Stayed here with a group of friends for two nights and we really enjoyed ourselves at this place. The 3 room apartment was spacious and clean. I love the sofa set too which was clean and no foul smell was noted. I was really surprised by the general cleaniness eventhough the exterior of the apartment looked worn out a bit. I was pleasantly surprised with the facilities available and they are quite alright. My friends and I had a great stay here as it was quite convenient to get to Mossy Forest , Sg.Palas Tea Plantation, Kea Farm and other strawberry farm attractions. However, the exterior of the apartments and hotel do need a new coat of paint. The weather here is superbly lovely and cold. However, there are no kitchen facilities despite it being good and all. Need to replace some of the chipped mugs, plates and saucers though. Overall, I had a pretty nice experience here. Yes, the price can be quite pricey but so are other places in Cameron Highlands in general. BTW, the indoor pool is not good as it is small and quite run down looking. Generally, the pool is small and hotel guest do not adhere to the dress code for swimming. The gym is small but adequate for exercise though with quite minimal exercise facilities for the constraint of space.
First, the location is good, thanks to the several attractions nearby- strawberry farm, butterfly garden, market, rose garden, tea plantation, and newly built Nova shopping mall. However, it is out of walking range to Brinchang and Tanah Rata, and all the attractions in these two towns. Secondly, the receptionists were polite and helpful. They could communicate well in English (contradict to other comments). The newly renovated room was good- equipped with flatscreen tv and satellite channels, coffee making facilities, fridge, safe, and water heater. Ceiling fan was prepared as well. So the bad comments should be on the older rooms. Anyway, the Wifi was slow and inconsistent, the air heater (conditioner) was not provided. The pool was small, the surrounding hotel garden was poorly managed, staircase was dirty, not enough signboard, and, the breakfast was so so. With more than RM 300 per night, well, the hotel was simply not good enough for the price paid. I would prefer to stay in Brinchang next time.
The room was spacious & wonderful.. but upon arriving, there was a foul smell.. opened the minibar & there was spoiled food left by the previous guests. Called the receptionist & they changed the minibar to a new one! Hehe ..
We stayed at Copthorne Hotel for 3 nights and this has been the worst ever hotel experience. Our struggles began from the moment we arrived - the receptionists' English was poor, they were kind but really unable to help with the most simple questions - like booking a taxi for example or recommending places to eat around (which by the way there are almost none). The rooms are very, very old and in desperate need of renovation - dirty bathrooms, the wooden doors are destroyed, the bed and the tables have been painted and look absolutely disgusting, the condition of their facilities is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. The location is far from everything you need. It is far from Tanah Rata and Brinchang, which means you need taxis at all times and you are highly dependent on traffic. Better find a nice guest house in Tanah Rata and avoid Copthorne.
I would like to say,if there is an award for the most rude receptionist. You guys should be getting one of the Award. I was on a week holiday in malaysia to celebrate my wife birthday cum our anniversary.I did inform upon check in that i would like a best view room. So your staff says all the best view rooms are fully booked.Funny, cause when i was here.its only tuesday and not on any festive period.I guess it's true, you just pushed the old rooms first before giving the guest the nice room. When i step in the room, omg.to my disbelief.what in a world of 4 star hotel looking like a 1 and half star hotel. The carpet of the room have stains of burnt marks by iron.window can't be closed and yes,the all time famous algae in the toilet. Is this how you treat a loyalty customer? I have entrusted your hotel to take care of my precious day but end up ruined by "awesome" room and services. If given a chance,i would love to have my money back!. Total waste of time since i drove 536km from singapore to here. Hope you have more service etiquette and better understanding on special occasion on what to provide.
We booked a 3 rooms apartment (17318). Enough parking lots. Nice apartment but no appropriate kitchen. There is a sink at the balcony but an oven inside on a wall shelf.kinda weird how they set up their 'kitchen'. Rooms size are good. 2 rooms with sharing toilet. Some taps are not functioning well. We need to mend the flush tank ourselves to avoid water wasting. Their breakfast are awesome and varioys. The hotel is situated near to restaurants and the famous kea farm market.if only the hotel make a short cut trail to the market it would be much better. Overall, we are happy with the stay.
Last I stayed in this place was when it was still name Equatorial Hotel. This time when we checked in, the place looked very much rundown The walls has bad water leakage stains and mouldy There was bottle of liquor left around the ballroom floors
We stayed in the apartment for 2 nights, all the bad reviews are true so I'm not going to repeat them but one thing, I'm surprised no one mentioned, was how hard are the bed mattresses we slept on ! I suspect they are made of wood, never have I ever slept on such kind of hard mattress in entire life ! Sometimes I wonder about the people who run this place ever had any feeling for their customers or higher purpose other than just making money
I visited Cameron Highlands with my parents and booked a 2 bedroom apartment at the Copthorne. I have been to other Copthorne hotels and had a pleasant experience, so was shocked at the condition of this one. In the first room they gave us, the smell of air freshener was so strong that we could not breathe, and the mosquito net on the balcony door was badly broken so we could not get open the door to air the room out. We asked for another room, which was located quite far from the main building but did not smell so we accepted it. Throughout my stay here, I did not feel clean. The room was very run down and I feel the whole hotel needs renovation. There were piles of dust in the corners, disgusting stains on the duvet, damp in the bathroom, and the kitchen was falling apart (see photos). The room was not cheap at RM380 per night and I don't know how they get away with charging this much given the standard of accomodation. The location was good, however I would definitely not stay here again.
Just the heighest hotel at the top of Cameron Higjland. Not much special except a branded hotel. In term of facility not so much special compared to ordinary hotel in Kuala Lumpur. But this is a great location.
