The pictures and the reviews whetted our appetite, so I made a reservation. Unfortunately our room was disappointing. It had a musty smell, the room was smaller than expected and the "roll out couch" did not, it was more like a futon. The grounds we nice, the pool looked inviting and the location was great, just the room was not worth the money we paid.
They abused my signature and my credit card info to charge me extra fee of $75 after check out claiming that I strained 7 towels with fecies or blood which is lie. Where can I get enough blood to stained 7 towels? Or get fecies if I have grown up kids 12y old? Tbh most of their towles were either ripped or stained first place. I called to explain that it didn't happened and Katy front desk were very rude talking to me and wanted to hang up on me. Motel is very old and overpriced. Everytime we go to the pool there's no towels, no umbrellas, jacuzzi had sign out of order most of the time, grill is broken, parking spots are v limited and not enough for guests. Front desk are not friendly or welcoming. I have itchiness and pimples on my hands and legs started after my first night there not sure if it's from the pool or the bed sheets. The worst motel we've ever been. V poor experience.
We rented two rooms for our large family. The largest two bedroom two bath condo and a single. We had 7 on our trip. We wanted the largest condo so our older kids had a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Turned out when we arrived no one told us the dryer in our larger condo was NOT working. We found out after doing a load of laundry! We said something to the staff and they said “yeah it’s broke and being replaced next week”! Wow couldn’t inform us at check in? They did however allow us to use their dryer in their staff laundry room. Sadly big inconvenience though. It’s a locked room and we had to constantly go down stairs and always ask for it to be opened to allow usage. We talked to the manager about a partial refund and they offered but only on site credit. We wanted a refund on our credit card, they refused. Sadly we won’t be returning to use the credit. We spent over $1,500 for 4 days with the two rooms and I have to say the site is very out dated. We stayed here nearly 10 years ago and was shocked upon return the TV’s are still the same ones! No HD tv either just your basic antenna cable service! Not trying to sound spoiled but if I’m spending this kind of money at least update your tv’s to something with a better picture! Pool is heated and on one day I swear it was nearly 90 degrees in the water! Fine for cold days but this was a hot day! Not very refreshing at all. People staying they’re were shocked the heater was running on a day that was 80 degrees! Staff seemed friendly but wow do the cleaning crew clean the places fast! They would arrive on site around 9 am and nearly every day were gone by noon! Leaves me to wonder how clean are they getting the rooms here? All and all minus the dryer situation it was a nice place to stay but as stated we won’t be returning.
Husband and I stayed 2 nights on the advice of our friends, who live in Cape May. We have stayed at BnBs, and larger hotels in the past here for a lot more money, and I was a little worried about the low price (relatively) here. Do not think twice, Madison Ave. Beach Club is a great value, a pleasant place to stay. We stayed in early June, before the larger summer crowds. We were checked in by Micayla, friendly and helpful. We stayed on the first floor, in room 2. A queen bed, kitchenette area (fully stocked), a nice sized bathroom with a shower. Wicker chairs and small table outside to sit. The pool was open, although we did not use. The best part, and extremely important, is it is SO CLEAN. Housekeeping is a priority, and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it is. It is pet friendly (not all rooms). There are options with full kitchens and an added sofa bed. Very nice stay in Cape May. We will return!
I was pleasantly surprised since the Saturday night rate was only $100. The room was very clean and had no smell (which was great!). Nice bathroom, small kitchenette, a cold fridge and plenty of hot water. Several items of interest, the mattress was "way to soft" and I woke up with a sore back; the room was very warm and I could not get the AC unit to operate (an open window solved that problem). I have stayed in much less nice motels and paid more money for it, I would definitely come here again.
We went in the winter time for a getaway. It was good. Clean and comfortable. I would like to see how it is in the summer. I love cape May and there are better places to stay there but it’s good for a quick night sleep. It’s just your average place to stay.
My partner and I stayed here for a few days before the holiday and it was a relaxing place with a great atmosphere. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. Will definitely stay here again.
Rooms are small, smaller than other motels I've stayed in Cape May. Semi-clean, super outdated, pullout couch bed mattress had zero support. I was basically sleeping on the coils. Hot water ran out quickly. I'm not a dog person so probably shouldn't have stayed in a pet friendly motel but I stepped in dog poop twice and my father did as well.
1st time (overnight) visit to cape may, nj. selected madison ave beach club online by amenities, location, and pricing. turned out to be much nicer than I expected, very well kept and very reasonable pricing. nice room with kitchenette type setup. would be fantastic for a whole weeks stay if vacationing. would definitely stay here again.
Our first impressions of our room were the carpets and walls stained and riddled with mold. On the first night of our 4 night stay, we were greeted with mass amounts of ants on the nightstand next to the bed. I had ate an apple previously. I later regretted that decision. There were so many ants my laptop became infested. Someone came out to spray and kill the ants. However they wanted us to stay in the pesticide filled room. I convinced them to let us switch rooms. The girl that helped kill the ants said we could only have the room for the night. When I went into the service office the next morning they wanted to move me back into the infested room,( refused) and were not apologetic about the experience. We ended up staying in the second room for the remainder of our stay. We did go towel less a day as they didn't come around on one of the days we were there. The pool and hot tub still being open and fully functional was delightful. If you plan on booking a suite, bring your own paper products such as paper towels, and even a sponge. These will not be provided for you. If this motel was anywhere else on the jersey shore, it would be unbearable. Cape may is truly a beautiful place.
