The Inn is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. If you are looking for something in the middle of the city, this is not your place. BUT, if you are looking for something that is a little outside of the hustle and bustle, this is your place! The surrounding shops and cafes are super close and very good, and the walking path is just steps away with Downtown only 15 min walk. My only complain is that it is right on the road, which you can obviously hear.
the Kensington's attention to detail, decor, pampered experience, fine cuisine and friendly, knowledgeable staff made this a memorable Anniversary! You don't need your car as everything is within walking distance.
We had a delightful stay in this lovely small and cozy boutique hotel with gourmet food served in a beautiful atmosphere and excellent caring staff. The beds are so comfortable!!! The rooms are peaceful and we'll appointed.
Used this location on arrival in Calgary last year so stayed here on the night before our return flight, All staff are friendly and helpful, special note is for Nathan who checked us in. Rooms clean and well appointed
When we arrived we were met in the underground car park Water was provided and the check in was easy. We had been upgraded to a king suite with balcony The hotel is very tastefully decorated in shades of grey and the distinctive art work adds colour The room was lovely Very spacious with couch and chairs in front of fire and large tv The room is on the dual carriage side so had lots of road noise and really the balcony was just for show as it overlooked the very busy road and the river not really visible Next door to the hotel is a construction site which started pile driving at 7am am the hotel vibrated along with the pile driver When in the beautiful deep bath the vibrations were really noticeable The noise from the constant fan in the room was troublesome for me during the night and it can't be turned off but I was offered ear plugs If you are really noise sensitive this is not good place as it is noisy The products supplied in bathroom are by skoah. Made in Canada are lovely and supplied in large wall mounted containers We did not eat at the inn as breakfast was not in our room rate but locals tell me it is good The staff were very friendly and when I had problem with bedding it was sorted immediately The bed was really comfortable and coffee is delivered in thermos flasks to the door in the morning The inn is in Kensington which is nice area and the river walk pleasant I used the Kensington gym where the hotel has arrangement so didn't have to pay I had a great time in Calgary Hope you do Pinkie
Have stayed here many times and the service and breakfast are always outstanding. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and accommodate you. The location is excellent and central to Calgary with many nice walks along the river as an additional bonus.
My wife and I stayed here on the second night of our honeymoon on our way to BANFF from Colorado. The service was very welcoming when we got there and the room was exactly how I thought it would be. However, the name "Riverside Inn" was a bit confusing because it doesn't sit right next to the river. There is a street between the Inn and the river which makes the Inn feel like any other luxurious hotel. I though we would get a better view of the river. Other than that the Inn was great and the Oxbow restaurant was very very good!
Brilliant hotel. Excellent location, amazing food and fabulous service! Bikes were free to rent and we cycled along the river and into town. If I had one suggestion it would be to ask for a kettle in the room so we could make our own tea - otherwise amazing!!
My wife and I stayed in a Riverview Suite for two nights at the start of our honeymoon tour of AB and BC, and it proved to be a great choice. We were impressed with the size of our room and the great views from the terrace out onto the Bow River and the cityscape beyond. The road outside the hotel, Memorial Drive, can be busy at times but the sound and light insulation in our room was excellent and our stay was peaceful. Service was good throughout, with the tea/coffee delivery to your room in the mornings a particularly nice touch. We were especially grateful for a recommendation from a staff member to visit Calgary's Olympic Park - we ended up taking their advice and trying out the luge and zip line from the Olympic ski jump - they were awesome and absolute musts for adventurous types! We took advantage of the hotel's provided "food allowance", and ate one breakfast and one dinner at the on-site Oxbow restaurant. On both occasions the quality of the food and service was outstanding and we thought it excellent value for money. It was great to be able to borrow bikes from the hotel, and the location made it very easy to access to the city's network of safe and well-maintained cycle paths. We would definitely stay here again.
The purpose of our trip was a family visit, and the Kensington Riverside Inn was very near to our son's apartment. The hotel was wonderful. Beautiful rooms and great amenities as well. By booking directly we got a credit for food and drink in the restaurant and lounge, which was a great cost and time saver. The neighbourhood is very lively, with lots of good restaurants and shops. Very close to the rapid transit system. Will return.
