Sheraton Libertador Hotel4.5 out of 5.0

I used to go to Buenos Aires often for work way-back-when and I used to dream staying at this hotel. For you to see you have to be careful what you ask for, since one day you may get it but in different circumstances……. Anyway… the hotel is well located and it is not expensive. The bed was comfortable. Those are the good aspects… And there may be more, if you forget you are in a Sheraton. Lower your expectations and you should be fine. Service in the front desk was not fantastic, but part of that is due to the complex check-in and check-out procedures that take time, allow for errors and require an enormous time to fix errors. Maybe they should ask for some information from the guest in advance, to expedite check-in and allow departing guests to check out the previous night to avoid long lines in the morning. Room service staff was very cordial and the food was OK. The hotel room however has seen better days. The carpet is used up and gives a bad impression, the room smells like a nursing home (I left the window open during my entire stay), the bed lights seem to be at least 20+ years old. You can’t adjust the temperature since you need the maintenance staff to come to your room for that. The closet door was not closing properly, and the bathroom was dated and it looked used. You will wet the floor A LOT during a regular shower. Breakfast tasted good but the waiters should be more attentive offering you more coffee (they assume one per guest is enough) or make it available for you to self-serve if you want more.
After a long and tiring journey out to Argentina this time, the Sheraton Libertador really served us as a home away from home. We loved our end of the corridor room ( Number 2001) facing Avenida Cordoba and could really relax there over two days. The 21st Floor Club Floor was as stunning as ever and I found the women attendants there to be very helpful and impeccably courteous. The Gym on the 22nd Floor was good for letting off steam.
Excellent location, near Florida street and Galleria Pacifico mall. Great food, many options for breakfast, not many for other meals but the food is tasty. The building is a little bit old, check if there's mold in your room before accommodate, it happened to me.
As a Starwood preferred guest, I believe in staying loyal to a brand and I was very pleased with my stay at the Sheraton Libertador. The property is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, the mall, and the main street (Florida Street) where you can get the under ground train. Do not expect to change money at the hotel. You will need to change your money at the airport or the mall. As of yesterday the rate was 17.5 pesos to $1 US. DO NOT CHANGE money until you arrive in Argentina to get the best rate. The ladies at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, Barbara Martinez at the front desk is so very professional and extremely pleasant, she is bilingual and helped us tremendously. We booked a package with breakfast and an "evening snack" and it was so worth it. The ladies in the club lounge were so very kind and provided great suggestions for things to do. I think one of the ladies name was Romaina. All of the encounters we had very very pleasant and I would certainly stay there again. I would suggest that you pre arrange your transportation to and from the airport using David's Taxi Transfer, which is about 45 minutes away. He charges $50.00 US each way for a private transfer and it was worth it. Please read my review for him. If you are taking public transportation you have to pay in pesos and it is cost effective to get a Sube card and a map. Overall I hope you enjoy your experience at the Sheraton Libertador.
The hotel is old fashioned! The rooms are carpeted and offers few amenities. Breakfast does not have much variety .The location and central a few meters from florida. I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and this time was a disappointment in need of renovation
Staff is very slow. Room height / clearance is very low. Old hotel. Needs renovation. Breakfast is strictly okay . Sharon at the front desk was the best of all ... she was very helpful and courteous. Location is also okay ...
The location is excelent for visitors in Buenos Aires that are for turism, the checkin is pretty fast and they have a good front desk, the breakfast it´s a little expencive and internet price is OK if it´s not included in you reservation. The acustic in the room is terrible it´s possible to listen everything that happens in the next room, the air conditioner works fine and the room is clean, the bed is too soft for my opinion. I recommend if you are looking for a good location in Buenos Aires.
The location couldn't be beat - one block away from pedestrian street Florida, 10 minute walk to Teatro Colon, ten minutes to the ferry quay, and surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. We walked nearly everywhere for both business and pleasure! The hotel itself was a bit of a let-down. The staff were friendly and professional, but the hotel is showing it's age. The rooms were especially dark - lighting, windows, closets. It was comfortable enough for sleeping, however the room didn't invite you to stay longer and relax, which is disappointing after a long flight from the US and a long drive from the airport.
After a long flight, I really appreciated my room being ready in the morning for early check-in. I was also granted access to the executive lounge as a platinum member which was another plus. Good location, able to walk to all of the sites! Thanks for great stay
The Sheraton was in a good location about10 mins walk to the market, which has a lot to see and many eating places. The room was quite spacious and bathroom lovely . The one criticism I have is that I wish there was a large mirror outside to put on makeup for more females sharing the room. The only mirror was in the bathroom.
