times of the night, one could easily wake up one's roommate. Still, a good hotel, that I would recommend to anyone travelling to Capri.
My husband and I spent 4 nights here. The location is close to the action, but just past the crowded tourist shopping area. The lobby is spacious and well decorated, and the lemon garden and pool area are superb. It appears that they allow people who aren't guests at the hotel to use the pool which can make it harder to find poolside lounge chairs. Breakfast on the balcony was nice, but don't leave your food unattended for even a minute or the seagulls will take it and be gone before you know it! We had an ocean view room, but it got pretty noisy around 3 am each night. I think there was a garbage collection center across the street. It sounded like they were dumping glass several times which scared me out of my sleep. I would pick a pool/garden view. It would be on the quiet side and looked like they had nice views also. Overall, a great place in perfect location.
Delightful hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will organise transfers to/from Naples airport and Sorrento. We stayed for two nights which we didn't feel was quite enough. For those looking for exercise on your travels, you don't need a gym in Capri!
We loved this hotel and found the service exceptional. The location is perfect right on Via camarelle. We had room 76 with a terrace on the 3rd floor. The view was just fabulous. The surrounds, pool and restaurant are all very beautiful. They have a great breakfast too. All the staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. Thank you especially to Costanzo who looked after us for breakfast each morning and was fabulous!
Hotel Syrene is in a perfect location right in the heart of the Capri shopping district. Our room was a bit small #74. There was no dresser and we were only there for 3 nights, but with 2 suitcases on the floor (in the corners) there was very little space to get around the bed. Everything was spotlessly clean though. Nice balcony. We were the only ones at the pool most afternoons. I imagine in season the outside bar is really nice, but in May it's not open. There are not individual room controls for HVAC. When sleeping, we did not want the slider wide open. We shut the hurricane shades and opened the slider, but that really didn't offer enough cool air. By the weekend the hotel must have received more than just our request and the AC was on. But again- no in room controls. You get whatever temp they decide to keep it at. Breakfast is pretty good. The scrambled eggs in the steam table were a little gross -watery and tasted weird. They will fry an egg for you - no problem- but they we always cooked through (over hard). I don't think Italians eat fried eggs. The staff was exceptional throughout the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
Stayed one night in Capri very expensive worth it as a huge treat Hotel was fab the only downfall was there was two single beds pushed together that as I sat on came apart The blue grotto tour cost for two people €58 (€15 each at port then the hidden charge as u arrive there another €14 each ) It was amazing scary going in such a small entry having to lie in a boat but amazing singing tour guides etc amazing got the boat to positano another €42 Breakfast in hotel was amazing
Three couples, two nights in late April ... great hotel ... large rooms, large bathrooms, big balconies ... breakfast is outstanding ... Vittorio and his staff are very friendly and very helpful ... this is the place in Capri!
We spent 6 nights in Italy: 2 nights at this hotel, 2 nights Positano, 2 nights Firenze. The Syrena was by far the cheaper of the 3 hotels and also the best. If you want cutting edge design, then this is not for you. It is a simple family run hotel with a great pool, very clean rooms, good beds, nice breakfast and lovely service. The location is central near all the shops yet fairly quiet in the evening. The view from front rooms is stunning.m I really advice a stay here and would stay again.
