Its a very nice hotel for the price we paid. Its in the center at the plaza, very near the train station. Pillows and matresses are very nice. The only thing I didnt like was they have no microwave or small fridge in the rooms, breakfast items were always the same. Otherwise, staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Nice hotel - directly across the street from the train station - literally 2 minute walk. Right now they are renovating the hotel so check with them for when the construction will be completed. Super friendly staff (ask for Daniel). Clean and comfortable rooms and great breakfast (so many choices - cannot sample all of it at once!).
The room was paid in advance, due to a misunderstanding from the hotel they charged me 1499,- nok extra. When i called the hotel i was met with extremely low professionalism (?). I will NOT recommend this to others.
The hotel was a building site but we haven't been informed about that prior to the trip. Neither was there any excuse for all the restrictions due to the building activities. The hotel was covered with a smell of paint, big areas were blocked, the rooms were partly in a desperate state, the breakfast was served in a big room almost amongst the building materials.
The hotel was absolutely no value for money. Per night it was like €220,- but actually the value was €50,-. Breakfast was fine, but the cleanness amd the state of the room were lousy. Once in a lifetime.
Our room was good, but not as good as we expected and hoped for, the hotel will surely be better after the rebuilding is done. It was a bit drafty, so I managed to collect a cold during my stay at the Scandic Ambassadeur. I will highly recommend this hotel after the makeover is done, because its location is right beside the railroad station, and in the middle of the city.
This hotel is in the middle of a renovation (needed, the whole place is run down and outdated), and instead of closing it for renovations or offering a steep discount they will charge you a regular price for the WORST hotel stay you will find in Norway. Our bathroom was dirty, long black hairs on the towels and the toilet, stained sink and heated floors that were broken so that they were so hot they burned our feet. When we pointed this out, the employees gave us *one* new towel, blaming the cleaners for the hairs on them (even though the same hairs could be found all over the toilet), never offering to have us moved, or our room cleaned again. Our friends arrived at 9 PM to check in and were told their room still was not ready, without so much as an apology! Throughout the weekend there was ear splitting racket from the renovations (maybe don't drill into the concrete at 10 am on a Saturday?!) to the point where the floor of our room was shaking. The breakfast room was disgusting and had obviously not been cleaned between the two mornings we ate there, as the same sticky messes were on the tables when we showed up for breakfast on our second day. Gross! Literally the only positive thing I can say about this place is it's a short walk from the train station, which is convenient. Still, you couldn't pay me to stay here again. Gross!!
The hotel is under reconstruction. No restaurant. It was nesseary to go outside and find a restaurant. My room was dark and tiny. At reservation it was not mentioned that the hotel is under reconstruvtion. Please do not visit this hotel at the moment.
No restaurant , dast, noises , Darty Attention in reception very bad , people working in the lobby , no lobby , bad smell in the room , Darty badroom , bas smell in bed . I'm not recomend anyone to sleep in this hotel .
A clearly misleading website tricked me into paying full price for an old badly kept room in the middle of a construction site. Hotel is totally gutted, entry via backdoor. Work began at 07:30. Staff had clearly been ordered to defend the fraud, were noticably uncomfortable. See images
