Commodore Hotel Busan

From the outside this hotel is absolutely stunning and very different from anywhere I’ve stayed previously. The theme continues inside but is let down by the dated rooms. The room I had was ok, clean and comfortable however the bathroom was badly in need of an upgrade and was pretty shabby. There’s a choice of three restaurants but the only one that seemed to be open was the buffet which was very repetitive at lunch and dinner over the three days I was there. All in all an ok stay. Staff were attentive but wouldn’t say friendly.

This is a very interesting designed hotel. It is on a steep long hill. The bedrooms are quite a good size though the bathrooms were a little tired. In most hotels when you ask for a map they immediately mark the hotel on the map for for you, they did not here. The breakfast buffet was a good standard.

I stayed at commodore for 4 days, the room was ok big enough the bathroom a litle small but ok as well I had a nice view of the port. The room was cleaned daily if you press the clean the room button, otherwise they will not disturb you. Good selection of TV chanels , good wi-fi signal, complimentary water daily. You have all necessary toiletries including tooth paste and tooth brush. Unfortunately the buffet restaurant had the same food every day lunch was conected with dinner so they where not changing the tipes of dishes. On top of this they served every day the same variation with small changes in sushi and desert. To be honest there was variation in the menu, mexican, korean european foods but every day the same 2 soops and I was from this point of view disappointed. The hotel is old with traditional architecture. The swimming pool average size in the basement alitle creapy to get to it. They had also a gim wich I was not using. The location is nice close ta a lot of touristic atractions. Hope I was helpfull enjoy your stai if you choose to book this hotel.

I was at the hotel for a conference and unfortunately for me the staff at the reception didn't speak a lot of English. They put me in the wrong room but it was really hard to make them understand the error and try to change room. The hotel is good and the breakfast is nice.

This hotel was really comfortable. Nice bed, nice restroom. Clean, safe, we walked everywhere. The restaurant was a bit over priced, but this was a business oriented hotel, vs. tourist. It was definitely worth the money.

I just stayed one night only. But if I have a chance to visit Busan again I would like to stay here one more time. The hotel is a bit old style but good maintained. The view in the room is amazing. (must wake up early morning and see the window.) And all the hotel staff was always friendly. Even compare with good condition & expensive hotel, this hotel staff service is better than that. There communication between the staff also good. coz when I stayed the hotel, my nephew was not feeling well. and he was vomited in hotel bedcover. so I apologize for this thing and request to change the bed cover. The hotel staff quickly came to our room and changed it. During that time I felt very sorry for it but the staff was even considerate my feeling as well. After he left the room, he called me back and check my nephew's condition. I just mentioned only one case, but not just only one. I feel very happy in the front desk, bell counter as well. I felt like all the hotel staff makes customer feel comfortable :) So, next time when my oversea friend visit Korea Busan. I would let them stay this hotel.

This hotel is generally good considering the price. also staffs are kind and helpful. BUT the fact that spa and sauna facility is only available for 'adult men' is quite controversial, actually, I could even call it sexist. they require the same price whether you are male or female, but there is restriction of using facility when you are female. obviously unfair. I have heard from my Korean friend this sauna, in the past, used to offer sexual service for male customer, and that is reason why they only made men's sauna from the start. If this is true it is even more disappointing that they did not make any change since then and just continuing as it is. I am truly surprised no one even complained about this. I think there should be change regarding price policy, This hotel should give discount for female customer, or should make a gender turn for sauna. or do both!

Stayed one night in this hotel during transit thru Busan. Prices are reasonable and the room is spacious. The room window offers a nice view to Busan. The staff was kind and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

Once this hotel commanded a marvelous view over the harbor and the sea, nowadays some high rising buildings are blocking parts of the landscape. Try to get a room in the upper floors. So-called de lux rooms for two are spacious. Many years have passed since this hotel was built and the best days are over no doubt. But it is clean, the service is OK and the price reasonable. If you like to walk this is a good choice in the area of Jeongju. Try to explore some of the small routes down the hill which will save some time and give a good impression of ordinary city peoples life.

The COMMODORE hotel is located in Yeongju, 30min walking distance to Lotte Dpt Store and main shopping area, and abt 20min walking distance to Pusan Station. It has an antique Korean architecture and design throughout, which is pleasing to the eye and very original. It is very popular with business travelers, especially those in shipping, like myself. It is 10min driving distance to old container terminal and abt 1 hour from new port. Actually i have stayed in this hotel a few more times before since 2010, but never took the time to do a proper review. During my last visit, i was accommodated in a large room in 14th floor. It was very spacious and clean, the design however looks very old and could have been renewed over time without losing its antique touch. Bathroom could have been maintained a little better as well. It had a large flat screen tv, air conditioning, mini-bar and all the other stuff you expect at this category. Wi-fi was available throughout the hotel for free, it was stable with average transfer speed abt 500kb/sec Breakfast buffet had lots of choices and you can really gain some weight if you don't control yourself. It's one of those things that have not changed over the years and they should keep it like that. Lunch and dinner was OK, but i would like to have more choices for western food. Room service menu was somewhat disappointing, the menu had few "standard" choices, like spaghetti, burger and steak, but neither was particularly tasty to leave me desiring for more. Laundry service was quick, although 1st time they mixed some of my clothes with another customer's, but thankfully they were found soon. Housekeeping was available every day, even weekends. It was a little annoying during the first week or so, that the housekeeping staff did not understand the "do not disturb" sign on the door and kept calling to ask about room clean. If you have spent all night working onboard a ship and need to get a few hours rest during the day, it surely does not help. They "got the message" though after a while. The entire hotel staff were very polite and helpful, except the "bell boy" who never cares to open the door for you or to assist with your luggage up the stairs. He has been like that for all the years i remember him, so i guess different "culture"? dunno Overall my stay was satisfactory, but i believe there is room for improvement. IMHO, Koreans have a very "fixed" perspective on things and rarely accept that anything needs to be changed, especially from foreigners, but i hope to be proven wrong. It is a very decent hotel and a popular option among business travelers, but since there are now some new hotel options in the area, i will be exploring those next time instead.
