The hotel is in a great location, close to some stores and eateries, and Canmore town center is under 10 min drive, where you will find a charming downtown area with much less tourists, and lots of shopping and dining options. Canmore, and specifically, Basecamp Lodge is very close to Banff, within 20+ mins drive, so it was very convenient. The hotel has a contemporary and hip vibe. Our room, with a king bed, and near the sauna room and breakfast area, both on the 2nd floor, was perfect. The bed was extremely comfy, and the linens were clean. The temp. auto adjusts, so we were never cold in the room. The room and bathroom were spotless. I loved the body wash, shampoo and conditioner they provided from Rocky Mtn. Soap co. It's a sustainable way to provide toiletries by having them permanently installed on the bathtub wall and refilled, causing less waste. A few cons would have to be the lack of elevators at this property. Thankfully, we only had carry-on luggage, but others traveling with heavier items would be inconvenienced. Their free breakfast is pretty bare bones with no hot foods, just breads, muffin and cereal, and coffee, tea and juice. I imagine folks being unsatisfied, so they should just eliminate it, else they will only get complaints. The parking area is a little tight, but the fact that each guest has a parking space is great. We would definitely stay here again for its value, cleanliness and comfort.

The room was comfortable and clean. The location was excellent! The breakfast consisted of bagels, bread, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal. There were no eggs or breakfast meats.

The lodge was very cozy and we had no problems with our stay. We ran out of coffee and toilet paper, but were able to get more from the front desk. The breakfast was very sparse but having the fridge in the room meant getting our own food. I only wish there had been a microwave. Also, the bedside lamps without shades were somewhat annoying.

Nice hotel, clean, and nice that they included breakfadt. Spacious, comfortable room to eat breakfadt. Gorgeous views of the mountains.

As a new hotel, it is clean. But, its parking lot has limited capacity.

Under construction when we went. The locationbor view is not very scenic and parking is very tight. In room facilities are very limited for the price per night (no ironing, etc)

I loved the hassle free style of the hotel with the self check in and keyless entry. Very quiet room, and a very enjoyable stay. The in room fruit basket is a great touch!

What a wonderful review, thank you. We are thrilled that you had such an enjoyable stay. Our breakfast is coming to an end on Oct. 21 as we also felt that we could not provide anything that would compare to the many great options available in Canmore. We will continue to offer tea/coffee and muffins in the morning to give everyone a little kick start to their adventures. We look forward to hosting you again the next time you are through this way.

Thank you for your review. The sauna is under construction however will be open in a matter of days. Room renovations were completed by mid-May. We apologize that you found the parking to be a little tight, however our lot does adhere to local by-law requirements and there is free parking close by should you prefer a larger space. We do find mountains can be seen from nearly all windows however if you would like to give us another try in future we would be able to provide you with a room with one of our best views. Safe travels!
