BAck again after a less than brilliant stay last year. It did not start well. We were shown to our room , which was very nice , but when I went to the bathroom and lifted the toilet seat, the whole seat was unstable and rocking. WOuld have hated to sit on that. Rang housekeeping who turned up a little later , took a look and then said there was nothing they could do. So they moved us to another room, which was far less pleasant. Now surely when the maid cleaned the room and 'disinfected' the toilet she/he should have notice that the seat was loose, so the whole situation should not have happened Other than this the room was OK, although the TV and it's operating system was a bit challenging. Also very poor choice of non French programming, seemingly limited to news channels some of which did not work. Also parking charged ( if you could not find a space on the street) was very high at 33 euros per night. Overall it was OK , but again I have had better service and better rooms in hotels which are not rated 5 stars, We ate twice in the Restaurant and the first time the food was very good indeed. I had a brilliant piece of fish . The second time was not so great, mostly due to the service which because we were still dressed in our outdoor clothes, they seemed to treat us like 2nd class citizens.

Super hotel. Great food , ice rooms. Great shades to be sure you sleep well. Really walk to each and the “American Cabanas” and also through the town into the beautiful residential areas. Bar was very quaint and peaceful. Totally enjoyable.

the best hotel we have stayed so far ; they know all about service quality and expect all our needs. we really appreciated the hotel facilities and room comfort. We have booked a superior room with balcony with sea view.

Very classy old hotel. Service is excellent. Everyone aims to make your stay luxurious. The restaurant is expensive but the food spans service is impeccable. Rated only 4 stars since little things were missing. No turndown and towels were not completely replaced. No hand towels or wash cloths. Very quiet with comfortable bed and linens.

I've to both normandy and royal @ Deauville, the main advantage of the normandy is that it has been renovated and that the swimming pool is indoor. Rooms are very "normand style" and services are good as 5stars hotels should always be. great place to stay!

We stayed for 4 nights at Le Normamdy for our 10 th anniversary . We are regular Deauville visitors and we decided to treat ourselves to a special place anyhow to what appears to be a special place . On our special day we had after diner drinks in the bar with a few friends . We asked for a dessert menu but the waitress said there is nothing and if we wanted something we should go to our room ( unusual for a 5 stars hotel , I,guess they should spend a week in an Asian 5 stars hotel ! ) Anyhow that was not the problem but the attitude of the waitress was outrageous . First of all all the staff in the bar looked like they where all "15 years old ". Our waitress was terribly rude and arrogant , it's the story of the frog wanting to be the bull . I will skip al the details but it ruined our evening and my wife was in tears . We immediately complained to another "15 years old" at reception . He told us he had no power and someone will be in touch . For the next two days no one contacted us , only at departure time the manager came , listen to our complains , smiled , apologised, ask out of good form what we wanted when in essence he should have not ask but take the initiative to do something about it , he gave me his card and we left . I personally think we was totally bored with us and just pretended to care . Don't be fool by Le Normandy beautiful facade with its airs of " Grandeur" . The bar waitress as lost two clients for the hotel ,ruin our anniversary , upset my wife a great deal and embarrass us in front of our friends . To add insult to injury management did nothing and simply ignore us for 2 days .

If you ever have seen the old movies that take place in Grand Hotels or even thinking about the recent Grand Budapest Hotel movie, this is it. This hotel has so much history and charm with the same characters from the concierge to doorman to manager. It is such a welcome break from the regular large hotel chains with cookie cutter models. Everything is unique. The rooms are great with the old world charm that has been renovated to modern standards. The view and the atmosphere, the scenery and the people are all so distinct; the best of European horse collectors gather here to trade and auction their horses. There are always polo matches in town with the European high society partying after the events. The weekend we stayed there, there was a function for one of these auctions and the hotel was bustling with an understated Hermes wearing crowd lining up to enter the dining room for cocktails and appetizers. It is a very distinguished crowd who frequent this hotel. On the walls of the hotel, there are photographs of all the celebrities and dignitaries who have stayed here. This is one of those hotels that definitely transcends you to a different time; a time when life was more romantic. The one thing that needs improvement is the food. The quality of the food is lagging the setting of the hotel. The menus are very limited and there is not much variety. A few of the French staff also have a bit of attitude where as the Eastern European staff are extremely polite but most of the time do not understand neither French or English. This is why I have given 4 stars instead of 5 but I must say that this is a wonderful place to stay and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I agree with all the other reviews as this is in the main part a good hotel. But make sure you don't get Room 165 or anything near it. They are above the conference rooms below which have speakers in the ceiling. Consequently, one can be woken up by the din of some boring speaker which then continues throughout the day. I wouldn't mind if I could work out what they were might have been interesting! It's like listening to someone else's loud TV through a wall. And don't expect management to do much about it. "Next time you come, we'll give you an upgrade." I don't want an upgrade....I want to be compensated for you having delivered a poor product at a high price.

If you are looking for the famous hotel in Deauville, this is the one !!! Quite newly furnished, it's a very high level service there. The spa is ok, not the best in the world but enough. You can borrow for free a bicycle for 1h. And you will have a discret access to the casino via a tunnel. The last but not least, try the restaurant, it's a nice experience. Diner and BREAKFAST !!! On y retournera surement

It promised so much. Amazing location and lots of hype but we were left very disappointed. On arrival, an hour after check in time our room was not ready and reception staff were more interested in getting our credit card details than welcoming us. In fact, there was no welcome. Housekeeping was sloppy and paper cups for tea and coffee in the room. Really? £600+ per night for a family room and you give us paper cups? And €8 for a tonic water in the bar... They charge €35 each for breakfast but we spent that at a delightful patisserie two mins walk away for a family of four. Oh and if you drive and want to park they charge €33 per night but it wasn't obvious when we booked. The rooms were clean enough but the interior design is an acquired taste. I guess, on reflection, it just feels like a big chain, pricey, impersonal hotel. So if you want that then happy days...
