Make “Seashell Cottage” your own beach retreat getaway! “Seashell Cottage” is a spacious relaxing three-story home with an expansive wrap around porch that faces our historic little, but lively town of Cape Charles & is steps from the soft-sand beach.

With 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths, there’s space to comfortably accommodate 11 people. “Seashell Cottages’” first floor offers two family rooms where you can unwind while reading a good book, playing board games with your loved ones or watching a movie! The well-equipped kitchen and dining area have an open layout to accommodate everyone's needs, with laundry and half bath. You also have porch access from the kitchen & dining room.

The second story has the master bedroom, which offers a queen-sized bed with a personal den. The master bath has two vanity sinks, an oversized bathtub and separate shower. The two other 2nd story bedrooms have queen size beds with sliding glass doors that take you out to the balcony to enjoy the views & the glorious sunsets overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. There is also a full bathroom for convenience.
The third-floor loft offers a relaxing sitting area, two twin beds that overlook the Chesapeake Bay, and an air hockey table, perfect for the kids or even adults in your group! Walking outside, the wrap around porch leads you to a patio area with a picnic table, additional seating & a grill for those nights when grilling out is a must!

Annual Family Vacation

Nice house with a great location from the beach. Easy to get small children to and from the beach yet still a short walk to town. We had trouble when an air conditioning unit went down but the agents had it fixed the next day.

Great Property

This is a great location with wonderful views of the water from the kitchen window and two of the upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and they have beach chairs, boards and floaties to use at the beach. The beds are very comfortable. Have stayed here 3 or 4 times.

We.have rented properties for 40 years. We chose this property because the bedroom configuration and location were great. I gave this property a 3 star because of the lack of cleanliness. The property needs to be deep cleaned and decluttered. There was also a strong musty smell in the kitchen especially inside cabinets. This could easily be a 5 star rating if the property had some TLC.

Fun week at the beach

One block from the beach was wonderful for the grandchildren and adults. We could go and set up tents and the kids stayed at the beach the entire day and would go back after dinner. Great location and really nice house.

Wonderful week and Fabulous Location

We enjoyed our stay and found Seashell Cottage to be a great fit for our family. It was a short walk to the Beach. There were nice beach chairs and umbrellas and the floats were a big hit. The air hockey table in the loft area also provided lots of fun. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked!!! Thank you!!!

Documentation

Had to read all of the instructions to avoid a $35 fee for not removing my trash to the town dump. (this was not noted in the check out procedure which would have resulted in a hidden fee) I have rented 4 years in Cape Charles however on this property, I did not expect that on closing day I would have to haul trash. My other three rentals just required me to just place in outside trash can and let the garbage service pick up the trash. Also...did not know that you had to haul the trash can to the curb on Tuesday for pickup. That was annoying. Otherwise very nice property, well kept and great proximity.

Great house with one problem

The key to the front door does not fit the door to the second story balcony and opening the door to go out to the balcony does not disable the lock and door locks again when it is shut. Easy to lock yourself out.

Comfortable Space and Amazing Location

The house was clean and spacious with lots of storage available and a very well stocked kitchen when it comes to utensils, pots, plates, etc. We had a pretty full house, but there was plenty of room for everyone to sit and eat together. Unfortunately the weather wasn't in our favor during the trip, but what sunny days we had, we made use of the beautiful wraparound porch and the grill and beach toys that were provided with the rental. The location was fantastic. Shopping and dining was an easy walk from the house and the beach was maybe a block away, if that. Two of the bedrooms had access to a second floor balcony that looked right out at the ocean and was perfect for watching the sunset on the water. We all had a great time, we would definitely recommend a stay here!

Lovely home with great amenities

This property had everything we could have hoped for - views of the Bay from two bedrooms and the 3rd floor., a lovely kitchen with plenty of dining area, several rooms where people could "get away" for quiet time if they wished and a bright and cheerful decor. A relaxing holiday retreat

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in Cape Charles over the Thanksgiving holiday with family. It's right across from the beach and weather was lovely for November - warm and breezy. My son loved seeing the little town from our golfcart and our dogs loved the beach and no traffic environment. Beds were comfy but my favorite part was the well-stocked kitchen which really mattered as I was cooking a Thanksgiving feast. Linenes and towels were included which was so helpful. Doug (the rental agent ) was very responsive to my many questions. Overall - a relaxing getaway with all the homey amenities.

Nice and Quiet

We have been coming to Cape Charles for several years now and while I have truly enjoyed each stay and home for unique reasons, this was definitely a favorite we hope to come back to. We have never stayed so far back in town before and liked the out of the way feel. The house feels very clean and has very comfortable beds and a couple of the guest rooms have nice water views. The upstairs kids room is wonderful for parents with children who like to be close by but still have some privacy. We had a lot of fun with the air hockey table. The kitchen is well stocked, clean and comfortable to be in, while cooking and visiting. One of the best features of this house that I think would appeal to many families and groups is the large wrap around porch. It was just our small family but we ate out there and enjoyed time with the dogs outside just people watching.

Great location, and a clean, comfortable house

I truly appreciate how clean your home was. It helped put our minds at ease while traveling during a pandemic. The house was spacious and well equipped with cooking necessities, games, and beach equipment. The beds were very comfortable. My only suggestion is to leave instructions for the televisions, and possibly to update them. The house is a short block to the beach, and is on a quiet street. Thanks for a lovely stay.

July Visit

This was our second stay at the Sea Shell Cottage. The house was very clean on our move in day. Our Party included 5 adults, 3 children and 3 dogs. We love the location being just a block from the beach and how well stocked the house is for a pleasant beach experience - beach chairs, umbrellas and floats. We did experience problems latching the dishwasher and a handyman was quickly on scene to help. Even after his visit, it often took several tries to get the door to latch properly so the dishwasher would run. A minor problem that did not distract from a wonderful week in Cape Charles. We will definitely book the Sea Shell Cottage again.
