Positives: 1. The location is amazing. Although its not close to the beach, it is opposite to the railway and bus station making it very very convenient to reach and travel around. A true blessing in Europe. All major attractions in Cannes, the casinos, restaurants, beach etc, everything is 10-15 minutes by walk from this place. A 10/10 for the location. 2. Staff is great - especially one old gentleman names Mr. Herve - witty, respectful, intelligent and helpful. The remaining staff is also good. 3. Breakfast area: The famed breakfast area which is all over the reviews and is a major selling point for the hotel does live up to its hype. The view is very good from the top! Negatives: 1. The room we got was bad. Small, old and smelly. The bathrooms are also not very good. At this cost, I expected nothing great but not as bad either. No tea bags, no coffee mugs, no kettle - disappointing! 2. No room service: Absolutely no room service, not even drinking hot water or kettle. We asked for a kettle but the person at the receptions didnt know where it was. The most wonderful part was that while we were sleeping, a man accidentally opened our room and walked in only to realize that it was the wrong room. I don't know who the man was or how did he get the key to the room. Luckily we were sleeping and doing nothing else! You can get hot water to drink only during the breakfast in the breakfast area. Not very nice! Overall, I am happy because of the location and staff. We did not select the breakfast option, but the spread was so-so. Instead of eating here, save some money and goto a super market nearby (monoprix - which is barely 50m walk) and buy groceries.
We only stayed for two nights. The hotel itself is average, it worths 2 stars. Small room and bathroom not so clean (mold in the shower cabin and ants walking on the floor). Although is not very clean, the location is excellent, next by the train station and close to the old city center and the beach. For economical budget and for going in different locations, it worths because the train station is so close and you can get to Nice in 20 min, Saint Tropez in 2 hours, Monaco in 1 h. You can travel easily from one to another French Riviera locations.
We stayed one night and booked through booking .com. The hotel is a mid budget hotel. It is ideally located directly across from the main bus/train station in cannes so is great to use as a base to explore places such as mougins, nice and Monaco. It has a wonderful roof top breakfast room with a terrace with great views over cannes. There are a good variety of restaurants and bars located near the hotel with prices to suit all. It is only a 5-10 min walk from the hotel to the main beach in cannes. The rooms are basic but have all the necessary accoutrements. There is a supermarket very close to the hotel, 5 mins walk. The staff are friendly and professional. We went on a day trip to Monaco after checking out and they let us leave our bags at the hotel until we returned that evening.
We spent 3 nights at the L'Esteral after booking though lastminute.com. Rooms were small but functional with good air conditioning, fast wifi, great soundproofing and good showers (great water pressure and ubiquitous hot water.) 10 minutes walk to the beach. The station (including a coach stop to/from Nice airport) just over the road. Reception staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely go back.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location, just opposite to the Train Station and not far from the attractive places, restaurants. Its rooftop breakfast hall is also very nice. Breakfast is good but with limited choices. Room and attached bathroom are very average but OK for short stay. AC is not very effective. Services are not bad.
Nice straff, Nice and clean room with Nice view. Nice price, paid 70€for a 3 bed room. Good location! In the middel of the most bissy area:) the breakfast was a bit pricy tho, 8€ for a preatty simple meal. Would rate IT 4,5 of 5 stars :)
I spent just a night in this cozy hotel, the last September. The position is really comfortable, located in front of the railway station and just a few steps from La Croisette. The rooms are quite small, but they don't miss anything. The kingsize bed was amazingly comfortable. The breakfast is a bit poor, the price isn't worth. Generally I would suggest it just for a short stay.
I stayed at this property during the annual TFWA Exhibition. This clean and well maintained hotel is just across Cannes railway station and minutes away from the Palais. Staff at reception were warm and welcoming, breakfast was excellent with views of the city. Rooms are small, but very neat and cozy. Coffee shops and rue antibes was easily accessible. I recommend this property for every business and leisure traveller
First some positives: staff was very friendly and location is great if you want to be in the city center. Being directly opposite the train station meant waking up daily around 6:30 when heavy traffic started, not too great. Though the room itself was clean, the mould in the bathroom between the tiles does not really feel great. Wifi hardly worked at all. Breakfast was fine, nothing too special.
We were interrailing and had just finished a 9 hour travel day so we were very pleased with the location of the hotel as we also had an early start the next day. Receptionist had a bit of trouble locating our booking. Once she did we everything else was ok. The rooms are nice. Ours was over looking the train station. The beach is just a short walk away. There was little to no noise from the street below.
