Close to Callantsoog are old towns such as Schagen with its West Frisian market, Alkmaar with its famous cheese market and Den Helder with many interesting museums. A nice trip to Texel is also possible. Furthermore, Callantsoog is located directly behind the dunes in the 'Zwanewater' nature reserve.
