It was a joy to eat here, with fairly standard Portuguese food. But the best bit by far was walking along to the cafe next door and enjoying a coffee with fabulous views from high up. Its really a hotel or club, but the restaurants are open to the public.
I liked this place. Great views and a perfectly acceptable room. Staff were very helpful, the breakfast pretty good, great views through out and especially from the pool and the prices in the bar were cheaper than the beach. Could do with a bit more signage and information. I think it is a resort particularly for civil servants or something like that as there were a lot of French guests there who were on some sort of exchange - I might be wrong though. The beach is lovely and there are plenty of beach bars and restaurants there. However on Tuesday evening, almost everything closed at about 7 (this might not be the case in peak season). Recommended!
I suggest someone comes with a Caterpillar to pull that place down. The views merit a 4 or 5 star hotel. We had an ice cream; big mistake. No turnover, too high temperature of the fridge. The ice cream tasted like paper mixed with plastic. Next day the bill came under the form of a solid turista problem. One pack of antibiotics later I start to feel better. I file a complaint with food inspection.Take coffee or a closed soft drink at the bar, verify the date and enjoy the views on the terrace on a sunny day!
First of all, you see this very large multi-level property sitting on the top of a hill while driving on the road to the beach. The location is stunning. Friends had heard it was a "great place for ice cream" - well, to cut to the chase, this is delusional. The ice cream is standard plastic ice cream and one of my friend's bodies spent the night reminding him he'd made a bad choice. When I ordered a glass of white wine, the first offering was oxidized. They didn't have another cold bottle so they went up to the restaurant and gave me some ice to put in my glass. To get back to the good parts, you can sit outside on a very, very large terrace overlooking the lagoon and out to the ocean. Driving up the hill to the hotel is a bit of a trick as there is 2-way traffic on a 1.5 way wide road with lots of cutbacks. Not for the faint of heart! You'll also do lots of walking as the parking is several blocks away from the cafe. Note, the cafe isn't the restaurant. Oh yes, we did spent several hours there and it was not at all crowded mid-week in mid March. There were some retired people playing cards and a few people came and went having a coffee. Another item of note is that it has the highest elevation location from which to view the lagoon - this is nice.
A large quite sprawing hotel, bit of a pidgeon hole, feeling as you walked the lengh of the corridors but room was fine. Our visit marred somewhat by being unable to find a quiet sunny spot away from organised activities for coach groups of singing and quizzing. Location was faultless. Chose to eat out and away.
We were very disappointed when we saw our room allocation on arrival as it was ground floor at the rear of the hotel with a view of a wall and a weed patch and smelt damp. When we returned to reception and informed them that we booked this hotel because of its location and views across the lagoon we were told that it may not be possible to change rooms due to other bookings. We waited while the receptionist looked on the computer and after a while she found a room that was available but said there MAY be an extra charge of 5 or 6 Euros. We asked her to do what she could re extra charges as it was our first time in the region had booked the hotel because of its location and views and when booking there was no facility on their web site to differentiate between rooms with or without a view. During the first five days of our stay, we were surprised to see no more than 10-15 people at breakfast. For a hotel with 95 rooms we cannot understand why with such a low level of occupancy the receptionist made such a fuss about changing rooms. A goodwill upgrade of room would have been more appropriate under the circumstances. Thus we were surprised that on the day of check out we were presented with an additional charge of 48 Euros for the change of room. On our first evening we decided to check of the hotel restaurant for dinner, which was buffet style. However, there was only one diner in the restaurant. On offer was chicken pieces and vegetables. So poor in fact that we left and went off by car to seek alternative dining. The breakfast was pretty uninspiring and repetitive, but was basic and edible. The decor was a little tired, shower leaked and there was no bath (only shower) which was not mentioned on the website. Only the plus side if you get a view it is fantastic. The location is great. The maid service was excellent and bar staff always very friendly. However, based on the above, in our view this hotel is more 2 star than 3 star.
We missed the Inatel when we arrived and ended up staying at a nearby guest house that was nearly double the price, unwelcoming and basic. We were therefore very relieved to find the Inatel the next night and, despite paying just 54 euros, enjoyed a superb view of the lagoon and the Atlantic from our balcony. The room and bathroom was clean and sufficiently spacious and breakfast the next morning was a delight compared to our experience at the guest house. The Inatel has a well-appointed lounge, games room and patio area with wi fi access - there was no internet access in our room in one of the accommodation blocks - also with superb views.
Went only for breakfast. Very cheap compared to London prices. Was a great view (last year was better with out the dredgers )no fault of their own. Great staff and cooked breakfast on a budget. Will pop in again next year. Great location but I don't think you will get a better breakfast anywhere close.
It is a 3stars hotel well located in front of the lagoon and with a wonderful view. Rooms are very nice, clean, new and well decorated. Breakfast is very good! Ask for room with view. The hotel does not have pool. Single or double room has the same price.
All went smooth, since the exchange of emails to book to the checkout and all the staff was very polite and helpful. Our room was immense, we were 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we had one single bed for each and plenty of room left. Breakfast was very complete and you could find bacon, eggs, cereals, fruit... Dinner as buffet with fish and meat and it was always good and plenty. The only thing that I would change are the machines at the smal gym, they are old and not practical. I will go back, definitely!
