This middle class hotel is a great solution to spend a few days on the beach with family and children. Located next to fishermen's square in Canet de Berenger, there is a short walk to the beach and can find along the boardwalk many restaurants and cafes. The resort has good rooms with terrace, clean and well equipped with very good holiday facilities. Large pool and another smaller for younger children, paddle and petanque courts. It also has a playground, a bar, hairdresser, tv area, and games room. During summer season they offer cinema and children's and adult entertainment. A buffet is available three times daily and, even though it is quite big and noisy, good food quality is served fairly well. The negative things we found were: 1.- Rooms air conditioning are very poor, not working properly at all. We knew that in advance and had to carry standing fans in order to improve the service 2.- Pillows of regular quality 3.- Extremely small TV 4.- Hours of use of the pool with restricted access between 3 and 4 pm and closed after 8 pm. Despite the above, children and grandchildren enjoyed it very much.
The hotel it’s self is lovely! The whole hotel seems quite modern and very clean! Pool is LOVELY and the rooms are nice too! However all the staff we came across during our 4 night visit (apart from the cleaners) were so rude it was unbelievable. When we arrived at the hotel we knew it was too early to check in, but we wanted to find out if there was somewhere we could leave our bags so we could go and explore, but the women on reception seemed to think we were trying to check in and was basically telling us to go away for 2 hours, we were trying to explain that we weren’t trying to check in, just leave our bags but she was getting more and more angry at us so we decided to leave them in the car. When it came to 2 o’clock (the time we were told we could check in) we headed back to the hotel and went to the desk go check in. A different women came to the desk to serve us, and the women who had served us before said to her colleague ‘just tell them to go away I already told them it’s to early’ (I’m guessing she wasn’t aware we speak enough Spanish to make out what she was saying) but still incredibly unprofessional and made us feel very unwelcome, but it was also unfair because it actually was the time we were meant to be able to check in??? The girl who did eventually check us in was very rude, didn’t tell us where anything was (like our room, the restaurant etc) just slammed our room card on the desk and walked away before we could ask her any questions. She also thought we were only booked in for 1 night when it was 4 and didn’t explain the mistake or reassure us that we were booked in for the correct number of nights or anything. We were also told the pool was shut, which was awful for us because the main reason we picked this hotel was because of the pool. But it actually was open and had a life guard the whole time so again, we think they just couldn’t be bothered and thought it would be easier to lie to us. We are still a little confused about why she would have lied to us about this? The restaurant staff weren’t rude as such but incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly, didn’t see a smile once. There is a handyman/maintenance guy of some description that likes to walk aimlessly around the pool staring at me the whole time which is very off putting. It’s such a shame because the hotel is so lovely but the service you get it genuinely the worst I’ve ever experienced, we were really quite disgusted and even discussed leaving early because we felt so unwelcome. We really would have loved to ask the reception staff about good places to eat etc, but they were just so rude to us we didn’t dare approach them again. If you care even slightly about not feeling hated your whole trip, definitely avoid this hotel.
Booked a holiday here with my partner, and all I can say are the hotel staff are prejudiced and racist towards non whites and we felt very uncomfortable during our stay. If you’re not white DONT go here. Leave this very mediocre hotel to the Spanish guests. Such a shame ruined our holiday. Had to rate it as terrible but that was more than I’d want to rate it as.
Last year I reviewed this hotel and gave it 3 stars. Said I wouldn't go back. However it's in a very convenient place just off the motorway. So decided to try again this year. We were 2 weeks earlier than last year and I have to say there was an improvement. Firstly the pool bar was open, more of the staff spoke English especially the young girl behind the pool bar. The towel bar was open and the children's animation was still going. The best thing was that we had a better bathroom and a pool view. The food was as good as last year, shame the weather wasn't. Still only 3 stars though because expensive compared to others we have stayed in.
I was staying at the agh canet for 8 nights with my 2 doughter. The hotel was great, it was clean and the rooms were in really good shape. The staff was also great and they could speak english as good as I 😀 The breakfast was good and tou found always something to eat. Only negative was that most of the restaurants are located at the harbour which was about 2-3km away but we loved our stay at this hotel and can recommend to others as well. You could get easily with taxi to sagunt railway station and from there just half an hour by train to Valencia city.
This was I imagine a super hotel when it was built but not anymore I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong the rooms are lovely as is the food, pool area and great wifi but that's where it stops. The reception area is huge and sparse as are the corridors and the bathroom in your room needs a total refit. Rusty bath and lots of heavy marble. Being one street away from the beach is a huge bonus. Cannot comment on the children's activities as there were none there. The staff all appear a bit miserable and you certainly need a command of the Spanish language. Luckily I do... It's certainly not a place for Brits to go on holiday but a couple of nights for sightseers is fine. Not cheap either. €100 a night for two half board in late September. Would we stay again? No...
lets start with the good: great food great location (block from the beach) AMAZING THINGS TO DO CLOSE BY large room prompt cleaning service helpfull employees clean property nice pool great animation for kids (if they speak Spanish) negative points: rust in the bathroom everywhere hole in entry ceiling no coffee pot waitress had an attitude and took the glasses off our table when I said we didn't want their beverages one day. front desk speaks moderate English - no one else you better know some Spanish if you want to enjoy this stay all animation seemed to be for kids // even late night the entertainment was for the kids to entertain the adults. if you don't rent a car, and you stay there for more than 3or4 days, you will be in real trouble if you want to do some of the amazing things there are to do around here. overall: I had a great time/Valencia and the surrounding are a complete dream.......... got into some bull runs in a little town 2k from the hotel/Roman castle 5k away - museums everywhere everywhere everywhere.......... even went bowling. The locals are extra cool!!!!!! They just don't understand you unless you speak Spanish)) BUT - AGAIN - if you don't have a car and speak some Spanish you will be in real trouble. This is not a 4 star hotel by any standard. There was nothing for adults except for the pool (you can't dive in), or paddle ball, and there is more art in a hospital than in this hotel. The lobby felt like a bus stop. Still.............. quality stay. I am not sure if was worth the money if this helps anyone. We were there for 2 weeks end of June - go in July or August PS: EVERYTHING CLOSES FOR SIESTA FROM 2:00 TO 5:30 //// SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS NOTHING IS OPEN !!!!!!!!
The location is nice. The hotel is not bad but it is from my point of view average. The staff is very bad trained an rude. They don t say thank you, please or anything that is appropriate to tell to a customer, and I refer to both reception and restaurant employees. The food was good and diverse. On the terrace, cheap plastic furniture. They did not add daily the bathroom kit, so we only had the beauty kit on our first day out of 5. Also, 2 days in a raw they did lot of noise when cutting the grass from the garden. The towels were old and extra used, should be change. The entire stay was ok, but definitely would not stay there once again.
stayed in the hotel for 5 nights in september 2016. Nice rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. We didn't have diner at the hotel so I can not say a thing about it but the all the rest was a nice experience
This is a resort hotel that is 2 blocks from the beach. You can get an American breakfast at the restaurant that is top notch. I was there in the off season so the hotel was quite. Ask for a beach view or at least a pool view beds are comfortable but small compared to the US. This hotel is well worth the money.
