As I was posted in Geoje to work with my family, I recommended my parents come and visit South Korea for a while. One weekend, we made a quick getaway to Busan and stayed at the Ibis Ambassador (note stay was actually July 2014). Whilst not the most glamorous of hotels, it is amply adequate. The rooms are not massive, but are on par for Korean standards, and the breakfast was fairly nice (I did enjoy the soft-shell crabs). It is well located, adjacent to some typical Korean markets and a Lotte mall, so there is a bit of culture and plenty of food / basic entertainment options close by.
I booked 2 deluxe double rooms and I was happy with what I got, clean and spacious. However the lighting wasn’t good enough, but considering it is ibis, you get what you pay for. Breakfast was good too, but they take a little long to refill the finished items, some of them were never refilled too. Apart from that, my stay at ibis was alright.
Room was clean and new but the lighting was too dim to my liking. Would be better if the room were brighter. Room was huge considering the standard sizes of hotel rooms in Korea. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The welcome drink offered was however a let down as there were only coffee and tea to choose from. Location was really convenient as it is situated right next to Bujeon Station (which is connected to Seomyeon Station via an underground mall). Front desk was very helpful to call us a cab to the airport which costs only KRW20,000. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Busan =)
I left a pair of genuine pearl earrings on the table of Room 1510 on day of check-out 5/8/2017. Emailed them on 5/8/2017 on the way to another part of Korea and they replied on the same day. Received my earrings after 1.5 weeks back in Singapore! I would like to comment Susan Um (Um, Su Jin) - Revenue & Reservation Manager for following up even when I was in Singapore and had difficulty tracking the parcel. Susan remained helpful and professional !! The Housekeeping lady (lost her name) who found my earrings is FANTASTICALLY HONEST and totally saved my trip from turning disastrous!!! God bless such kind lady with a BIG heart. Ibis Ambassador Busan City Centre: Please locate this honest-to-goodness housekeeping lady and recognise her richly for bringing honour and repute to your hotel!!! She gives me hope that HONESTY exists in this world !!! Thank you!!! This hotel is near everywhere - Seomyeon underground shopping, Bujeon market, restaurants, cafes, hair salon, beauty salons, subway, etc, etc!!! Convenient to the max!!! I love Busan and will be back again next year and of course will be staying in this wonderful clean and safe hotel !!!
The hotel is conveniently located near Bugeon Railway Station (4 minutes walk) and just opposite Bugeon Metro Station. The shopping district of Seomyeon is the next Metro Station and is within walking distance through the underground shopping mall. From Busan Railway Station, you can take the Metro Line 1 (Orange) towards Nopo and Bugeon Metro Station is the 7th stop. Go towards Exit 1 and enter the underground shopping mall through the glass door and turn right and exit through Gate No. 9 of the Mall; the stairs will take you just at the entrance of the hotel. The huge and vibrant local market (fish, vegetables, spices etc) is besides the hotel and there is a 24-hour super market 'Boamart' just across the road to the right side of the hotel. The hotel reception is at 17th Floor and there is a very helpful information desk on the ground floor at the entrance of the hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, workable and consist of everything you require for your comfortable stay including a safe. Wifi works well and there is a desk top computer station at the Reception which is very handy for getting printout of your documents (free of charge). We have been staying at IBIS properties for the last several years and we do not hesitate to say that Busan hotel proved to be the best. We stayed for four nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hospitality of each staff member there. We will surely return if we visit Busan again.
tourists in busan who don't want to pay exorbitant prices in haeundae mostly prefer to live near seomyeon, and this ibis is just one metro stop away from seomyeon, in bujeon. the hotel is in fact located right about the metro station (exit 9) which is convenient, but note there is no elevator, only stairs for exit 9. you may choose to take the metro here from busan ktx/train station as it is not too far away. or take a taxi for around 8000 krw. we didnt have high expectations for the hotel, knowing that it is just an ibis, but even then the hotel failed us on many accounts. for the last couple of nights, we discovered that every time we used the sink, the pipe would leak, which meant that there was flooding in the bathroom. we lived with this uncomfortable situation by using used towels to soak up the leak. we couldn't understand how a new hotel could have such glaring issues. then, on the morning of our check out, the air conditioner started making annoying loud and regular noises at about 6 in the morning. every 10 seconds or so it would make a loud noise and that made it impossible to sleep. i was so frustrated that i woke up to call reception but the girl had no idea what the problem was. i again made this comment at check out, but staff never told us why the air conditioner made those loud noises. we were never offered an explanation or compensation. i have sent a complaint to ibis but have not received even a response. so here i am, venting it out on tripadvisor. avoid this hotel. there are other options around seomyeon.
The hotel is very close to 2 metro stations, Seomyeon and Bujeon. Where Bujeon station is right in front of the hotel. In Seomyeon station there is an underground mall and from here you can walk to Lotte department. In the same complex of the hotel there is an convenient store, Starbucks and a hospital. So don’t freak out if you see patients on ground floor The reception of the hotel is located on the 17th floor. The check in staff spoke very could English and everything went smooth. At the 17th floor the hotel restaurant/bar is located. At night the view was nice from here. Regarding the reception, to bad they are located on the 17th. Somehow I miss that connection and interaction with the staff. I mean no one for me to practice with my Korean language. The room itself is what I’m used of IBIS. It’s clean, quite big and I don’t have to worry about a bad sleeping night. All major touristic spots are quite easily to reach from the hotel. Around Seomyeong there are lot of shops, restaurants and bars. So you won’t be bored here. I had a good stay and would consider IBIS again in my next stay in Busan.
Many thanks to Sharon at reception who went all out to help us to arrange a day tour of Gyeongju. She made our stay at the hotel very smooth and pleasant. She was always helpful and couteous and changed our room when we did not like the first one assigned to us.
Neat, clean, comfortable and well located. A BIG market down the block. Metro just outside the front door with metro shopping. Starbucks next door, but doesn't open until 8pm! A good base for day trips.
My husband and i stayed at ibis ambassador busan city centre and it was great as everything was just around it. Location was really good and train station just right outside the door. Staffs were very helpful and room was very clean and new. Bujeon Station is the best place to get out from.
