Le Fleuray Hotel & Restaurant

Le Fleuray has been on my places to visit for some time and it didn't disappoint. Situated in rural countryside the hotel sits very much in isolation. The hotel is in two parts - the main building and a conversion of a barn (in which we stayed). On being shown our rooms there was a small twinge of disappointment that everything looks so new - but that's because it is (relatively), the owners having conducted an heroic restoration of the place a few decades back. Our rooms were comfortable, very clean, and well equipped and the hotel itself it well resourced with a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, two lounges, a games area for kids and a good restaurant (reviewed separately). Previous reviewers have mentioned the lack of tea trays - they are still available on request. Wifi was also raised as a concern however clearly this has been addressed as the wifi is extremely plentiful and with and excellent signal throughout the hotel - there is even a PC for internet access if required. In keeping with hotels of this type there is no air con but even in the 34C heat the rooms were OK and there are shutters on the windows and portable fans in each room. Overall this is an excellent hotel of its type with friendly help full staff and with just about everything you would wish for. Definitely on my return to list and recommended!

We stayed 3 nights, best ever breakfast, homemade jams, lots of fresh eggs, meats and cheeses. Pool, farm kitties, views of the balloons while dining. Highly recommend. We stayed out in the barn where doors open to a patio. Really a great place in the Loire Valley.

We have stayed here several times and had an excellent stop-off en route to the Dordogne, with our dog. The garden rooms are ideal, but are now looking a little in need of TLC. The bathroom is clean and spacious but sadly lacking tissues! It is very peaceful and an ideal place to re-charge the batteries after a long drive from Calais. Our evening meal was fantastic, served out on the terrace. Brilliant service and delicious food. Breakfast has a self service orange press, which is great, BUT, for those of us who like cheese, there were just a few slices of very thin Gouda type cheese - most disappointing! For those who travel with a dog, it is ideal. Places to walk them off the lead, if well-behaved, within the grounds and beyond. The staff are lovely! We are staying again on our return, so hopefully, there will be more of a cheese selection at breakfast!

We stayed here for 4 nights as a base for visiting Le Mans. The hotel is in the middle of picturesque countryside and comprises a lovely large house with a newer annex. We stayed in one of the garden rooms in the annex, a stones throw from the pool. The room was very good size, with a large double bed, and ensuite. There were no tea/coffee making facilities but the staff were happy to bring drinks to your room. The pool was a lovely temperature and I believe it was heated. The food at the hotel was very good and certainly above average. The waiters were always friendly and managed well with my less than great French. A great little hotel, tucked away and quiet.

We stayed here for 5 days with a group of 25 couples for a Le Mans trip. Beautiful hotel in the heart of the French countryside. The food was stunning everyday with 3 courses and coffee. The breakfast full and plentiful. Fabulous rustic field views and very nice staff. We had an amazingly large room in the garden part of the hotel, these come with their own patio and beautiful field and woodland view. Spotlessly clean on arrival and beautifully looked after whilst we were there. I couldn't fault it and would highly recommend this hotel. Their web page doesn't give it justice! I thought it was so much better. Loved it!

Stayed here for two nights at the start of a 3 week tour of France. We had a garden room which had its own out door sitting area. The room itself was spacious and both it and the bathroom were spotless. The hotels situation is lovely and so peaceful. We didn't have time to use the outdoor pool and hot tub but they both looked very good. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice and excellent homemade jams. We had dinner on one night and it was excellent probably the best lamb I have ever eaten. Beautifully served in a lovely setting.

We didn't stay here but had dinner twice during our stay in nearby Dame Marie les Bois. It was recommended by the owner of the house we stayed in, and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the service was very good, and we brought our twin 7-year-olds and they were treated very well. We were a party of 10 and the restaurant handled everything beautifully. We ate on the patio on a beautiful evening, overlooking the fields and the occasional hot air balloon, and it was memorable. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous and if we ever come back we would love to stay in the hotel.

We came from a castle on the Loire. We came to the bucolic beauty of the Loire countryside. My daughter selected Le Fleuray from among many wonderful Loire Hotels because it offered wonderful rooms and a well-respected chef and staff. The rooms, the views, the staff - they were wonderful. The opportunities to walk the grounds and local roads were as well. However, no one can review Le Fleuray without thanking the chef and the staff for the experience of coming home after a full day in the Loire Valley and sitting down to the wonderful evening of marvelous food and extremely cordial staff. There is a beautiful pond with a strong bass of frogs. There are beautiful cows milling about just behind the hotel. There is ivy on the sides of the hotel and wildness and artifice all about. It is a gem!

We stayed here for one night on our way back to Calais from the Lot. Beautiful location , very peaceful. This small hotel is charming , good facilities ( it was a little chilly to use the pool but the hot tub was great), room was very comfortable and dinner in the restaurant was very good. Would recommend

We stayed at Le Fleuray for 2 nights. We had just picked up some fresh cheese and milk from a nearby fromagerie, and the staff were kind enough to give us a baguette to enjoy the cheese with. The setting is quite beautiful, the staff are very helpful, and the room was comfortable and well-decorated. I highly recommend. The restaurant is also fabulous!
