We stayed at Hotel Renoir only one night. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was bigger and clean but not so modern in my opinion, but I guess this is the style of the hotel. Free wifi and 5 min walking to the city center. Overall a good choice.
Hotel tries to come across as boutique, but would have to say its more budget boutique than chic luxury. Fair play to the photographer - he has done his job as pictures are deceiving as the hotel is very small, the bar area seats about 10 people and that is also where they serve up breakfast. Is very sad. Elevator fits 2 at a push and no more. Room was ok if a little small, but overlooked a bunch of garages below. Bathroom was nice. Bed was huge and comfy and the location is good, albeit next to the police station. Beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away. Hotel does have a sister hotel which has a beach area/restaurant, but you still have to pay €25 for a sunbed which I found a bit of a joke that you have to pay to go. All in all our opinion of Cannes was negative, its not pretty & everything is highly overpriced and we just couldn't see what the fuss was all about.
A small hotel close to the station and near to the nightlife and beaches of Cannes. We had a small mix up at check-in but all was sorted quickly and we were even given a free glass of wine. Rooms are clean with all mod cons. Breakfast is buffet style and good choice. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel has a beach which is 10 minutes walk away and has a reduced rate of 15 Euro each per day.
We stayed here for four nights in June. The place is clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's not in the middle of everything, which I personally like, but about a 10 minute walk from the palais and the shopping and restaurants. Our room was on a high floor facing away from the beach, and also the traffic, which meant it was quiet. Great breakfast buffet. The wi-if was irregular, at best, as was the air conditioning--a must in the heat and humidity of Cannes. For these reasons, and for the past-it's-prime shag carpet in the room, I'm giving it only 4 stars.
It was a pleasant surprise to have gotten a call on the day of to confirm our arrival time at the hotel. It was nice to know that we were thought of and that a room will be ready for us when we get there. The hotel staff was so very friendly and helpful. We were taken to our room, and it was a very pretty and we really appreciated the bathroom set up where the toilet and the shower and sink were separated and both closed off from the bed/living area. I liked that we were not situated right in the middle of everything where it might be a little louder or busy, yet it was very walkable. Good shower pressure, comfy bed, and the price was very reasonable. t was
We booked for one night as we were travelling by train from London and it is a 5/10 minute walk. The next day we were boarding a ship which was only a 10/15 minute walk so altogether very convenient. Also near La Croisette which was a short walk away. Absolutely charming staff and a lovely welcoming lobby. Immaculate room and very comfortable. We had a Juliet balcony and all facilities were beautiful and impeccably clean. We would definitely stay again.
Rooms are modern, clean. Location is very convenient, walking distance to downtown. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great experience No luxury excessive luxury (ie soap from L'occitane), but everything on point. Parking? 100mts there is a public parking for EUR 16.20 per day. On the street is almost impossible
I had a 1 night stay at the Renoir. It is a boutique style hotel with a lovely calm atmosphere, located in a quiet side street not far from the rail station. The decoration is inspired by the world of Hollywood stars of the 1950s. My room was lovely and very spacious, and the staff were very friendly. Despite all this I had a couple of little niggles. I specifically asked if I could have a room facing the quiet road (Edith Cavell) at the front of the hotel, however I got a room at the back of the hotel which is on a noisy highway with constant traffic. However to be fair it did offer a view of the water and old town, and I slept well. I was surprised that the Wi-Fi did not work very well at all, it lasted about 30 seconds at a time before dropping out again. Also the TV had channels only in French which was very boring for a single woman travelling on her own, spending the evening in her room. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Despite the niggles, I've no hesitation in recommending this hotel as overall it was a good choice -very clean and the staff were so lovely. Top tip - If you arrive by train it is very easy and around a 4min walk to get to the hotel from the station. When you get out of the train station, you turn right on Place de la Gare and go up the street toward Place du 18 Juin. When you get onto the Place, cross the big highway and cross to the left onto Avenue de Grasse. Behind the police station, turn left & take the little street going up (Edith Cavell) and the hotel is about 20m on the left.
I have been meaning to write a review for a long time. We stayed here last July after arriving from Nice for a few days and we loved our stay in Cannes so much more. This hotel was super charming and the rooms were so big! We had only booked 2 nights but after we arrived we wished to extend our stay and trip in Cannes another 2 nights and the hotel was extremely accomodating, we didn't even have to change rooms and it was a busy week! We definitely plan on going back to Cannes and staying here again. Everyone was also super helpful at the hotel and even recommended a great restaurant (blanking on the name) and it was our favorite restaurant our entire trip in France. highly highly recommend!!!
Reviews were totally misleading, the place sucks, first parking is not at location, you have to drive around and maneuver to a parking lot a few blocks away $17 per day, one door to walk out around the block and this morning I couldn't find the way in because it was on the opposite side, too complicated, a heads up on how to get in and out would have been nice, oh sorry I forgot, we're in France. Second, NO WiFi, zero, nada, and the helpless desk is useless, and they hardly speak any English. The rooms are tiny and the pictures are not accurate, our room has a tiny balcony to nowhere in a city where is difficult to have a great view, they manage to ruin it. The area also suck, police station is practically next door with noise all night long. (Photo of tiny balcony that has no room for even a chair, showing the lack of care and the police station in the corner). Tv has only a few channels and all in French, no movies, no option for english nor subtitles as in several other hotels we stayed at. Aftet a full day, I wanted to sit down have a drink, enjoy a cigar, sorry nowhere to sit or have anything to drink. Breakfast is not buffet, nothing at sight, no menus, so you have to guess what you can have or ask to have, hated it. They manage to have great ratings but we are honestly disappointed to say the least.
