The hotel ( architecturally interesting because the modern part is the reconstructed interior of a building dating from the 15th Century) is well-located --5 mins walk from the train station and five mins in the other direction from Schaffhausen's Tourist Information Center. Our twin room was quite small -- okay for a night or two but we stayed four and it felt a little claustrophibic -- but generally well-appointed. Breakfast was very good, the laundry service prompt and equally good. The best part though was the staff --including the receptionist who walked three blocks to fetch me and our luggage when we got lost on arrival; the breakfast staff, always polite, cheerful, and accomodating, and Daniela on the desk who cheerully came to our rescue a couple of times (an ornery room safe) and offered excellent advice about sightseeing.
Visited this hotel with my girlfriend. Very romantic hotel and the best hotel we visited in Switzerland. Breakfast was very good and enough to choose from. We would certainly recommend this Hotel when visiting this beatifull place.
Recently stayed for three nights. A really good location only 100m from the Bahnhof. Good size room and excellent breakfasts. Perfect place from which to explore the town, the Munot, walk up to the Rhine Falls and take a boat up to Stein am Rhein & Konstanz.
I stayed one night travelling for business. Hotel in the heart of Schaffhausen with all tourist on walk and companies headquarters as well. Nice place to stay alone or with family. Very nice sights from my rooom in the last floor of building.
On one edge of town centre, so in good location for shops/restaurants. However, very close to busy train line so lots of noise from overnight goods trains and early morning commuter trains. Rooms are ok, but were were in 3xx and think these are needing refurb - but still ok, clean and comfy. Staff friendly. Breakfast average but ok. Make sure you dont just use the lift else you will miss the huge sweeping wooden staircase and the 18th(?) century rooms.
I spent two nights at this hotel will visiting Schaffhausen. It is located in the city center, had good parking for bicycles, and was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Being at the edge of the pedestrian center of town, it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
In this hotel, you immediately feel welcome. Service is very friendly and you feel the sincere care for their guests. The hotel manager is incredibly proactive and anticipate your needs. Food quality is also very good. Rooms are good but you will regret there is no air conditioning - ventilators are there to help but still, room temperature in sunny summer days is a challenge. Well located in the center.
This hotel is in all points recommend! As a family we enjoyed the stay a lot. Great staff and the Falls nearby. There are lots of beautiful things to do and explore in the area, whether in the little town or along the river.
This hotel is in a great location just next to the pedestrian section of town. You can pull your car up front and unload luggage before packing up the street. The lobby is beautiful and the building has gorgeous exposed beams everywhere. Our room was very small but very clean and updated and had everything we needed!
We picked that hotel for a couple of days off. -The location is excellent and the atmosphere is great -The room was having a great classy touch and I have to admit that the architecture is adding a lot to the whole experience of staying in this hotel. -The staff was friendly and welcoming. -The service was amazing, given I have requested some very specific flowers for our room, upon arrival and they delivered it in flying colors. -The soundproof is also great - not a single sound during the whole day and through the night. -The breakfast was AMAZING and the quality of the products offered were of the highest. -The only downside was that during the day, the room was pretty cold, even if we have put the heating on full. The staff told us that it usually takes around 30minutes until the room gets warm, but unfortunately we had to wait for over 4 hours to start feeling comfortable of having a shower, without us freezing. Although, without any second thought, next time in Schaffhausen will be another staying in this wonderful hotel. Thank you!
