This is such a wonderful hotel, run by an exceptionally friendly team. The breakfast experience in the garden every morning was delightful. We spent our afternoons lazing by the beautiful pool. It was a truly charming experience
Lovely little hotel with superb hospitality from start to finish, clean, excellent breakfast service exceptional from all staff, can't wait to visit again. Perfect quiet position only a 5 minute walk to beach & a great selection of bars & restaurants. Only one slight negative is no lunch service so if you fancy a quiet day at the pool you will have to venture out if you wish to eat.
In the words of the late Peter Sarstedt, from his song 'Where do you go to my lovely', you go to Juan les Pins. Not only should you go to Juan les Pins, but you must stay at the wonderful Hotel Valerie. Why? Previous reviews tell it all, but all the positive reviews are quite right. We have just returned from an 8 night trip to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It was our first time in this area of France, and we were so pleased to have chosen this outstanding hotel which delivers excellent service and accommodation in a quiet location within a short stroll of the town and beaches of Juan les Pins. The staff at the hotel are brilliant- professional, and so friendly and helpful. Special mention must be made of Jennifer and Michelle with whom we had most contact throughout our stay. These two girls worked tirelessly to ensure everything was just as it should be and are a credit to the hotel. The owner should be very proud to have them working there. Thank you for making our stay special, and for the lovely champagne which you kindly gave us upon arrival to make the occasion even more special! We will return with friends!
You never know what you're going to get in French hotels, based on reviews. Sometimes a good review is misleading, boosting the ranking of average hotels. And occasionally, those really bad reviews can be overwrought. So we were very skeptical about the lofty reviews for this hotel. Please be assured that the reviews are accurate - this is a truly extraordinary experience. Valerie is in its fourth-generation of family ownership and it shows - the people who work there truly do care about guests. They greet you enthusiastically when you arrive, look you in the eye and anticipate everything that you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious, squeaky clean, elegantly (but simply) appointed and very much to our liking. Little details like the authentic marigold glaze on the beautiful oak doors and woodwork, the tile work, art glass light fixtures the hip/chic furnishings made you really feel as though you were deeply immersed in modern France. It's the antidote for the sterile, monotonous hotel rooms that are so common today, and are overseen by corporate automatons. Do you need another reason to visit? Consider the extraordinary breakfast buffet under the yawning canopy of low-slung trees echoing a calming pitter-patter of water from their ancient stone fountain. We liked, too, that on weekday mornings children were dropped at the school across the street - and we could hear their delighted, happy laughter as they played at recess. What a wondrous place.
We have just returned from a stay at this hotel. We were invited to a wedding elsewhere in the town. We booked direct with the hotel. Smooth and very efficient When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and told that we had been upgraded to a suite overlooking the garden. We were offered a complimentary cool drink which we thoroughly appreciated after a hot journey. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with air conditioning that was silent and worked very efficiently. We had a wonderful breakfast in the shaded garden. Above all the staff were first class. Very attentive and obliging - always smiling and happy to help. Especial thanks to Jennifer and her sister Clarrise. We would definitely recommend this hotel and cannot imagine anything better in Juan Les Pins.
We arrived at the hotel a week ago today. we had such a friendly team. a lovely girl called Jennifer and a young man from Switzerland, we didn't get his name but I'm sure he has a great future as a Hotel manager when he goes back to hotel management school. we were upgraded to a great room on the first floor overlooking the garden and pool. after a very good comfortable nights sleep we had breakfast in the garden, amazing selection of breakfast items, fruit from a market stall, lots of local bread and jams, yogurts and cheese n Hams, fresh orange juice and great hot coffee. we were introduced to the very charming hotel owner over breakfast who took time out of her very busy day to speak to every guest to make sure there were no problems and everyone was happy....I am a fussy so and so and loved this place, staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble we will definitely be back, we stayed a full week the only issue it wasn't long enough...
This is probably my favourite hotel ever! The experience from start to finish has been outstanding. We parked in a little private car park and were greeted by charming staff who throughout our stay have been a credit to the hotel. Ste.Valerie is a blissful oasis of shade with a small but lovely pool which is situated about 300m from the centre of town and only about 200m from the Jazz Festival. Our room is beautifully furnished and comfortable with a shaded balcony. Everything is spotlessly clean and linen is changed every day. The air conditioning works as it should. A continental breakfast of the highest quality is served on the shady terrace and eggs are available to order. Plenty of staff are always on hand and are both engaging and helpful. Jennifer, the front of house manager, couldn't have been more helpful, with advice on excursions and she booked dinner for us every night at a fine choice of restaurants. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there is a bar, and a club sandwich or croque monsieur is available during the day. The owner had a chat with every guest at breakfast and is always looking for ways to improve. I do not think I have enjoyed a 6 day stay at a hotel more and we would definitely want to come here again. Thanks to all the lovely staff for making our stay so special.
This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful garden and pool. The staff couldn't be more smilingly helpful. Nothing is any trouble. For example: we arrived on the night of the 2017 UK General Election and wanted to keep up with the latest news. The TV in our room wouldn't pick up BBC World and couldn't be fixed so the management promptly offered an alternative room with a fully functioning TV and then upgraded us to a splendid room (also with a tv that could get BBC) for the remaining three nights of our stay. Do have at least one garden breakfast under the trees - with fresh omelettes prepared by straw-hatted staff.
This is without doubt one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Not only is the walled garden and well kept garden surrounding the pool an oasis of calm but the rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated, well appointed and spotless. However what was most impressive was the genuinely friendly and kind approach of the staff - nothing was too much trouble, indeed when my wife took a shine to a small decorative statue the owner actually went to the shop where she had bought it in Cannes to see if there was another on sale. Location is excellent just a short walk from the beach but on a quite residential side-street. I cannot recommend enough.
On our arrival in JlP, my wife & I got lost walking to the hotel from the train station. We called for directions, and Jennifer immediately rushed out to rescue us. Then we landed in one of the most delightful hotel experiences I've ever had. The owner and staff were very friendly & welcoming, so we felt at home from the start. The room was lovely & spacious. The garden is like something from a movie: lush greens, purple bougainvilleas, beautiful, relaxing. Breakfasts are first rate, with fresh fruits, specialty jams & yogurts, and omelets cooked to order. At the end of our stay, my wife left her swimsuit in the room. Who should call but Jennifer, who then made a special trip to bring it to where we were visiting friends in Cap d'Antibes. Overall an absolutely lovely stay with great facilities and extremely warm hospitality & service. Worth a trip to JlP just for this experience.
