Excellent hotel. Perfect team and especially Laura, great location base for a walk, visit Dali home and have sea actions, greater rooms and facilities. Trip advisor 200 character count in review 98,99,200

This hotel is really nice and located in magical place just 2 minutes from Dali House. This place has very nice energy and you understand why famous artist chose this location to live. The hotel is super comfortable, staff is really nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I want definitely come back to this place again.

We stayed three nights in this lovely hotel, overlooking the small harbour of Port Lligat, near Cadaques. We booked a budget room which although small was clean and bright with a balcony. The swimming pool was clean and welcoming wih a nice surrounding area with plenty of bed chairs, some in the sun and a few under the shade of trees. The views from the pool area and breakfast room over the harbour were wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly. Tapas meals served until 8pm could be eaten around the pool, in seats overlooking the harbour or in the lounge area The breakfast was the best of our whole holiday with lots of choice, fresh fruit, cakes and pastries, and a wide selction of hot food. It was great to walk to Cadaques, although a little steep, but worth the effort, with a big choice of bars and restaurants. Dali's house is a must to visit, very interesting and with lovely views. Would have liked to have a little longer, would recommend for a restful, comfortable stay in Cadaques.

Again a really lovely stay at the hotel calina! We had another apartment which was bigger than the last as we got upgraded! Clean, spacious and very comfy bed. We love it here as its peaceful, lovely pool area and nice staff. We walk into the town every night for dinner. The view to Port Lligat is just lovely and that is why we come time and time again to Cadaques. The only thing i will be critical about is the breakast. One coffee machine really is not sufficent for the size of the hotel and people arriving the same time for breakfast and the quality of eggs and meat is very poor and often cold? It would have been much better for local produce jams and honey, better breads and better quality juices and yoghurts. However a super stay.

We spent 5 nights here as a family of four. We had a family room (room 206) which was big enough for all of us (kids are 12 and 15) with proper comfortable beds for all which is a big plus. Our room had its own verandah looking out to the pool. The room was air conditioned. This is a family run hotel and they run a very efficient ship. There is always staff on hand to help and they all seemed to work constantly cleaning and tidying. I think it’s a 2 star hotel and this is probably because they don’t have a 24 hour reception, they don’t offer room service and there isn’t really a restaurant. In all other respects it is much better than the 2 stars would suggest. The breakfast is served 8.30 to 10.30 which suited us great with teenage kids but I have to say with toddlers I would have been chomping at the bit by opening time. The breakfast is a buffet with a good choice of mostly cold stuff, including home made cakes, but also warm stuff like grilled courgettes, chorizo, bacon, tortilla and scrambled egg. They have a limited tapas menu that serves till 8 only. However, there are two good bars serving food really close by so getting evening food or a broader food choice locally isnt a problem if you don’t want to go into Cadaqués. There is a nice pool - opening hours are 8-8. I think this restriction goes a long way to ensuring that the hotel generally has a very quiet atmosphere. It was full when we were there but never felt noisy or crowded. However it might not suit you if you like to take an early dip or a midnight swim. It’s about 20 mins walk to Cadaqués. It’s not a difficult walk but would probably be too much for anyone with limited mobility as it’s not on the flat. All staff members were helpful and kind. We had a problem with a faulty hire car while we were there and they were very helpful supporting us getting it sorted- particularly when the breakdown van arrived 5 hours late and 10 mins before our Dalí house booking (of course). We were very sad to leave and had a lovely few days there. We hope to return some day. Thank again to everyone at the hotel who made our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed for a week at the Hotel Calina. We loved the location, the service, the breakfast and the pool. The rooms was simply furnished but very comfortable. Perfect for a relaxing scenic break. If you want action and lively entertainment this is not the place for you. Also unless you have a car the short but hilly walk into Cadaques is challenging unless you are reasonably fit and mobile - though taxi transfers are cheap.

Hotel Calina is wonderful and I can say nothing less than fabulous about it. I wish I had paid more attention to the topo map and noticed the hill between the hotel and Cadaques restaurants. The staff are very helpful.

We stayed just one night, but it was the ideal place for visiting the Dalí house. Our GPS took us a circuitous way in, but at least we got a good view of Cadaqués. We arrived early, but we were able to get into our room. We booked a budget room. It was small but extremely clean and had a little balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Everything about the property was well-maintained and fresh-looking. The personnel were very pleasant. There are 2 fish restaurants very close (covered and open air seating). Had lunch at one. Went to the other in the evening, and it was closed (too early in the season to stay open late). We walked over to the Dalí house for the tour we had booked for the afternoon. It all worked like clockwork. Because we thought we could go to the other restaurant we didn’t pay attention to the hours for tapas at the hotel. Unfortunately they stop serving at 8. The staff said that they can order a taxi from town to take you into Cadaqués for 4 euros a person, same on return, if you don’t want to walk. The breakfast was excellent! I have never had such good chocolate croissants. They also had homemade flan and homemade cakes. Pretty view over the bay from the breakfast room. Lovely pool but too cold to try it out.

I have just read a previous review where the reviewer felt that their room was basic. Clearly a hotel that is 2 stars does not have the facilities of a concrete palace that this person would seem to prefer, but basic this hotel is not it is superb. I almost did not book because of course 2 stars in the UK usually means trouble but clearly in Spain it's different. The place is spotless, the staff (without exception friendly and attentive), the breakfasts brilliant, the location perfect and even better there is an absence of British around the place. They do not have a restaurant but do serve tapas in the bar from noon until 8pm and the quality and price again is excellent. You can always tell a business where the owners are hands on and they are here. You should be aware that the hotel is not in Cadaques but Port Lligat and to walk there and especially back is quite a task. Indeed we took a badly lit footpath and tripped sustaining an injury so be warned. You really should take the car. Someone has whinged about the parking prices in the town but the reception will tell you where there is free on-street parking. All in all one of the nicest places you could fine. As for the room being basic, well what more do you want? There is a stocked minibar, they provide hairdryer, soaps etc, fresh towels every day a comfortable bed and a view to die for but of course you can't please everyone can you. If you like quality and good value you will love this place.

Located next to the house where the painter Salvador Dali lived most of his life, the Hotel Calina offers all the services of a major resort. They served a very good breakfast and will even accomodate you with gluten free bread. If you go to Cadaques don't miss it, you will be only 15 minutes walk from the village. Parking is free and car is located near your guestroom.
