Insotel Cala Mandía Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Wonderful Trip

The trip was excellent because of the island. The resort was not a bad place to stay, everyone was very friendly and helpful. What I didn't like about it was how far away from the airport and city it was. The bus system was very good but the hours limited the availability to get to and from the airport. Not many people spoke English, so it might not be as pleasant of an experience if you don't know any Spanish. The resort leaves it up to you to be proactive about any of the activities offered... there are schedules posted for all of the sports/entertainment. I didn't participate in any of the resort activities other than the buffet every day. The food was good and it came free with my reservation. They also offer an all-inclusive package but I don't know exactly the details of it. There is a cove/beach nearby, within 5 min walking distance. All in all, I would say if you are an independent and proactive traveler it is a good place to stay, very peaceful and relaxing. It also was a little more quiet I believe because I went before the tourist season began. One of the staff told me that usually there are around 2000 people at the resort and at the time I was there, there were only about 50-60. I would look for a different location next time. It is near Porto Cristo but most of the sights are near Palma.

Hipotels Mediterráneo Hotel

At least it is on the beach!

The selling point of the hotel was that it was an adults only hotel and it is on the beach. The staff at the hotel were quite accommodating especially at the concierge desk. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The room that we were given was far from good. The beds were lumpy and moved around. The lights hummed and air was either off or ice cold, regardless of the settings. The cleaning staff also used something that smelled overly floral and set off my allergies that my normal allergy meds were not able to calm. Overall the hotel is in decent condition, nice pool and it is right on the only beach in the area. Not much ambiance or entertainment around the pool area though. Also be prepared to rent your room safe, beach towels and everything else. Very 80's in that regard, also I would say that 80% of the visitors are German as are all but 3 of the TV channels. Also be warned, there is nothing nice to see, do or eat within walking distance of the hotel.

Hotel Cala d'Or

very pleased

Excellent. There were a multitude of options within the hotel itself itself for dining and relazation as well as being a short walk to botht e docks and the piers for a variety in your day. The spa services were terifiic and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend it.
