Very nice hotel , with a marvelous view over the Nile river , me and a friend stayed in a suite, very suitable for families with two separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a very spacious reception like a living room, and a separate big dressing room , the hotel features a parking lot with a 100 l.e per night which is relatively low comparing to other five stars hotel , it’s location is brilliant considering you would only need to cross a small bridge to be in Cairo, opera house then downtown os at a walking distance, the later would take you around 15 minuets walk , Giza pyramids are around 10 miles away , busy mohamdsin are is 10 minutes away , the place has a good functioning free WiFi , couldn’t get any better, specially with the relatively cheap price comparing to other five stars hotels near by
Who ever reviewed this hotel as the best five star hotel in Cairo obviously has not ever stayed in a five star hotel! This is anything but five stars. First the positives; The location is well placed, that front office staff, Porters and staff in general are very friendly. The entrance foyer appears to be quite grand and large. The negatives; The hotel advertises non smoking rooms, i think this is only in theory as i requested a non smoking room but had to change twice due to the pungent smell of my " non smoking" room The law is that all public areas should be non smoking but this is not applied and the hotels do not even attempt to apply this. My non smoking room had ashtrays both in the room and in the bathroom?? how can this be a non smoking room?? The hotel is named the Pyramisa suites hotel. The rooms are NOT suites but regular hotel rooms!. They are old, poorly maintained and very tired and dirty. the Housekeeping department really does need a lot of training. The carpet in my room although"non smoking" was full of cigarette burns, the furniture was in a very poor condition. the bed sheets were not big enough to tuck in. the curtains were faded and not clean. the beds are old and in general the rooms are grimy and un cared for!! It did have a good supply of hot water and at a good pressure. The breakfast looks good when you enter the room and is adequate. but to get a hot drink took me 20 minutes, i asked for a coffee and the waiter put hot milk in my cup and then forgot to come back to add the coffee. Again the staff need training as this is not their fault but the fault of the hotels management !!. The public areas are also not very clean, the tables in the foyer area that have glass tops are not removed for cleaning and so there is dirt and grime all along the glass edges and sides. The sofas have marks on them and again are old. The hotel has predominantly large numbers of clients from the Gulf region who are the main people that smoke everywhere. The reception area is full of ashtrays and the whole area is full of people smoking. If you are a non smoker then do not go to this hotel!! This hotel has the potential be a very pleasant place to stay but the hotel needs to be courageous and stop the smoking or at least be true to non smoking rooms and impose a fine if clients do smoke in these rooms as is normal in hotels around the world. The hotel management really do need to get on top of training the housekeeping department as this is one of the main areas that the hotel fall down on.

Not 5 star At all.... Worse hotel dirty rooms dusty and old fashioned. Please take away 4 star ratings it is not even worth 2 stars. Bad reception staff nit helpful. Worse experience on egypt was staying in this hotel. Please don't book in this hotel can book in a better hotel for the same price should have went to novetel rather.
I'm sorry but our first night in Cairo was ruined. Firstly reception staff couldn't find our reservation and when they eventually found our booking made us wait over an hour before sorting things out. Having rung up the week before to ask if I could pay in English Pounds and told yes, these were refused. My sister in law had to pay for the first night on her credit card. So up to the deluxe 2 bedroom suite we went.......things got worse...... The lift was small and dated and smelt of cigarettes. When we were showed around our room we were in disbelief! The room was dirty, the carpet was filthy, the bathroom door didn't close. The fitting around the shower was so disgusting we had to clean it with tissue paper before we washed. We were disgusted. When we asked for an iron we received a broken ironing board and an iron which was so filthy we really couldn't use it. This hotel is bad, very bad and I wouldn't wish anyone to stay here. We checked out the following morning having found another hotel during the very sleepless night we had.
This Hotel obviously used to be something lavish; but that was years and years ago. Everything apart from the lobby is just vintage. The lobby is full of open cafes and is somewhat decorated. Having arrived earlier than expected the front desk were considerate enough to give us early check in. The hotel entrance is located in a side street next a big police station. We booked Nile river view but were given a city view suite. After a lot of wasted time and much deliberation going back and forth I was finally able to convince them to give me a Nile River view suite. The rooms are just old and stained from years and years of overuse. Some electric sockets wouldn’t work. The bed was hard and bent. I guess the pictures speak out the rest. Apart from the location this hotel was the wrong pick in comparison to several nearby hotels and across the street a New Sheraton for similar prices. Certainly no longer a 5 star hotel and would not recommend for family visits.
I've been here in the hotel for 4 nights already and leaving tomorrow, the hotel is in good central location with rooms that smile of cigarettes . At breakfast I went to the restaurant yesterday to make make my breakfast and they refused delivering it to my suite for 10 minutes of argument because my pregnant wife was not feeling well. This morning we went down and waited 10 minutes for my tea than I had to do it my self . The water tasted like tap water. The house keeping only cleaned my suite one time during our stay . The fridge only freeze and no colling so had to keep medicine out side. The food was ok The receptionist Marian was very helpful and polite always. I would not recommend this hotel for family's.
What a horrible experience. Staying at pyramisa was a real disappointment. They claim to be 5 star but they closer to 2star. Poor service staff Outdated decor Poorly maintained rooms Bland expensive food And room service only takes cash, it is 2017 but pyramisa functions like it is 1994. Ps. The manager makes the same generic reply to all negative reviews
Went here for a couple of nights before returning to GB on my friends insistence it was better than I thought, nice food staff friendly enough, the worst problem was the second night when we had to get up at 5.30am to get to the airport and there was a wedding on with loud music until 3.30am not conducive to sleep!!
Visiting Cairo is an amazing experience. De city does not feel less safe than any European city. In order to get to see the city for real, you need at least a week. After a day in a fascinating though hectic Cairo, that in habitats 20 million people, the Hotel Pyramisa Cairo is the perfect getaway. Very close to the Westside of the Nile and only a 10-minute walk from the Metro, you find an oasis of calm. It is a large hotel, also used for business purposes, with a luxury feel. A lot of marmor is used in the design. To Western European standards the hotel definitely deserves the four stars. The reception and staff is very helpful. The beautiful, very spacious, well-kept rooms all offer views of the outdoor swimming pool, where you can relax without any background noise from the city. There is a restaurant that does not offer 'haute cuisine', but prepares good meals. The buffet breakfast is of high level, varied and plentiful. It offers an excellent start to the day, which will fill you up till the evening. We stayed at this hotel in the last week of February 2017, a great time of the year to see much of the city without it being too warm, at around 20 degrees, even a bit too cold still to enjoy the swimming pool. The price / quality ratio of this hotel is excellent.
