What a horrible experience. Staying at pyramisa was a real disappointment. They claim to be 5 star but they closer to 2star. Poor service staff Outdated decor Poorly maintained rooms Bland expensive food And room service only takes cash, it is 2017 but pyramisa functions like it is 1994. Ps. The manager makes the same generic reply to all negative reviews
Went here for a couple of nights before returning to GB on my friends insistence it was better than I thought, nice food staff friendly enough, the worst problem was the second night when we had to get up at 5.30am to get to the airport and there was a wedding on with loud music until 3.30am not conducive to sleep!!
Visiting Cairo is an amazing experience. De city does not feel less safe than any European city. In order to get to see the city for real, you need at least a week. After a day in a fascinating though hectic Cairo, that in habitats 20 million people, the Hotel Pyramisa Cairo is the perfect getaway. Very close to the Westside of the Nile and only a 10-minute walk from the Metro, you find an oasis of calm. It is a large hotel, also used for business purposes, with a luxury feel. A lot of marmor is used in the design. To Western European standards the hotel definitely deserves the four stars. The reception and staff is very helpful. The beautiful, very spacious, well-kept rooms all offer views of the outdoor swimming pool, where you can relax without any background noise from the city. There is a restaurant that does not offer 'haute cuisine', but prepares good meals. The buffet breakfast is of high level, varied and plentiful. It offers an excellent start to the day, which will fill you up till the evening. We stayed at this hotel in the last week of February 2017, a great time of the year to see much of the city without it being too warm, at around 20 degrees, even a bit too cold still to enjoy the swimming pool. The price / quality ratio of this hotel is excellent.
I usually don't give places 1 star, but omg, how much this places deserves it. I CANNOT express how much I suggest others to stay somwhere else. Please don't pay the money for this so called 5 stsr hotel. We arrived early to the hotel, as everything went ff since we landed in Egypt. I knew they cannot check us in that early, but I was expecting to do an exception and only we'll habe to wait 1 max 2 hours until they will let us in our rooms. That didn't happen. We waited 3 1/2 hours, then, as we were exhausted, we agreed to a twin bed room until a king size bed will be available, later that day to change. We slept for about 4 hours, woke up, went downstairs and asked about the room. They told me bothing available now, but later on when i come back to the hotel, it will be ready. Once we came back, around 22:30, the receptionist knew about us, told to give him 15 min and then go back to him. After 15 min, I went to him and got from someone else a big fat, we don't have anything available, but in 30 min i will fix it. Waited 30 min more, to go back and see the guy from the morning; they changed the shifts, so they went home and left us to dry. The new one now told me.to give him again 30 min to see what and where and so on. The problem was not only the twin beds, the problem was the fact that one of the beds' base, half was missing, making it impossible to sleep in, so I had to sleep with my gf in a single bed and I am not a small guy... The rooms and the hotel are a disgrace for 5 star hotels in the world. I cannot imagine how such a place can get 5 stars, it's beyond my comprehension. I have attached pictures for you people to see how they greet the guests and how the rooms, the corridors and thr furniture is maintained. The amenities in the room are sparse if I am a nice guy. Sachets of sugar and coffee and some teabags. No water, no bathrobe, no slippers and so on... After 1 night in hell, we moved to Novotel and enjoyed the rest of our stay. Please do not stay there, you will regret it!
We booked this hotel hoping some kind of luxury and comfort but what a waste of money it proved to be. Front staff is RUDE. very efficient in being unhelpful. Room size was smaller than usual and service took plenty of time than normal. Even teabag took 40 minutes to arrive. It’s typical and rigid in approach. Airport pickup quoted me $30 which finally agreed on $20 and Uber charged me $9.5 when I flew back to India. Speaks a lot about the hotel policies. Keys need to activated every day???? Even the food was very average quality. Overall very disappointed with it. Will advise that one can spend slightly more and choose a better place line Stiegenberger or meridian.
We enjoyed our stay at Pyramisa Cairo Very good food..very good staff.. Nice rooms beautiful view..I love the night Time at hotel with the live band and the Very delicious dinner...I been coming here for years and I will be back again soon Thank you...
Stayed hear 3 nights before we went on are cruse. Not many in hotel so we had pool mostly for are self’s, food 24 hour and a choice of 4 restaurants all have same menu and it takes a while to be served and get the drinks and food, food ok lovely décor ground floor. Rooms could do with a good re vamping but nice and comfortable, staff nice and helpful. Breakfast nice, lots to choose from, and you can keep going back for more.
I had a horrible experience because of Ramsey one of the representatives from tour company that they use located inside of the hotel also for my experience. Hotel The rooms were damp. My washcloth didn't even dry after I hung it for the entire day. They didn't clean our room the first day after asking me what time I wanted the room cleaned. I had to ask the manager the next day to make sure that they cleaned it. It took them 2 hours, 2 phone calls and 2 trips downstairs to get housekeeping to bring up towels (this is the day our room wasnt cleaned). We just finished the camel ride and wanted to shower. The address to the hotel is also wrong it is not 60 Giza street. They don't even know the correct address. When we Ubered we went to the Sheraton across the street. It's only a few bucks more per night and the folks there are extremely kind. One lady when out of her way to find out about a local event that lacked details like the start time. When I asked the people at Giza they just acted confused. STAY AT THE SHERATON across the street. it's way better, beautiful hotel and worth the price! It's about $167 per night. Worth it! DO NOT USE THE TOUR COMPANY INSIDE THE HOTEL!!! Our first day in Cairo we asked about a Giza pyramids tour. Ramsey said we would go to the Giza, meet a guide on pyramid street and then go to the pyramids. He informed us that the camel ride wasn't including in the price. After the Giza we were to go to the Bazaar and el tahrir square. We paid 800 Egyptian pounds each. The driver took us to this papyrus shop. We were in the middle of the showroom with a sales guy talking loudly to other customers and kept turning off the lights to show a picture that glowed in the dark. The woman speaking has a thick Arabic accent and was hard to understand. On top of that she set up 3 chairs in the middle of the showroom and tried to explain the history. She then tried to force her artwork on us to purchase for 30 minutes saying she was just doing her job. I thought her job was to tell us about the pyramids. By the way her shop is NOT located on pyramid street. She went over by 50 minutes and we ended up getting to the camel ride at 2:00pm where we were greeted by another hustler. The guy doing the camel ride tried to change us $65 USD for 30 minutes $85 for an hour and $125 for 2 hours. Completely outrageous. After 30 minutes he settled on $50 USD for 2 hours and said we would see all 6 of the pyramids big and little, sphinx the hill and the tombs. Again we were lied to. We didn't see the hill and were rushed to the sphinx because it closed at 4 and we didn't start our "2 hour" ride until 2:30. There was a guy camel guide and a little boy. They were probably related. When we went to tip he asked for a tip for them both and said to give from the heart. As I did so the guy disapproved and complained that the amount only translates to a couple USD and asked for more. SCAM! You live in Egypt not America so don't compare currency and it's very unprofessional. After the driver had us go to his friends oil shop where we wasted about 45 minutes. We were fed up and refused to go inside when he made 2 additional stops to his friends store to try to get us to buy. One store was random gifts and another was cotton t shirts. The drivers get additional money even if you don't go buy anything and just go in. That's their hustle. The driver was upset that we didn't go in and even have the shop people come to the car and try to convince us. By this time it was 6pm and he said it was too late To go to the bazaar and el tahrir square. We paid ahead of time and even gave the driver a 100 pound tip. No one said anything about us not completing the tour. The next day we asked to complete the rest of the tour and they wanted an additional $17 USD each from us. I wasn't having it. We ended up having to talk to the manager of the hotel Tareq who said initially they're a separate company but I explained it reflected poorly on their hotel because they referred us to them and it's located inside or their establishment. Once tareq realized it would affect him he decided to help and asked me to give the hotel a good review. Ramsey wasn't there but another guy was who fake called Ramsey. We knew it was fake because when tareq asked to speak to him no one was on the line. Then the guy pulled out another phone and miraculously was connected to Ramsey. A driver came to take us to bazaar but drove us back to the hotel instead of taking us to el tahrir square. We were never compensated for not going to the square which we paid for. DO NOT TRUST THEM THIS IS A SCAM!!!
My wife and I stayed in Pyramisa hotel mid January this year, the hotel is very clean with a very good house keeping service, entertainment every night with live music in the foyer of the hotel, best Shisha and food with a very reasonable and affordable price.we experienced the best customer service from all the staff , special thanks to captain Essam he is a very respectable and honest helpful man. Lots of greeting from Australia.
Excellent location I stayed with some friends during September for 4 nights the hotel is very busy that affects the servicce a lot if you happen to need a fresh towel that will take around 1 hour to be delivered, the bed sheets had spots on them the cleanliness of the room can be enhanced, coming to personalized service i have to stop on the rude behavior and attitude we received from Abdelrahman at reception, the lobby cafe is very nice and shisha is good truly recommended.
