This is one of the dirtiest, disgusting Motels we have ever been to. Paper thin walls and doors connecting each room, so if one door were to be left just slightly open, the next room could get in. The filth of the rooms were beyond anything. Bathroom with hair from previous guests left in hand basin, shower head with mold on it, mold and dirt along shower door frame, Sheets I don't think they had been changed, as found hair on them. Dust on side table. Grime under soap dispensers, shower door dirty. If you want to live, don't come here.
We booked a room here really last minute and granted they dealt with it really well. Gave us a ring to make sure we would arrive before closing. We checked in for two nights in a double room. On check in they gave us a carton of milk for teas and coffees and the process was easy however this is two motels joined together and sometimes you check in at the motel you're NOT staying in like we did. The rooms come with a designated car parking space which is handy. The rooms themselves are large, holding a double bed and a single bed. A large twin wardrobe, large bathroom, small TV, radio/alarm. Mini fridge with a lot of counter space. Room has aircon and free wifi also. All of the above are positives however... the beds are dirty, the single bed had stains all up the side, easily covered by a bed sheet. The walls were covered in dust, clearly the people before us noticed it also as they left a message with writing in the dust. Paint was peeling off the wall and stains on the counter top. Mirror was dirty in the bathroom and the sink was still wet when we arrived. Also I'm pretty sure the bed had bed bugs as we arrived with little to no bites and left with loads of little bites all over hands and legs. Overall its an okay place to stay but for the price they charge it needs to be cleaner.
I stayed here for a 3 day school sporting event with my teenaged daughter. Considering the age of the property it has been well maintained and I found it very clean. The daily cleaning service was a pleasant surprise. The deco is a bit long in the teeth but everything was functioning, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful & friendly. I would stay there again the next time I'm in town as the location was perfect. Lots of nice restaurants and shops close by.
I spent 3 nights at the Bert Hinkler in a newly renovated room on a business trip. It was very comfortable and a quiet room with no highway noise. The staff were friendly. Pricing was high I thought but the other motels in town had no vacancies so I grabbed the room. I think it was good value for money. They have a meeting room so all around quite good for business
this is 2 motels joined together but you check in at the one you arent staying in. clean comfortable room, cleaning staff are very proficient, YOU WILL NEED EARPLUGS as road traffic is very loud, there is a laundry for guests to do their washing the washing machine is $3 and so is the dryer ($1 coins only), the guy who checked me in wasn't the friendliest guy so his customer service could be better and he couldn't answer any of my questions about public transport etc. I ate at the restaurant for dinner on only one night and that will be the only time i'd ever eat there, the meal was terrible you could tell it wasn't fresh as it was cold with no flavour (this is bad when its seafood, luckily i didnt get food poisioning) and there was no excuse as there was only myself and one other guest in the whole restaurant at the time so its not like they were run off their feet. overall id stay at the hotel again but I wouldnt eat at the restaurant again unless i was desperate, I ended up ordering eagle boys pizza which was really yummy. you can walk to the sugarland mall in 15minutes theres woolworths, big w etc. theres also a coles and laundromat in the same area.
Travelling for business and I cannot manage to sleep - at all. The walls are paper thin, the air-conditioner is insanely loud, I have an ants nest living in the bathroom and to top it off I paid $30 for a dinner that was not properly cooked. I am profoundly disappointed in the cleanliness of my room and the fact that I have to attempt to sleep in a hot room with no other option to cool it down. The room itself does not feel secure at all. Just glad that the company I work for is responsible for the costs of this stay. I will not be returning. I will however commend the staff on their service.
Two motels seem to have been joined together. In days gone by they were both probably the best in town. The restaurant could pass for an 80's TV set, everything is original - location scouts take note. My room (#1) was pretty bleak and in dire need of refit.
We booked this motel sight unseen. Are regular visitors to Bundaberg and this would be the worse place we have stayed in. Difficult to find Reception (turned out we had to negotiate the path to the motel next door). Being a Saturday night there was no full breakfast offered for Sunday (despite the breakfast menu left in the room) and no room service available for the evening meal - again menu with times. We felt quite isolated in our room and it was disconcerting to notice itinerants wandering around the complex checking outside ashtrays for butts (and, I suppose unlocked doors). The manager appeared to accept this problem but I couldn't see any security cameras in place. Also, the soap/shampoo dispensers are so high up on the wall a child would have no chance of accessing them. I have to say though, although there was no mention of movie channels in the information package, we happened upon a great movie early Sunday morning.
We stopped in here on our way home. We pulled up at the Country Comfort motel next door and was told they both have the same owners. I have stayed at the Country Comfort before but as the Comfort Inn was $30 cheaper, we thought we would be fine. This is a very basic motel. No crockery or cutlery, and only the basics in the fridge. There is a poor potplant outside the room that is really struggling with all the cigarette butts in it. There was a pool of water on the floor beside the toilet. This motel really needs some maintenance and housekeeping put into it.
I've stayed twice at this motel (not by choice) and have to say that although the room was comfortable I don't think it has had any upgrades since it was built in the 60's/70's. Very dated decor, TV and fridge are tiny. Bathroom is overdue for renovations by at least 20 years. Both times there I've been woken both late at night and very early morning by inconsiderate guests who I think must be international travellers doing bus tours. This is to be expected when staying at motels but I've never experienced the level of noise I experienced on both visits to this motel. Bring ear muffs if you don't want to be waken by after midnight or before dawn when staying here.
