The property was tired and needed upgrading . The bed is as comfortable.
It is an old, tired hotel that needs a makeover. The building is beautiful but lifts are slow, paint and varnish are in need of touch -up, furniture is old and tired, carpets need replacing. Not worth the rate I paid, but supply and demand dictate that of course.
This was our second stay at this hotel. well situated, easy walk to several pubs in Cambridge Center
Nice, clean, cost-effective but dated. Staff were very helpful.
Elegant and comfortable room and convenient central location
wonderful stay perfect location. breakfast buffet was very good and the restaurant staff were perfect
A nice hotel but overall very tired in terms of decor and design. One notable point was a notice posted outside the bar asking all guests to refrain from using their cell phones or mobile devices!!!! That seems very odd and is probably still hanging there from many, many years ago. Note; at 2pm on a Saturday in the bar EVERY table was on their phones, which is quite the norm these days. Check in was awesome with "Dan"...i think. who was beyond excellent. Check out was a nightmare. Waited in line for 37 minutes. Their IT was having issues and the system couldn't do what it was supposed to do. On top of that there was one receptionist only for a busy Saturday morning checkout...really!! She coped as best as she could but it was just frustrating and inconvenient for the long line of guests trying to check out and move out. Rooms were fine but the all the doors slam unbelievably loudly. I am well aware of fire codes and having the doors close but this was insane. And the best bit.....breakfast on a Saturday closes by 9.30am!!!! I really think the owners need to re-evaluate the product here.
