Hotel is dated and needs to be freshened up and refurbished. One room (very small) was worse than the other of the two we had during our stay. It was not worth the money we paid. It's a 4 star establishment and I expected a lot better. The location in Cannes is good, close to the harbor and beaches.
Your are in the middle of shopping, food excellence and sea at a reasonable price. The room is just a little small, but the little balcony is amazing for breakfast looking at the festival palace. This hotel is the right choice to feel the life of the city and start to explore the french riviera (some problem with air conditioned..too cold)
The Hotel is only a 5min walk from the Railway Station yet over looks the sea front and is easy proximity to restaurants, shops and Cannes promenade. Staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful while remaining professional. Breakfast was very good and served on the balcony with nice views. Room was well furnished and clean the only down size there was no proper shower.
Just loved this hotel. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded into a large room at the front with a great view over the harbour, large comfortable bed and a few chairs. Air conditioning was good, in fact cold at times, and there was no noise from the street below. We even had a small kitchette, (not that I would cook in the same room I was sleeping in), but the option is there. We didn't include breakfast, but this was easily found as there are a number of restaurants around the hotel. The shower was a bit strange, a large bath with a hand held shower, and no where on the wall to hang it. But this was not really a problem. Thanks for our great 3 stay.
What do you get for your money? First, the room we had was really small. My wife claimed it to be less then 10m3, to this you add maybe one or two m3 balcony (extra costs) with a beautiful sea view ( extra too). The bed is fairly small, but ok, i was not in Cannes to stay in the Hotel. Let´s go to the positive points: We added a breakfast, at a very reasonable price, and this was excellent. The staff was nice and attentive. Best of all is the location , in front of the old harbour, in the old town. A lot of great fish restaurants around, a perfect location to stroll around and enjoy Cannes. So in summary we had a very good time and the room size, I was told, is typical for Cannes, unless you are willing to pay a heavy
We had a great stay at Splendid in Cannes. The breakfast was amazing with freshly sqeezed juice and high quality food. The location of the hotel is just outstanding being close to the harbour and other points of interests. Our room was just great with a wonderful view. Special thanks to Gérald Pisano.
We just spent a lovely holiday in Cannes where we stayed at the Hotel Splendid. It is a terrific hotel perfectly situated for sightseeing or just soaking up harbor views. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and professional. The room was pretty, clean and had a terrace overlooking the marina. All in all - it was a wonderful place to celebrate New Year's!
The hotel is located in the perfect position for access to the Palais de Festival, right on the Rue d'Antibes, and about one block from the Croisette. As I booked last minute, the hotel had one room left which was tiny but clean and efficient. I would recommend always booking a room with a view over the port-side and not the city-side though. The staff are fabulously friendly and go above and beyond aiming to please.
This is a fantastic hotel right opposite the pretty port which in itself is adjacent to the international conference centre and casino (if you're that way inclined!). The hotel itself can trace its beginnings back to the 1700's and at various points in the past housed both Napoleonic and German troops. It is a typical French hotel full of charm - all the way from the wide sweeping staircase to the wrought iron radiators in the rooms (don't worry - air conditioning is there too!). I was very lucky to have a room over looking the port with a small balcony on which to have a morning coffee. The restaurant which serves a buffet style breakfast also has a large outside area over looking the port. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and in addition to having excellent English were always willing to give suggestions of places to eat etc. Speaking of which - there are fabulous small, local restaurants all around the hotel. Within 10 minutes walk you will find yourself in small, cobbled streets lined with great places to try the local foods (I had some great pate and wine whilst there).
In 2015 I spent two weeks in the hotel with a girl friend. The room was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful the hotel is in a great situation easy to walk every where. The food was excellent. The pool was on the roof with great views over the city. Car park was also available. This was June 2015
