Hidden fees, and misleading information on website

We reserved a room for the weekend for a family event nearby. Previously staying at Cabana was an amazing experience so we were hopeful that the familiarity and knowledge of the property would give us another top notch weekend away. Since our last visit, I can only assume that management or ownership has changed because everything was completely different. Not only we charged. A daily rate for parking at the hotel, but breakfast is no longer included in the stay, although it is advertised on the website. The room we booked online was not the room that we received upon our arrival, despite the nearly empty property, and a higher security deposit is now due at the time of reservation, even if you have already paid in full. Lastly we had a ridiculous fruit fly problem in our room that seemed to linger the entire weekend, despite Not having one piece of fruit in our room. While the cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating, the condition of the room upon our arrival was subpar with sand on the floor, and hair on the walls in the bathroom. It’s almost like they cleaned all of the surfaces, but not necessarily the walls, handles, or floors very well. I have always loved this hotel due to its location, and reasonable pricing, however, the hidden fees, and exclusions have really made me consider looking at a new place for our next visit in town.

Be Aware there is a $20.00 per night parking fee. I can see maybe being justified in the summer BUT no way should you pay $20.00 per night in the OFF season. Was not aware of the fee and will not stay here again. In addition our room key wouldn't work as soon as we checked in had to get maintenance use a saw to open, needless to say we switched rooms.

Easy parking. However 20$$ a night for parking. First come first serve. Need heat in pool as it doesn't get very much sun. Very clean rooms. Staff is very friendly.

Went to check-in. Told had to wait 45 min. Had to use ladies room. Couldn’t because you need a room key to open bathroom. Had to go on boardwalk. Came back and checked-in. No where to store clothing/belongings. Only 1 drawer for storage. Pool was cold. No cable. Can only cast from your device to tv. Didn’t have wi-fi password to even do that. Tried to call front desk. Button to call them just rang busy. USB ports to charge phones were all broken. AC was super loud all night. People fighting outside room at 2am. No blankets in the room. Only had sheets that were on the bed. This place is just a motel. Nothing special about it. Had to pay to park at the “hotel”. Parking should have been included. Curtains still allowed light through on the sides. Made it difficult to sleep.
