Stayed here 21st September 4 star building minus 4 star service appalling. Owner rude obnoxious and arrogant with a greed for money. To explain no receptionist when finally find someone to much bother for them . But real issue CREDIT CARD booked two rooms through booking .com .I the morning my friend went to pay his bill the owner looked up and said paid then turned his back on him. Friend then asked me if I paid and I said no. I then went in and said the bill needs paying he said done on my friends credit card. I said I want a receipt he then begrudgingly gave me one for 168 euros when friend gets back to England the man has taken double 336 euros when questioned he said booked four not the case this was a cock up between booking.com and the hotel . The owner new this was the case as he knowingly gave receipt for 168 euros and he refuses to refund the money . Booking.com accept there was an error but also fuse to refund the money because the owner of the hotel refuses disgusting attitude from both parties. I believe the owner of the hotel intentionally defrauded us knowing we would go back to UK and hopefully for get about it .not in this case. The owner of the hotel is a greedy nasty little con man with sole intention of conning foreigners. This on top of the dreadful service in the hotel has me me not to want to return to cangis de onis ever again.
This is a fine hotel where every room has a spectacular view! Free parking is a bonus too. We had a half board deal via Brittany Ferries so dinner was included. There was no choice but I have to say, what we were served was superb so I would definitely like to be let loose on their a la carte menu! All the staff are lovely too and make you feel relaxed. A couple of tips...when walking down the hill to Cangas de Onis, you see a little path leading off to your right... that cuts off a lot. Second, nobody we spoke to was able to find it on their satnav! The hotel is signposted in Cangas though..just keep going up!
The Hotel is set on the hillside just out of town with the most fantastic views out of all the rooms, including the bedrooms. The bedrooms are very large with top quality bathrooms, and of course the amazing views from the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the valley. We did not eat here but the breakfast was very good.
Incredibly beautiful setting and a fabulous hotel with character. Located just outside of the little town, it is on a hill with very nice views. Nearby there are all kinds of adventure companies for canoeing, rafting, hiking, mountain biking, etc. the restaurant offers a good breakfast, and in town you can get local cuisine, as well as pizza and pasta. I can't wait to go again for a longer stay.
Love this place , the rooms are big very spacious are clean excellent view of the town n mountains , staff really friendly . Very close to the town looks a long way from hotel but not just ask them where the footpath is cos if somebody had not told us we wouldn't of gone to the town as walking by rd looks a hell of a walk . Can't tell u anything about evening meal as we heading into the town and there are loads of restaurants to choose from a fabulous town by the way . Breakfast was good plenty to have
Stay here for the views. Service is decent. Rooms are big and comfortable but there is nothing luxurious or unique to them. Note that the basic room has a tiny little window with the most amazing views. But it is so tiny and quite high on the wall, you can only see though it if you stand (one person) right in front of it. Still worth it Breakfast is nice, the outside area is gorgeous. Their pastries are delicious. Do not eat in the restaurant. Very very disappointing and pricey. Perhaps because we stayed here in May and it was not a weekend, but food seemed to be reheated, not freshly cooked. Nothing was good. We had to send back the croquetas because quite honestly they tasted like frozen croquetas they serve in public schools (they didn't charge us). Other dinners were also complaining. I'd definitely stay here again but I would not dine here.
Second stay at this Hotel in a year and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Lovely large, well furnished quiet rooms with huge windows. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. While we walked into to town each evening for Dinner, some of our friends had Dinner at the Hotel and said they had an excellent, albeit pricey, dinner.
Here for 5 nights with my wife and four other couples. Lovely room overlooking the Picos, excellent breakfast and very friendly and welcoming. Easy walk into town where there are plenty of shops and restaurants and not far to the Picos mountain walks and/or the coast. Definitely recommend this hotel as an ideal location for the Picos
Lovely location although a bit of a steep climb if walking back from town. Large and clean and well equipped rooms. The staff could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended. Ideal for touring the Picos
The hotel is elegant, the room is huge with a relative small bed compared to the large room, the view is spectacular, the bathroom is large and the shampoo and lotion provided is of very good quality. Pet friendly which was very important for us. I removed one star for the 18 euros we payed for the dog without giving anything in exchange.
