Very clean nice front desk very helpful. Very quiet and peaceful place, The Cumberland River is on the back of the hotel. Yeah it could use a update / remodel but it's priced right for what it is, Great mom and pop place
Clean and quiet. Friendly little town.Could use some remodeling as it is a bit dated. Clean! I even checked the mattress. Not a apot on it. I was able to check in early. It is off season so we were not able to fish or camp. Dale Hollow lake is close by.
Hotel is undergoing renovations. Staff was very friendly. Clean room with new carpet. Room had a very odd smell - musty. Simple beds and towels. Bring any toiletries you need. New TV in the room. Frig was nice unexpected extra. Internet was adequate. Small town with few choices for lodging
Nothing special. Basic place to lay your head. Might suggest bringing your own pillows and coffee, etc. DO NOT GO ON MEMORIAL WEEKEND!! For the last 10-15 years they have had a family come in for their family reunion. As the night went in the drunker and louder they got. Had to call front desk. Afterwards someone from the family came banging on my room pissed off that we had called the front desk on them. Even the police were called. So it was not just one guest that was disturbed. Just heed my warning. They take up the breezeway and were rather atrocious.
Very nice staff. Room was clean. NO amenities. Bring all you need. We have stayed here several times now visiting family in Burkesville and have always had a positive experience. It is quiet and that is even with it full the last time due to a fishing tournament. There is a locally owned restaurant that serves a great breakfast buffet. It is just a few blocks away. We usually arrive late and they always greet us with a smile and have our room ready. The rooms are older and not fancy or of the chain hotel grade but it is clean and comfortable.
Wow, where to start. First I knew this was a budget motel but thought the view would be nice. Well there is no view, just trees and a parking lot. Our sheets smelled like cat feces and the overall room was so terrible we had to leave after 1 hour cause it was giving our daughter an asthma attack. We didn't bother to even ask for a refund as we just wanted the hell out of there.
I stayed here most recently 5/23/2015 and beds and room clean .Room was cool and TV worked fine.If you want a great room go to Chicago and pay 400$ a night but for this area and price this is more than ok. Also the person calling Burkesville a pitifull town has to be from New York City or LA and needs to go back there.
This place is horrible. . I mean I feel bad for writing this because the town of Burkesville is horrible itself.. it's almost like the show Justified and Deliverance meet... but anyways this place sucks... we stayed here for business in Burkesville because there is only two hotels. . We picked here unfortunately. .. the closest chain hotel is 40 miles away, but this point I think it's worth it... the tv is from the 90s maybe 80s there is rust on everything the wallpaper is falling off the wall.. the beds look like old military issued spring beds... they don't even have key cards.. just keys... I could go on but I think I've said enough... Burkesville sucks so bad... the Pizza Hut doesn't even deliver
My wife and I have traveled a bit and we have stayed in a variety of places. We stayed here two nights this June. The sheet and towels were clean. The room was quiet. The Air-conditioning worked well. The Television worked. The four poster ben was a nice touch. The dampness of the room and it's mild odor passed and was undetectable in minutes. We brought our own pillows (that helped), and we think that a little effort from this lodge would help future reviews a whole lot. I'm from a big city in the east and one of the things I love about visiting Kentucky is how nice the people are. If the staff showed that same charm, maybe it would be easier to overlook some of the problems here. At least, that would be one less thing to complain about. This Lodge is right by the river. It's damp. And it needs repairs. The person at the front desk when we arrived was a bit gruff, and not very informative (she could not tell us whether our room had a refrigerator/min-bar or not). We had a cooler and were hoping it would, but it did not. (Room 113). The lamps were rusty and there were some repairs that would have made this place much nicer that just were not done (see my pictures for the bathroom counter that is separated and needs repair). This place is fine in a pinch, but poor pretty much describes the quality, which is a shame. It could so easily be average or better.
Room was clean saving it from a 1* review. However, getting to the room itself was not so user friendly. If you have arachnophobia, forget it. My wife (who does) was a complete wreck by the time we got inside. Should clarify this was due to it being dark and the outside lighting on landing creating spider heaven. Bed hard & damp. Pillows like lumpy mash potatoes. Thankfully, just the one night, unfortunately zero competition means there is little reason to up the ante.
