Executive Royal Hotel Calgary3.0 out of 5.0

We needed a room just for the night. So I was ok with what we had. The cons were the restaraunt closed early in the evening. Everything seemed dated. But it was super quiet. Didn't hear anybody. Front desk people were friendly both check in and check out. It's a good hotel if you are checking in the evening and leaving in the morning
Worst hotel stayed in out of the 5 different hotels during our stay in Calgary/Alberta. They call themselves luxurious and with a name with Executive Royal Hotel we expected nothing but the best service. For starters the sink in the bathroom leaked bad, to the point we used all towels in the room to soak up the mess. The room didn't seem very clean, you could see the floor wasn't swept or washed since the previous guest was here. There is no pool (not a deal breaker for us but with the name etc you expect there would be one and the price you pay). They do not offer complimentary breakfast for guests, you must pay $14 each for a cold buffet that any other hotel offers for free. The maid also came into our room at 7:30am expecting to clean it while we were still in bed and we hadn't checked out yet, she did not knock she just came right in. All she said was 'when are you leaving so we can start to clean.' Check out time was still 3.5 hours away, just ridiculous. Do not come here, you will pay more money for horrible service with no amenities.
Decent hotel but not really executive level. Our room was not well cleaned. The furniture was o.k. but it needed more lamps and wasn't more than average size. It felt small. The guest directory wasn't very helpful. The breakfast was very good but I couldn't find syrup -- it probably was there but wasn't labeled. The room was nicely furnished and the bathroom was above average.
The room was a good size and clean. The restaurant had good food and good service for a good price. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. Convenient location close to the airport, the Chinook Centre and Deerfoot Meadows, and just off the TransCanada. You can avoid most of the city traffic getting to and leaving from the hotel if you so wish. The price was relatively decent.
Awesome service met all our needs during a 3 day stay here. The staff were eager to please with a smile on their faces. They were genuine, caring and personable. A refreshing stay. Staff were prompt and eager to please. Rooms were clean and fresh feeling.
Myself and a few friends stayed here during the stampede. It was perfect location for us - half way between the airport and the stampede. The hotel room was huge and big enough for three adults (king bed, pull out, and a cot). Great value.
Overall I was very happy. The room was clean, there were no undesirable odours. I would definitely recommend it again. Thought the price was a bit heafty but I guess you get what you pay for. One of the staff at the breakfast area was very friendly. I went there because I wanted to go to Calaway Park with my son. It's about a 30 min drive to the park. It's a great central location.
An absolutely fantastic place to stay in Calgary. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. The Hotel, and rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is great! We come to a Calgary for medical appointments and the staff is so supportive and helpful it's like having a second family and home.
Where do I start? This hotel underwhelmed in all respects. The most disappointing aspect is the breakfast and the restaurant service. The lady waitress is arrogant and doesn't move an inch to accommodate you. Breakfast is arbitrarily either buffet or alacarte. No variation in the buffet breakfast. We got tired in two days. Alacarte will take a minimum of 30 mins to arrive. The waitress refused to send breakfast to the room for our kids. Internet is supposed to be free but at speeds of 1 mbps and that too with an intermittent connection, better make your own arrangements. The air con is poor and in the name of energy saving, shuts down completely after midnight. Avoid this hotel if you can
I came here for work and the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Rooms were also very clean. The gym was well equipt for a hotel with a selection of machines, weights, yoga ball and medicine balls. Location was also great. My co workers drove there and it was just off the trans Canada with a ton of restaurants and pubs within walking distance.
