Park Regis City Quays4.0 out of 5.0

I did not spend long in the hotel and moved to Pullman round the corner. The room was fine but a bit dated and basic. Normally not a problem for me. However, I was in Cairns on business and the Park Regis WiFi was out with no guarantee it would be fixed during my planned 5 day stay. I need that for work, hence the move. The staff refunded the up-front full payment I made without any hassle. I just got unlucky I guess.
We had a recent two night stay here and had no cause for complaint. Our queen sized room on the fifth floor overlooked the street and had a partial vista of the ranges in the background. The room was well maintained and cleaned, the only slight criticism was some noise from either the room above or the roof which sounded like furniture being dragged across an uncarpeted floor. Reception was polite and efficient but I noted with interest the $1.50 charge for each piece of luggage left for safekeeping until your transport connection was available after you had checked out. It was the first time I had seen such a charge. No doubt it is part of the eternal quest to improve the bottom line by using add-ons rather than including such services in the room tariff. The Wi-Fi was fine although the daily allowance was limited. The location is brilliant, it is on the edge of the main town area so is relatively quiet and peaceful but it is a short walk down the the esplanade and along the shoreline or into town and the restaurants there the other direction. This hotel was very comfortable and amenable given its pricing.
Room clean, terrible smells in rooms!! Staff where so rude never made you feel welcome. Felt they did not want to be there or hated there job. Noise room from upstairs and next door. Good location. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.....
We booked a 2 Bedroom apartment in this property and our stay was fabulous. The location of this property close to the esplanade is a bliss and the roof top pool is a fabulous. On top of it, the hotel is eligible for drop-off and pick-up facility for most car rental companies. Hope to return back soon!
we arrived at hotel after mix up with other hotel Judith was so helpful showed us a room and it was fab so clean and we could sit out and relax after all the stress it is a brilliant location , great to have washing machine and dryer at hand . Next day we went see great barrier reef . We would walk down to get something to eat so handy and had lovely walks while there . fab trip and cairns definetly out favourite and would have stayed an extra night or two .
Reliable especially if you are at a convention centre event as its a short walk. Quiet except for AC on neighbouring building. In summer my room would have been a big noise issue as it overlooked another hotel's pool so check your room if that bothers you. Nice for families as many rooms are able to be joined to next door room. Anyway it was clean and had what i needed. Seems rooms not serviced on public holidays and other days they forget to top up tea making.
In Cairns for a conference at the convention centre. The accomodation is spacious and clean. Daily service. Quiet. Easy walk to convention centre. Close to boardwalk for getting out and about in Cairns. Parking is extra cost but secure and internal. No food on premises but plenty of space to cook for yourself and also walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
There was a mix up with the rooms we had booked which was disappointing but we enjoyed our stay for the second time. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. We had to buy all of the tea, coffee, milk etc. from the supermarket up the road
Initially I was not optimistic when we arrived. A very small foyer. But the staff was great and things went well. Our room was on the small side but everything worked and was nearly brand new. Cairns is not a huge city but this Hotel is within walking distance of the entire city. Morning coffee is less than a five minute walk.
The hotel is in the quiet side of the cbd. It is only about a 7 minute walk to a supermarket and about a 12 minute walk to a big shopping centre and a short walk to the esplanade . I found the staff very friendly and helpful as my booking was not right but they fixed it up straight away. Good tips where to eat too. I stayed in one bedroom apartment as I got a good deal on an accommodation site which was very helpful as it has a washing machine and a dryer and a kitchenette. Thanks and if I am visiting Cairns again I will be a repeated visitor to this hotel.
