We had are wedding reception here and it was the best experience ever everything was perfect from the moment we arrived to the next day when we left Simon and Tom went the extra mile to make everything perfect thank you and karen who organised it all i would like to thank all the staff the food was excellent and the DJ was brilliant it couldn't have gone any better thank you would highly recommend this venue thank you Tracy dave and riley
Lovely setting though a little crowded and chaotic. Visited for my parents' golden wedding meal and sat outside for pre drinks. The outside terrace was fine though a mixture of customers from chavs in track suits to respectable people dressed accordingly for dinner. Some small children were whizzing about on mountain bikes which didn't bode well. We were seated for eleven people on time. The young waitress looked harassed as there was a wedding party next door. The waitress took our orders then returned five minutes later to announce not all dishes were available. All starters and main courses were presented well and tasted lovely. I suspect the delay in delivery was due to poor management than the efforts of the waiting on staff. I would go back for a second meal however I feel the restaurant has to raise it's game to compete with the Vicarage and the Winery!
Only called in for drinks and a brief evening meeting, but all was good. People were eating nearby and seemed happy. The location is great, especially if you can sit outside (weather permitting). Don't be put off by the approach as you drive in. It's been improved and looks so much better than it once did.
Stayed here for a week in May - was very lucky with the weather so able to sit out by the river at the back of the hotel which was very nice. Room wasn't massive but it was big enough and everything worked well. Ate in the restaurant on a couple of evenings and the food was excellent. Should more food options be required if you walk for 10-15 minutes there are other restaurants on the main road as well.
We have stayed at several Old English Inns and this was the best so far. The staff genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay and went out of their way to ensure your visit was a good experience. Good choice of food and drink at very reasonable prices. We stayed in a superior room which was very good and enjoyed a view out over the river Trent. We are definitely looking to return in the future. Remember as with all Old English Inns they offer good honest pub grub not a so called fine overpriced gastro pub fare.
Although a small hotel, with less than 20 rooms it was fab! The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout my 2 night stay. Breakfast and dinner were superb! Rooms are a good size with great amenities in the bathroom.
A really big thank you to Mark, Karen, Simon, Tom and the rest of the team who all helped our day run extremely smoothly. It was a fabulous day where nothing was too much trouble, all the rooms looked lovely and our wishes were fulfilled completely. We certainly received 5* treatment. Tommy the DJ was first class. Would highly recommend the wedding experience at the Riverside.
first time staying at the riverside and will be returning, the rooms were newly refurbished and very clean with all the ammenities you would need, we had an 3 coarse evening meal the food was gorgious and more than we could eat,the service was excellent and all the staff polite. we were staying there and attending a wedding elsewhere and managed to loose our present but got a phone call very soon after saying it had been found and ready for us to collect it, cant think of any bad things about this place, although they were holding weddings at the venue we were treated very well in all respects thank u riverside for a very good stay
We met our friends there as it is half way between us and we have dogs. Providing you are a responsible dog owner you are very welcome. Everything was excellent, the room, the food, the service. Beautiful walks by the River Trent. Can't fault the place and we most certainly be back.
We hadn't been to the riverside for years but we were pleasantly surprised. We were there for evening meal and all of our meals were just brilliant. The decor is lovely and there's a nice atmosphere to the place, we had a great evening. We were soon back for Sunday lunch a few weeks later and that was just as nice. We are going back tomorrow evening with our friends too!!
